This school needs to improve more. The students are disrespectful around other students and around teachers they arent. I just graduated and as a person who went to this school this year the students cuss, date, talk behind students/teachers back, and also fight physically without any teacher knowing. Honestly? Theres intense bullying here aswell. The bullies be hurting the victim, cussing at them, and making fake rumors. Even if u tell a teacher they would always come back and make EVERYONE in your class hate you. I dont recommend this school at all.

Sherman is the Best School to prepare our children at the beginning years of their education!!!
I have three children, two of them were promoted from Sherman and now are in middle school. My last one is still in Sherman. It is rewarding to know that your expectations as parent are fulfill in a school that offers to prepare your children academically in two languages. Sherman is like a big family, Administration, Teachers, Parents and Staff work in collaboration to ensure that every student exceed their own goals. All teachers have high expectations for our children and it makes them realize that “Being successful is great!” My favorite teachers are Mr. Vargas, Mrs. Prudencio and Mrs. Menestrina. They have shown time after time their professionalism. They encourage the children to grow as good citizens, teach discipline, and have constant communication with parents. Principal Caballero, as his last name means in Spanish, is a gentleman, open minded, committed with the immersion program, but mainly with the student’s academic and citizenship performance. Now my three children Speak, Write, Understand and Read both languages fluently and they score proficient in the state testing ELA. If you want your children to be academically prepare for the global future Sherman it’s the strong root they need.

Students speak excellent Spanish? Great but they should be speaking great English. But they aren't and the parent comment about Spanish is why.
No rigorous academic pursuit at this school.

Sherman Elementary is an amazing school filled with caring teachers and an awesome principal. My daughter has been going to Sherman since she was in pre-school and the attention she has gotten from all her teachers has been fabulous. It's great that she is learning spanish at such an early age so that she can continue to grow with being a bi-lingual student.

This school is improving in many ways with their new leader. The Principal listens to all concerns and adresses them. Hopefully soon there will be a more rigorous academic program. The front office needs to work on their interpersonal skills and answering the phones.
