We have three children at this school and we are very happy with our decision to enroll them here. All three of them have fantastic teachers who communicate with parents regularly. Our kids were warmly welcomed into the community and now love going to school. Class sizes are great and there are plenty of activities and clubs to enrich the academic experience.

Our family is so thankful for TCCS. The teachers and staff are helping us train and educate our children with biblical principals and values that will help them continue to thrive as they get older.

We also love the friendships our kids are making in their classes and on sports teams.

This school literally saved both of my kids. Our oldest was attending Aviara Oaks and hated everything from the dis-interested administrative office to the woke teachers who think science is whatever they say it is. She was so depressed that we thought we would need to get her therapy. We found TCCS online and after visiting, enrolled her at her request. It took just a couple of weeks to see the miraculous difference. Today she is a straight - A student taking a very tough curriculum and has won multiple awards in athletics.

Simaraly, our youngest was attending Pacific Rim and struggling in her core subjects, after one final email exchange with her teacher who essentially said that it "wasn't her problem" I moved our little one to TCCS where she is now getting solid B's in math, reading and English versus C's and D's at Pac Rim. Her recent MAP scores are proof enough to be that it's not that Pac Rim had "higher standards", it's simply that her teacher's at TCCS are invested in the success of their students.

It's an insult to have to pay over and above some of the highest property taxes in the country to send your kid to a decent school in California, but the results I've seen are well-worth the cost.

I had one son that went to Sage Creek and another that went to Carlsbad HS. I wish I had known about TCC earlier so my older son didn't have to go through the Public school system. My older son ended up hating school and didn't go to college. My younger son that went to TCC for 11 and 12th is thriving in college and making straight A's in Engineering classes. As a freshman he is taking CAL3 and acing it. I don't understand why public schools can't be ran more like private school systems with the desire for kids to go on to a higher education. Shame on Sage Creek and Carlsbad for their poor performance. Even when Carlsbad knew they were loosing a straight A student they didn't care but I'm sure if it was their star quarter back it would be a different story. They have their priorities in the wrong places and forget what school is for. TCC is based on proper moral and honorable standards and really look out for the best interest of the student and thrive on seeing students excel and prepare them to go on to the next levels of education not just to get them through.

We enrolled our oldest daughter last year and her experience has been amazing. This year we enrolled our youngest daughter, and she is also doing great. The school has a small town feeling where you tend to know everyone. We really enjoy that. The amount of Christ based teachings is perfect. We love this school!

We have been a TCCS family since 2008. Our experience has been wonderful with many lifelong friendships made, not just for my children, but also with other parents and staff. My current college student (K-12 at TCCS) was very well prepared for college - academically, spiritually, emotionally, and socially. So thankful for this school!

There may be fewer resources available at TCCS for students with significant learning differences or specialized needs when compared to the resources available at some public schools. However, teachers are very attentive to the learning needs of each individual student and support staff is available for additional academic help or an added reading/math challenge for those students who could benefit.

I love this school. It has been a blessing to my child for a HS. Not only has it challenged her because now she MUST study to get the A grades (college prep); she joined a sport (kids encouraged to try/play ALL sports); She has an AWESOME clutch of solid Christian friends (no, we are not all perfect so chill out that some are on their own journeys with a few bumps in the road. God looks at your heart and perfection is not possible at this age; only JESUS perfect human); the teachers care, the administration cares and the parents are VERY, VERY involved in all kinds of activities to make our school GREAT! I'm glad that I'm surrounded by parents who care enough to be part of the community that makes things happen here. I love this school. I'm even leaving them money in my will!

Our daughters went to a different school in early years. When we arrived at TCCS for high school, the girls needed to make friends there. We found the best way to do that was to join activities- sports, journalism, drama, etc. As parents, we credit TCCS with helping our daughters prepare well academically for college. Specifically the AP classes taught helped them get into college and skip a semester. In addition the close working relationships and accessibility to teachers and staff helped them learn to communicate well. This gave them the skills to be able to work well with their college professors. Finally the college guidance they received was very good. I would recommend TCCS to others as our daughters flourished there.

Tri-City is a toxic environment for students. I attended the school for seven years, graduated from there, and retain a group of friends from the school. It is a frequent problem among teachers and administrators to single students out, and make them feel insignificant, and like problems who cannot be fixed. Christian values are not present, and frequent shaming for insignificant infractions are made huge and insurmountable issues that cause stress among even the brightest students. Many students have gone on to develop problems after high school that I believe stemmed from the environment at Tri-City. It is a closed-off bubble that is run like a military academy; instead of inspiring Christian virtues the school teaches a hostile and argumentative fundamentalist Christianity that is not compatible with the modern era.

