I hate this place so much there are so many fight, most teacher and mean and horrible to the students or are just creepy towards the students. Some teachers at Bonita Vista Middle School may lack the necessary training or motivation to deliver high-quality education. There have been complaints about outdated teaching methods and a lack of engagement in the classroom. Without innovative and effective teaching strategies, students are less likely to be motivated and perform well academically. The school's disciplinary policies have also been a point of contention. There are claims that the policies are either too lenient or inconsistently enforced, which contributes to a chaotic school environment. Students may feel that there are no real consequences for their actions, leading to increased behavioral issues. Not to mention the student safety, Many students feel unsafe or unsupported, which negatively impacts their ability to focus on their studies. The school's failure to effectively address these issues creates a hostile environment for students. The school also doesn’t feed the kids the best food many student have gotten extremely sick from the schools lunch, we have tried to de-bunk the sources of the problem but it has been proven almost impossible to find the root of our problem. Overall I would not recommend this school.

Honestly this school isnt the best for children. Bullying and racism is a big problem, not to mention the fights within. I also have to mention the rude teachers, the ones kids cant learn with.

Bonita Vista Middle School has garnered a reputation as a problematic institution. One of its most glaring issues is its pervasive bullying problem. Students frequently report instances of verbal and physical harassment, creating a hostile environment that impedes learning. Additionally, the school has been plagued by a concerning drug problem, with illicit substances making their way onto campus, putting students' safety and well-being at risk. To compound matters, Bonita Vista Middle School also struggles with a recurring fights problem. Physical altercations between students are all too common, further disrupting the educational environment. These combined issues make it clear that the school is failing to provide a safe and conducive learning environment for its students, raising serious concerns about its overall quality and effectiveness as an educational institution.

I would definitely not recommend this school after teachings of political and other biases that include supporting abortion, defaming Christianity, and so much more, and needs to stop. BVM should've reopened months ago. I am very disappointed with the common core of this school.

Outstanding school. All 3 of my children attended. Great staff!!

Posted: April 17, 2019

My son is kept busy with homework for about an hour and a half every day. I feel like he's challenged and receiving an excellent education.

Posted: April 17, 2019

He loves almost all his teachers. The one he doesn't like is pushing him to grow in different ways.

Seem to be. It hasn't been an issue.

Excellent. These teachers work really hard and provide good content. Family support in valuing education is a crucial component.

The teachers are accepting of everyone and they teach very well, our are also counselors are very helpful. Teachers and staff always step in if there are fights or if someone is being bullied. There are many enjoyable clubs and electives here. I love this school, its better than the others I've gone too.

My son only went to BVM for one year and I have to say, I agree with all other parents regarding homework. There are a couple of teachers that do little to none, but man History and English have been rough, sadly my son hates history and don't get me started on the lack of ability to get their grades inputted into the system. I've pushed my son to take more responsibility for himself. Middle school is a rough couple of years and I also don't feel that the counselors are professional in the way the communicate with children and parents. Hard to find a happy medium, middle school in general isn't known to be the best couple of years.

Too much homework is not effective. At the overload point parents do their kid's homework so their child can go to bed and be done with all the busy work that really is not education.

This school is not unlike other sweetwater schools. I am not sure why there is so much homework. It is excessive and unnecessary. It becomes the parent's homework because kids this age cannot manage on their own. That is my biggest concern and complaint. It looks like a lot of unproductive busy work. My child does homework every day including all day Saturday and Sunday. As a parent I am trying to get homework to a minimum for my child. So far I have been unsuccessful because despite a 504 plan, there have been no modifications. Looking at other options like charter or private. How did we as a society get to the place where no one speaks up and challenges what is just plain wrong. I had to laugh. A teacher commented on why my child's reading log was empty of any reading of books for 2 quarters. Well maybe if the the students were not given so much homework they would have time to read. As it is now the entire educational system is killing my child's desire and joy of learning. Really? An entire generation of kids hate school and learning and we as adults just go along with this and accept it. Sad.

