We LOVE this school!!! Its a small school with amazing academics and the best community feel. Faculty and staff know every single student. Most parents know most of the students and families too. I have two energetic boys in kindergarten and first grade. They love going here and I cant believe how incredible their teachers have all been at warmly teaching them classroom behavior and being responsible for their own education at such a young age. The schools academic performance is incredible and I see the results everyday. The teachers are all qualified, experienced and nurturing. We love the many family activities they have throughout the year too, and the very warm and caring principal! It is such a hidden gem in a great neighborhood.

This school is an absolute gem. The teachers are all extremely experienced, and so far every teacher we've had has hit a good balance between holding kids accountable but also being caring and kind. My child has been inspired by every single teacher she's had (so much so that she now wants to be an elementary school teacher when she grows up). She actually wants to go to school (most days) and is excited to learn.
We also have a fabulous guidance counselor who runs programs on peaceful conflict resolution and anti-bullying. The kids are learning things in elementary school about how to interact with each other that I didn't hear about until adulthood. These kids are growing into well-rounded and compassionate humans. In addition, our new principal, Mrs. Noriega, truly cares about the kids and wants to make every student feel at home.
My child initially went to a different elementary school. Our teacher in that school was brand new, and while well-meaning, they weren't able to deal with the challenges of the pandemic. My child barely learned anything that year (other than how to hate school). We switched to Rolando Park after moving, but I wish we had found Roland Park earlier! Experienced teachers really make a difference.
The school also has a great PrimeTime program run by fabulous teachers.

My children started school here, we were accepted to a charter school and moved. Unfortunately the schools did not fit our needs. Once we made the decision to move, we knew we were going back to Rolando Park. Amazing teachers, amazing staff. We feel very much at home.

I have visited a prospective school for my daughter to transfer to last year. I did not receive the warm welcome I got from the staff at Rolando Park. The principle (Mr. Deluca)is approaching his first complete year there and has many worked wonders there. He brought in many different programs to help the students and family. His standards are high and he challenges his students. I have the utmost respect for the passion he has for my daughter, the students, the staff and the family. He genuinely cares for the family and the community. He is always seen greeting the students and the family before and after school everyday. Something I have never seen at any other school ever. He has brought the magic and life back to the school. The staff is great as well. They are a great compliment to him. Always welcoming and warm. I have been extremely impressed with my experience here and would not even think about relocating my daughter. She is receiving quality lessons in education and respect. I whole heartedly love to thank the staff at Rolando Park Elementary. They have definitely raised the value of this school collectively. The actual ratings is off the charts. Keep up the strong work!!!

The parents are provided with workshops, tactics and techniques to help ensure homework completion and accuracy. It is highly stressed how important homework is and a vital key is parental participation.

I hate to admit it, but my daughter listens to everything her teacher says. Her teacher is a role model as well as a mentor. I would love to learn her secret. This is just from my experience with her teacher. All the teachers exhibit the same caliber. But not only are the teachers effective, the principle is solid as well as the supporting members behind the scenes. The custodian, lunch staff and admin personnel all help provide an ideal learning environment.

Absolutely true!!! My daughters class has a pledge they say every morning. In this they pledge to support, respect and care for each other. This translate into actions I have seen during recesses, field trips and lunch periods. Thank you Mrs. Nieratko for all you are teaching my daughter and myself!!! You are very appreciated.

The leadership all around is top notch. There is no conflicts. The students listen to the staff and the PTA with respect. Courtesies are practiced subconsciously. This is from the strong leadership setting and upholding the standards.

Again, yes completely. Through the school, there are workshops, programs and methods to help with understanding and learning.

While I was in Hawaii, I was heart broken when my oldest son would cry to me about what the other kids were saying to him. Then to find out the teachers were doing nothing about it. Needless to say, he is no longer at that school. I have not heard about nor has my daughter ever came home crying from being bullied. Recently the NED program did a special appearance to Rolando Park. Not because there was bullying issues, but to keep raising awareness and to learn how to be proactive to help eliminate it.

My daughter started pre school at Rolando park , she's a 5th grader now. Each year she has had an amazing teacher. I am so thankful that she's had such caring, strong, and capable teachers . I believe my daughter is an awesome student because she's had the best teachers. The staff is always friendly and make you feel welcome. You can always find the principal greeting parents and students in the morning. . The school is clean and with all the tress, it really is a beautiful campus. We have an awesome PTA, new to our school, they have put together so many cool fundraisers and fun things for the students. I am sad that this is my daughters last year here, but am so thankful that Rolando park has been her school through elementary school, and am looking forward to when my grandson is old enough to start school here.

My daughter brings home homework daily, and it's challenging, but never where she feels she can't do it.

The teachers are amazing. Every teacher my daughter has had , are outstanding. My daughter is an awesome student and that's because she's had awesome teachers .

My daughter is part of the Peace patrol. Students in Peace patrol were given training in how to problem solve, how to talk a problem out and how to spot other children being bullied.

The principal Mr. DeLuca is dedicated to making sure the students get the best education while at Rolando Park. He is always there to answer any questions ,and address any concerns that you might have. He cares about his students and it shows.

In first grade my daughter had a little girl who was picking on her, as soon as I talked to the school it was taken care of, and she's never had a problem again.

Peace Patrol program is an effective tool for the children to be aware of bullying and how to solve conflict.

Home work routines are daily for my first and fifth grade daughters. The quantity is appropriate for their age group.

Teachers at Rolando Park are amazing because they keep parents informed and create opportunities for parents to volunteer in the classroom.

Great programs at Rolando Park that educate our children about bullying, kindness, and compassion. Through Peace Patrol, my fifth grader has developed skills to manage conflict on the playground and classroom.

Amazing!!! I fell in love with this school because it is small and there is a great student teacher ratio. Everyone is welcoming! From Principal DeLuca to the front staff and the teachers and teacher aides, I felt at home!

I know this school has a four star rate out of ten. And this is no worries to me. My son has gone to this school since kindergarten. He feels comfortable there and has grown in many areas. The teachers we've had, kerwin, holton and neirtka have all been caring loving and showed that they want all there students to succeed, and do everything possible to make this happen. My son has tried another school but it didn't feel like home. Not everyone knew each other or got to know each other. The feeling of home as went down a little since our new principle but nothing I would remove my son from. I hope that this school will regain the vaules and the feeling of home and the community that was ince there between staff and parents. Good school.

I was a student at RPE, one of the students that excelled in my graduating class and was a favorable student. RPE, from what I remember, is a safe school for students. I am now in college, attending UCSD, and since I am close to home, when I pass by the neighborhood, nostalgia fills me and I still, to this day, am very grateful for being a part of this school. The teachers are wonderful and caring. They truly care about their students and puts in effort to ensure the students are learning. It is what your students make of it, they had programs and supportive staff who was always there for their students. I learned that I am not alone, that there were others in my situation, and after 9 years, I cherish the friends that I made there. We actually had a disneyland reunion last week, but all in all, RPE is an amazing supportive and safe school.