Our family loves Tri-City Christian School! We have four children, each in a different grade level--high school, junior high, elementary AND preschool--each in a different sport. As you can imagine, the one-stop-drop-off is very convenient for this busy mama. My kids like that they get to see each other on occasion throughout their day, and the uniforms make getting ready each morning so easy. But what makes this school truly special is the close-knit community and biblical worldview that is woven into every subject, event and activity. We have complete confidence that our children will not only be prepared for college upon graduation, but for this life and beyond.

As parents we could not be happier with our choice to send our children to Tri City Christian Schools. Our oldest daughter attended a different private school for K-2 & both of our daughters were in the public system for the next 4 years (both elementary & middle schools with 10 ratings). The education they have received at TCCS far surpasses that of the public system. The small classes sizes as well as the dedicated teachers who share in our faith & enthusiasm for christian education, has made all the difference. The emphasis on spiritual growth with the addition of the bible classes, chapels, small groups, & mentors has created an atmosphere that our girls could feel safe & thrive both academically and personally. Both are involved in the sports programs, one is excelling in the arts & the other in the multi-media. The choice to send our girls to TCCS was not made lightly & has impacted our family finances, but we have no regrets. In fact, we believe wholeheartedly that the this is the best & most important decision we have made for our children... one that will impact them for the rest of their lives.

I agree with all the postings in regards to Tri-City Christian. I am happy with the academics and moral education. I am very concern with the bullying atmosphere at this school, almost gang mentality by kids attending this school since Kindergarten, cruel, mean spirited and bullies. I enrolled a beautiful girl in with great skills and self esteem but I noticed significant change in her personality. NOT GOOD! She has been made fun of via internet, at school few girls are her friends because she is not part of their little circle because she is new and different(blended family). Her best friend is moving to Solana Beach same story, she invited my daughter to move-out of this school. I am going to get more involved but its hard with my schedule, As a parent I am super concern because she believes that she needs to be thought and strong if she stays? DON'T LIKE THIS I WANT MY DAUGHTER HAPPY!!!! I don't want to find a new school, I hope the pricipal addresses what bullying looks like:( frustrated parent

TriCity Christian School is an incredible asset to the academic environment in North County. Along with solid Christian values, they provide quality academics (85%+ pass rate for AP classes), superb staff and highly competitive athletics. My son has attended TCCS from 1rst to 9th grade. This school was a great choice when he was a little guy and I was a busy professional, and it remains awesome today. Private schools have had to make changes due to our suffering economy and TCCS is not an "elite" institution in terms of it's constituency. That is one of it's best features... It has a great mix to help our children learn some real world truths in a safe atmosphere. Reading prior reviews, I sense that some recent changes have been hard to swallow for some. Change always has detractors but to my way of thinking, TCCS is being purposefully and prudently managed. It was not always so, and I am thankful to tell you it is now. I have volunteered in many areas and am always finding points of pride. The teachers teach with Jesus in their hearts and their desire is to help the students excel. It is not easy to pay tuition when public school is paid by tax $, but really, where else should we invest our $ but in our child's hearts and minds? TCCS, with rigorous academics, inclusive athletics and elevating art programs is the best value in San Diego County to my way of thinking. Thank you, TCCS!

GREAT friendships have been made. Teachers are caring and very capabale beyond a doubt. No perfect schools, perfect people. My family has had a great experience at TCCS, BUT the admin that has taken over the last 6 yrs has created a repressive spirit/low morale over our precious teachers! Things aren't so "Christian." You have to stick up for your brothers and sisters. We are called to stand for truth on all levels. If you only have a myopic view of your kids happiness than you will not relate to this review. Life is more than your kid "making the team" or "getting a scholarship". Forget sharing your concerns at school board meetings; you'll be labeled divisive. Don't get involved unless you want truth or you don't mind your kid getting a detention for having on the wrong collar, wrong socks, etc. It's provoking to teens; it puts a label on them as not being good enough and turns them from respecting "Christian" authority. They are judged for things Jesus could less about. Ask those who have retired and couldn't wait to leave after 20+ years if u want truth. My apologies to the teachers who remain faithful to our kids! Finally a Christian school that puts The Lord first! We are so blessed to have our children involved in a school that is academically challenging, offers all sorts of sports and student activities, and communicates almost daily to the parents via email. I have a student in elementary, junior high, and high school. The school uniforms take a lot pressure off the stress of what to wear each morning.

Teachers are great, but the environment is toxic. I almost cried when my daughter told me she felt like the world had been lifted off her shoulder when starting the new school year. She has increased self-confidence and self-esteem since leaving. She thought it was her fault the other students picked on her but has has no problems this year. TCCS is not the Christian environment I was expecting.

