The rating in this school woefully misrepresents what a diamond it is. Middle school is no longer awkward, boring and negative - here all students are engaged, intrigued, and social emotional wellness is prioritized.

We have had one incident with bullying which was immediately handled by the principle and my student was told that any future problems he could always come right back to the principal. No incidents again! These guys take your child’s well being seriously.

Major hats of the admin of this school for transitioning leadership AND sites in two school years and keeping the spirit of VIDA intact.

I wouldn’t send my child anywhere else.

As a seventh grader at VIDA, I think this school is very good. The teachers are very supportive and want to teach you. I would recommend the art and stem programs, they are the BEST! You can get the wonderful options for classes that can change your ideas of what you want to do in your life. Plus the many clubs are fun. I mostly feel safe at VIDA, but sometimes, I do hear some small light-hearted insults thrown around, which are meant as jokes or small jabs, but they do sting a lot. I would not say any physical bullies are around that much. Some people do annoy me a lot though, and some are jerks, but we have two counselors to help with your emotional needs. Also an adorable facility dog named Sushi. Overall a good place.

Very good, need to email principal if bullied because no one will do anything about in unless you bring it up to attention.

If you’re “in” I’m sure it's great. However, if you're not “in” it's just that much more hurtful to see how well other children and their families are treated. We are not “in” and I'd rather have let my child duke it out at a regular school than to come here to magnet school and have it highlighted how my family just isn't good enough to get the special treatment some families get. Just guess which families are treated better than others. I, for one,!am happy that we are moving campuses and principals next year but WHOOOOO you should have seen those privileged families panic at the thought of sending their children to the “bad school” when our school merged with the newer but poorer school. Maybe they'll be on the other end of the priveledge next year. I got my popcorn ready and I am hopefully that we get treated better when the change comes.

This is our second year here and we are absolutely in love with the school. It’s is so fun to see how inclusive it is and my child feels very happy and comfortable. She has an IEP and I am so surprised by all the support she receives daily. I love to see how creative and innovative the kids are. I have three more kids that will definitely be following their big sister here.

One parent mentioned that the principal was quick to put an end to bullying of their child. There are some bullies in the school and the leadership knows how to tackle them when they are reported. Students and parents are encouraged to bring specific details with evidences to the school administration for proper action against them.

Most home works are structured and appear to be prepared well. A very few of them are not prepared well - written instructions or sample work or examples are inadequate.

Most of the teachers are guided or trained properly and work professionally well. A very few teachers may be making the school look bad.

This school develops strong character in its students, like integrity, compassion and respect:
The principal has a very good idea of what students can get into during the middle school years and he and the staff are very careful
in developing students of excellent characters or future leaders.
Students are encouraged to think, innovate and develop the public speaking skills.

The Principal is a very effective man.
Compared to other middle school principals (VMMS school principal or RMMS school principal for example) in the district, he is a very strong character and effective leader.
He is quick to solve any issues reported by parents and community members.
The principal is also very good in motivating the staff and students of this school.

May not know how this operates.
But, the innovation part of the school hopefully takes care of students with different learning needs and issues.
