We love this school. The teachers are wonderful and our kids have really flourished here. It was a tough decision to leave, believe the K experience might be better here, but we got a choice lottery spot to our preferred elementary school and didnt want to risk it.

Weve had a wonderful experience with this school. The teachers and staff are incredibly caring, and from the very beginning, we felt truly at home. Its a warm, supportive environment where our daughter is happy and thrivingwe trust her here completely.

Our son went to this school from age 4 to 8 and our daughter has been going from age 3 to now (almost 7). We plan to keep her at MSSD through 1st or 2nd grade before she ages out and we go to our neighborhood public school. We have been absolutely thrilled with the level of care and quality of education at this school that we have seen since Fall 2018 through Spring 2025 and have nothing but positive things to say. Admin used to be more paper based but this year they switched to using Brightwheel for communication and sign ins, and we only love the school and it's teachers more for it.

The amount of individual attention students receive it outstanding, especially for the K-3 kids. Compared to other private schools, MSSD is a very good value. I've heard so many parents say how this school is a "gem", and I agree.

My daughter loves the
Montessori school of San Diego. She has been going here since she was 3 years old and is doing amazing! She can read so well! She loves reading and math and I love how everything is at their own pace. Couldn't be happier with this school!

There's too much emphasis placed on teaching kids to read and write but the not enough on emotional growth and socialization. Children as young as 3 and 4 are punished by timeouts, frowns and finger wagging while "the good kids" are showered with warm hugs and extra attention. Overall, there's not enough supervision of the teaching staff. Some of the teachers spend half the day chatting with one another or with certain parents.

I agree with the previous reviewers regarding the quality of this school. My daughter has been here for nearly a year and I am so impressed that she is reading small words and even spelling them. Moreover, she truly enjoys going to school as not only do they do work, but they have fun activities! The teachers have longevity, which I feel is very important. Many of them have been there for 15-20 years! I would definitely recommend sending your child to this school.

Okay, I am through my 3rd child. First one I sent to two different Montessori schools, because we moved. The first school i loved (in a different state), -- did not like the second one here in San Diego at all (scripps ranch location). My second child attended Montessori School of San Diego. Since I had other schools to compare it to (not being a first time mom), I realized it to be the jewel that it is. Anyone who goes here, especially after they leave, will realize it as a jewel that they were privileged to find. Believe me, you will not find a better school for early education any where in San Diego.

My daughter is in her second year here and is THRIVING. We started preschool at 3 at a traditional play-based school, and she hated going to school and it was a struggle. We switched to Montessori the next semester, and now she LOVES school! She is learning a ton and has developed and fabulous amount of self esteem by being able to do things herself. We are constantly approached by strangers commenting on how articulate she is. Miss Patti and Miss Biljiana are very nurturing and calm which creates a great learning environment for the kids. The teachers are also well educated and really pay attention to each child's individual needs.

I have 2 boys that attend the Montessori School of San Diego. I feel like I won the lottery or something. This school has been heaven sent to us. Some people might say it is too academic for a child, but I feel that the montessori environment has let my children thrive at their own pace. My five year old is reading chapter books and LOVES it. Mrs. Samiya and Ms. Maria are truley living up to their talent. I could not ask for better teachers.