Watching what has happened the past couple years with such great quality families coming to the school has really reinforced our decision to stay here until our kids graduate. I went to this school from kindergarten to senior year (13 years) and played Football, Basketball, and Track and Field for the Eagles. After attending college I am proud to say that Tri-City Christian has prepared me immensely for college and provided me with skills and lessons I could apply to my life to keep me on the right path with my Christian faith. Also the Athletics get better and better every day winning more and more championships every-year due in part to the amazing Godly coaches i had the privelage of playing under. Also in response to the criticisims by some that our school is quote "Clique-y" and has "Bullying problems" after 13 years of being at the school I have not even once been victim to or even seen a hint of these but rather my senior class was always thanked for how much we welcomed younger kids and brought them up along side us. Most people that hold these complaints already have a predisposition towards Tri-City Christian for some unknown personal reason that is unrelated to the school. I could not have asked for a better Godly Christian Education than that I got of Tri-City Christian. ENROLL YOUR KIDS NOW they will thankyou later I promise :)

After reading the comments, I was amazed. This school has one of the highest tuitions and it is only going to go up under the current administration. I took my daughter out of this school because of the bullying. My daughter used to come home crying every day and administration did nothing to help her. People are leaving because there is a problem. Wrong person in charge.

We have 3 children at Tri-City. We just got out of chapel for our daughter. The Pastor talked about how Jesus is the bridge between death to life. The children sang and performed wonderfully. We feel The Spirit of community here. When one part of the body suffers, we suffer with them. When someone rejoices, we rejoice with them. Thank you, staff, for your continued commitment to HIM.

We are extremely pleased with the school. It really is the lowest priced private school in the area. We did alot of research and found the price to be very reasonable. The teachers are amazing. It was neat to see that 100 percent of the students last year ALL went to very good colleges. They have a great program to prepare our children for college, starting even at 7th grade to help the students and guide them to the right career. Thanks Tri City, we love you.

We have two children at tri city and are very happy. We love the new uniforms. We paid approx. $200 per child for the uniforms, less than what we pay for regular clothes at Justice. The teaching is Christ centered. Bullying is not tolerated. They assigned a family to us when we first started to make us feel at home. We are all family in Him.. I was so touched when a dad passed away last year and the whole school rallied around the family. Praise God for Prayer. By the way God hates those that cause division.

LOVE THIS SCHOOL!! My son graduated in 2011, and my daughter is finishing 12th grade this year. I am pleased with the way the admin handles parent issues, and understand that issues/requests must be prioritized. Admin has been wonderful in accomodating my daughter's special needs to the best that it can. Teachers are available for help, and all go the extra mile for the kids. Although many parents don''t understand the concept of running the school as a business (even though it's very Christian), I applaud the decision, as it is absolutely necessary in order to run "in the black." My daughter is thriving, despite the work-load, because she is challenged, surrounded by like-minded kids who really care for her, and known by her teachers who reach out to help her often. Some families have been displeased for different reasons, but I am convinced that this school is an excellent choice for any family that has determined that a Christ-loving environment is what they want.

We have 2 kids at TCCS, one on the elementary campus and one on the secondary campus. Our oldest attended another school when she was younger and we have been so happy with our decision to have both kids at the same place. There is an amazing presence of God's work at the school in the classrooms, activities, sports, and with the teachers. All you have to do is look at programs kids are offered, the missions they go on, and the impact they have in their communities, and it is clear what the focus is. Private school is an investment and when we see the quality of the kids who graduate each year, and relationships our family has with others at the school, we love the returns we have seen and look forward to many more.

Both of my children currently attend this school and will not be returning. This is not a christian based school and they do not enforce rules. They care more about the children having the outwear with the TCCS logo than they do about the serious bullying problem that is happening. For the 2012-2013 school year, they have raised the tuition yet again and are forcing the parents to purchase uniforms thru a specific company so they can get kick backs. They are very greedy and I would not recommend this school!

My son has been attending Tri City since his Kindergarten year. He is now in 7th grade. We are VERY happy! I read many comments on some of the difficult choices the school has had to make. I respect them! God calls us to be good financial stewards and as a result, yes, cuts had to be made. But I have NEVER had a teacher or leader at Tri City that did not show their love and support to my son. The encouragement and support has been amazing! Any teacher or coach my son has had shows their first priority - to Love his student as Christ does and to influence my son for for Christ. My son is excelling and becoming a Godly young man. I attribute a lot of this to the Godly influence he gets each day while at school. They say when you find a perfect school, church etc. leave! We'll ruin it... I keep hearing horror stories regarding the ungodly influence in the public school. I haven't seen any of it as of yet at Tri City! Thank you Lord for providing so miraculously for our boy to attend Tri City! Come, give it a peek, talk to parents and teachers & I'm sure you will find what we have!! My children currently attend Tri City, we are happy in a lot of areas, but the constant increase in tuition, the inequitable enforcement of school rules and dress code and now the requirement of specific uniform companies has left us disenchanted. The cost is prohibitive if you have more than one child and want to be able to save for college and retirement.

