In my experience, the principle is really good at saying the right things to parents however she treats the staff like her personal kingdom. She is a power hungry individual that doesn't care about students or staff, just her image. As someone that has worked in many schools and with many children on the spectrum I was shocked by her conduct and the rumors spread about her at the school. I believe this trickles down to the teachers leading to burnout and often not great practices when it comes to education for kids with special needs. I think they have a great idea for the school, however day to day execution is lacking. I didn't see a shred of behavioral interventions used and often times the kids were put in front of the TV all day and worked for 10 minutes total for the entire day. I would never recommend this school to someone who has a special needs child. Don't settle!

I love this school and hope that all people can appreciate the vast energy that the staff puts into helping their students become wonderful human beings. If people had any idea the amount of time it takes to not only create lessons, but to keep the classroom clean and organized, and to make certain that all student needs are attended too, including the parents, and then go to meetings, buy supplies and make certain that every child also enjoys their day at school, you would most certainly understand that this is indeed the most difficult and fulfilling job on earth.

I have never seen an unreasonable amount of homework given out in any grade. In fact, it has been minimal.

I have worked in over a 100 schools in the district (as a Visiting Teacher), and L.S. is one of my top 3 favorite schools to work at. I have worked in all grades, and have personally witnessed the passion that the teachers put into their work and the love they give the children. Honestly, the school culture is very positive, and the teachers are some of the best I have worked with.

Absolutely, from pre-school through 5th grades. I have never witnessed a lack of support or had concerns for any support staff member.

I feel that most if not all of the schools I have worked at in SDUSD deal with bullying very aggressively.

Kindger was okay. First grade was a struggle for my daughter. I felt like I was bothering the school by bringing my concerns to the staffs attention. I even called the area superintendent and nothing happened. When speaking to principal I felt like she was selling me the school. Nothing was ever resolved. My child is now in private school and doing so well

Some teachers care and some don’t but that is with anywhere you go. It is just very sad you have to hope to get a teacher who cares

Be careful if your child has an IEP. Above all, this school is on the No Child Left Behind improvement list for below level performance. Observing my son's class it's not hard to see how that is. It was run as an ANY child left behind, if your child has an IEP then get up to speed on your own or move out of the way. This teacher had little to no patience for any child that wasn't keeping up. Her class is run with a "keep up or get out" attitude, very disappointing to say the least.

I'm happy that my children are attending this school. The teachers are attentive and keep me informed of my children's progress. The staff, VP, and Principal are very nice and extremely helpful. The parental involvement at this school is great. Despite some of the budget challenges, this school continues to thrive.

This past year I stepped into the role of parent of a school aged child, after being I the role of teacher in different schools. I am very pleased with my child's first experience in an elementary setting and appreciate the time that principal took with me when I approached her with questions. As a teacher I appreciated my child's teacher and the principals presence, professionalism and concern for the students at the school. I'm glad that this is our school of residence.

I agree with the parent who wrote the Oct. 24th review of Lindbergh Schweitzer. The enrollment process was very unorganized. The office staff is rude and indifferent. I agree with her, they do need to become better organized and informed. Other parents in the neighborhood have shared with me that there is a bullying problem at this school. It has been going on for the last 3 years and nothing seems to be improving. My husband and I are now considering private school. now considering

This was our first experience with public schooling with our kindergartner. The registration process was pretty painful since we didn't know when where or how to register. The sf unified website says to look on your individual schools website and the Lindbergh Sweitzer website has absolutly no information on registering. We left several messages on the school message system and never received any calls back until one day in August when someone actually answered the phone. Turns out you can register a week or so before school begins or on the first day even. But being pro active parents we were distressed because none of this information is available Anywhere. Welcome to public schooling. I hope that this isn't a sign of things to come. The first day of school was very very chaotic and no one knew where to take their children, supposedly the teAchers were going to come get the kids but they never showed. We ended up walking the kids to the classroom, no introductions by the teacher or anything. It was very hard to just leave our child there with A complete stranger for us and ourc5 year old. They need. Better organization skills there for sure

We have been there since Kindergarden and she just started 6th grade its hard to believe its been that long, We have loved the school and every teacher we have had, I have been a very active parent with the school the principal is great she knows all the kids by first name she puts in a 110 percent of her self in to her job, Its a great school all the teachers have been there for a long time and very all great, the school has many great fun family actives that keep the kids and parents happy and connected to the school.

My children have had some great great teachers. Mrs. Garon for Kindergarten is great, loving. Mr. Patton is awesome, just awesome!!! Mrs. Morgan is so sweet and attentive. Mrs. Hupp is a great teacher as well. Now, there are a few teachers that are...eh; but that's probably in all school's. Honestly I think one of the biggest problems if not the biggest at this school is the Principal and Vice principal.. The vice principal doesn't seem to be as bad but the principal is just awful. She is very passive and almost seems to protect the "bully's" or "problem children". She is rude and disconnected when parents have a concern. We have direct experience with her and it was very very frustrating to say the least. Honestly, in hindsight we should have gone to the district as she did not help our child, the problem child or the other students by her apathetic or whatever you would call it approach. The parent involvement is wonderful and is the reason along with the teachers that this school is doing ok, but the principal's leadership or lack therof is making this school suffer greatly. It would be in the school's best interest for her to be replaced.

Good school that integrates special needs students with the regular classes well. We have had a nice 7 years at this school. It's too bad there is no natural-fit junior school to feed into from here. Many leave here after grade 5 due to local middle schools starting at grade 6 and also the problems with the grade 6 staff or at least one classroom where the teachers acts like the "queen bee" of the school.

My son attends Mrs. Garon's kindergarten class, and he loves it! Mrs. Garon is a wonderful, caring teacher who truly understands children. I wish there were more teachers like her!