What a horrible school I this is my sons second year going to this school and they are only caring about money. The teachers are good, but they assign a LOT of homework. And the previous principal was so bad they had to replace her. The staff are very strict and don't seem to care about electives. For example, this year my Son finally got woodshop, but they removed it a couple of months later. I tried calling the school to see what the promblem was, but they didn't care! So my son spent the rest of the semester doing WORKSHEETS in his elective class. And the next semester they assigned him yearbook without even asking. Some amazing school this is. Parents Beware! Do yourself a favor and do NOT send you child to this school!

I've had 2 boys go through this school for part of a school year and it's just incredible just how unorganized the office staff is. Registrar to teachers - enrollment process was a joke, confidence in their GATE program was non existent and teachers accountability in recording grades was poor. I felt I had to check and recheck everything everyday. My kid are both smart and in AP classes but it takes a good teacher to "teach"... 8Th graders should not have to glue stick notes etc. how does this prepare them for high school. This rating should be lower than a 7. So glad my boys were able to transfer out and my daughter will NOT attend this school.

I hope the teachers this year are better able to help the children with thier Ipads and I hope they keep thier websites concerning homework up to date. I was emailing a teacher last year, come to find out he never recieved an email because the email address on the school website was incorrect. Not one person figured that out until I brought it up towards the end of the year. BONITA MIDDLE SCHOOL NEEDS SOME MAJOR HELP WITH EVERYTHING!

I am a student at this school, and it is a fun, awesome, and a good school. Most teachers here provide good education, as well as a fun learning enviorment. The new, updated technology is GREAT! (I prefer for adults to know that the students here do get IPads as a replacement for textbooks!). These IPads are great, but most kids all over the district are jailbreaking them. The school has a lot of electives such as Spanish, French, Band, Chorus, and the ASB. The ASB is similar to student council, and its oonly for 8th graders. The school leadership is good, and I wouldnt trade this school for any other! GO CRUSADERS!

I give this school no stars at all. I currently have a 7th grader at this school and he has a 504. The 2nd half of the school year has started and the Counselor and the male AP still have not implemented my son's 504. Not one teacher knows he has a 504, so nothing has been implemented in the class room. It doesn't stop there...Since my son has learning disabilities the school has treated as a disruptive child and is just waiting for him to mess up again so they can expell him. This school is not compliant with the laws set in place to protect kids from falling through the cracks. Do not let the 5 star reviews convince that this school is worthy of your child, you would be better off throwing into a wolf pack and hope your child survives. I went to Bonita, so did my brother and my sister. Bonita used to be a good school, not anymore. It's even sad to look at, very run down, poor athletic fields. There are so many other "good" schools to choose from in the area

BVM, like most schools, are a bit complex. I came back from break to discover my lock and textbooks gone, and while I told the secretaries what happened, they laughed and around. Also, the locker records were super disorganized. Who had what locker and all that, you couldn't discern anything from those. Some of the lockers are really old and rusty as well, and spray painting now comes as no surprise as it happens so often. There's duct tape on the walls from leftover posters, and the paint on many of the buildings are old and chipping. However, once you get pass the gauntlet that is the main office and BVM's rough surface, it really is a wonderful school. Think of it as a small community. All kinds of teachers are there, with varying personalities. There is a huge emphasis on education and school togetherness. The students are of all backgrounds, and there is almost no racial, gender, age, or sexuality tension on campus. Students have the choice to show up for their classes, choose what elective they want, ect. And who could forget the ASB? In 7th grade I thought they were the highlight of the school. I aspired to be one of them, and I will go back in 8th proud to be a member.

These comments must be coming from staff members masquerading as parents or students, this school is average at best. The staff seems to know absolutely nothing daily by phone or in person. Students are singled out I understand the need for rules but enforce them equally across the board. Children are sometimes bullied and it gets swept under the rug because they're scared to speak up, this is sad. My nephew always says the principal remarks we have the best school to which I reply everyone says and think they have the best school. If you want a honest answer opinion let the parents have a chance to voice opinions from time to time..