Qt one time, TCCS was a jewel of a school. I enrolled my son there due to excellent reviews. I WOULD NOT do that again. Teachers and administrators are not responsive to parent requests. If you choose to enroll your JH or HS student there expect to throw family life out the window. The homework load is overwhelming (and much of it is busy work). My child does not have time to attend church youth group, will have to quit his particular sport this year, has stayed home from school 2 days this year so far just to catch up on assignments and have enough time to prepare for tests. We had to cancel a planned Thanksgiving vacation because teachers assigned enough homework over the break that it was not worth paying high priced hotel fees to sit in and study. Although I asked for extensions, teachers responded with an absolute "no" ... one of them in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. Tuition goes up every year and yet we are treated as a food trough instead of valued clients. The primary reason I chose TCCS was the 7-12 campus because I believe the less time a child moves schools, the better. I have a tough decision to make. Moving my child will break his heart; leaving him will break mine.

The review below "Private School with a cross" could not be farther from the truth. I'm sorry if the person had a bad experience and I hate to see another student leave, but we've been attending TCCS since 1997 and we LOVE IT! To have your children love their school and love learning about Christ is an amazing thing. The parents and teachers are amazing too. It's like one big family under God. The admin had to make some very tough choices (I would not want to be in their shoes) and had to cut some positions. The economy is bad and people can't afford private school and it is very sad because we've lost many wonderful people. We hope and pray things will turn around and we can start to grow again. The admin I feel is doing their best to save $ and keep tuition down. I can understand some people thinking TCCS spends too much on sports unless sports are important to your family. My son or daughter would not want to attend a school with no sports programs and neither would I and let me tell you TCCS has awesome sports programs! Great academics and a strong Christian environment!

We've been at TCCS for over 10 years but will be leaving as TCCS has unfortunately become nothing more than a Private School with a cross. The pastor of the church no longer supports TCCS, no longer leads the worship, and has told us that the school and church have a mutual agreement to leave each other alone. The new leadership at TCCS has mismanaged funds in favor of sports at the expense of academics, has raised tuition many times and openly abused (verbally) both parents and staff. Many good teachers have been let go and enrollment has dropped to near 1/2 its peak before the new administration's arrival. This is NOT a coincidence nor a result of the current economy. It is too bad that the non-Christian elitist attitude of TCCS leadership has corrupted what was once the jewel of Christian education in North County.

Absolutely wonderful & dedicated teachers, the majority of support staff are good too. The administration & school board aren't as responsive to the needs of parents & students as they should be. This is so despite the many respectful & polite suggestions & complaints aired by parents at school board meetings. The superb teachers desire better support than they are getting from admin. This was once a great school, presently a cornucopia of issues & many new rules, strictly enforced, make it feel more like a military school than the wonderful Christian environment it was for so many wonderful years. We hope that it can turn things around for the sake of all concerned & will be praying that things will get better.

I have had my children here for 5 years and are having to make the change to another school due to the changes that are occurring at the school. The administration does not listen to the parents and make quick corrections. 5 years ago, the elementary campus had over 600 students and 3 classes per grade, now it is down to under 250 and 2 classes per grade. Tuition has gone up and the services provided has decreased dramatically. The library used to have a paid librarian, now it is run by parent volunteers. If you want your child to be safe during recess, this is not the place since most of the staff was let go last year and now they are relying on parent volunteers to keep things safe. The curriculum is at least a year behind other private schools in the area and if you have a child who is smart, they will be bored. School is geared more towards the middle to low student. If you are concerned about security, they just spent $60,000 to get a gate in front and cameras to watch the gate, not how I would have spent the $60K since many of the class portables have dry rot and will fall apart at any time. Love the teachers, just cannot tolerate paying more and getting less.

Great school. Our children have attended for four years and are now in 7th and 10th grades. The 10th grader is in Honors classes and we are contacted by top ten colleges for admittance in programs and scholarships. We do not find it "clicky" at all. IN fact we cannot partipate as often as we'd like due to work schedules and other parents are warm, loving, giving and not judgemental. We are blessed to have the school and the parents in our lives. The teachers are outstanding and really care about each student and their circumstances. After much research we've found the academics far stronger than the public education available locally.
