Safety is my concern. The safety officer is more concerned about his popularity than serving as a safety officer. Please staff with an experience officer versus one who has shot two boys. The officer couldn’t protect himself! He uses his weapon.

The school social worker is known as the town gossip and not well respected. Please investigate before D 38 lands themselves in court as a result of her actions.

Some of the administration and teachers truly care and others (Chris Kintz) would rather win the wiener waving contest than do what is right for kids. I’ve never met an educator less oriented towards growth and learning. Thank goodness he is gone this year! Maybe the kids will get a break from the relentless dress coding and random lectures/punishment simply because he had a Napoleon complex.

Why wouldn't the principal allow the students to reschedule the prom from 2020 at the Boot Barn during COVID to 2021? The Student Council lost $19k as a result of the Principal not allowing the students to reschedule! Poorly managed I must say.

Don't ever send your kid here unless it has a disability.Other then that they don't have anything good about this school.Also don't send your kid here even if it does have a disability not as severe because there nothing in between those your kid would be in regular classes.they won't even help you
but DC short for Discovery Canyon is way better because they have everything from kids that need more help to more of a normal environment LP is just awful they could care less the only good teacher there is Mrs. Kavanha because she was like to me it's not your fault that Mrs. Kinard is not figuring out your math she is the best Mrs.Knard is awful she is rude annoying and there are other stuff oh and she like to get in to your business

Parents receive prompt communication from teachers when they need to be involved and the teachers relate with the students well. The teachers are well-trained and knowledgable. You can tell there was actually in interview process and the candidate was chosen versus just filling a position with the first person who showed an interested like the other high school in this district.

Mr. Karr has shown a great interest in students, teachers, and parents concerns and has started addressing concerns with those that can make an impact, like the Board of Education, which has helped to resolve issues. When communicating effectively with the right heart-attitude, you can accomplish so much more than closing parents off, isolating children, and thinking that you are always right. Thanks Mr. Karr for showing us there is a better way!

There is no bullying at LPHS. Why? Because it is not tolerated by administration, teachers, and students. It is a top-down approach.

Exceptional. Nothing less than exceptional. This school has class and grace. Boundaries are set and followed. LPHS has standards when hiring teachers and coaches. It is a team approach. LPHS's has expectations and they continuously exceed those due to the high quality of staff that work (I use that word losely because they make learning fun) at LPHS. LPHS is undoubtedtly, the BEST high school in D38...academics, athletics, and all around citizenship...handsdown!!!

Coming from a student's point of view, this is a horrible school. They claim to be one of the highest ranking schools in Colorado. Personally, I highly disagree and I don't understand why. The education is so sub par (granted it could be worse but compared to other districts, it is very lacking in quality and advancement of education). For example, going into this school as a freshman I decided to take Honors English 1. After taking this class, I was completely confused as to why they would call it an honors class, because it is the exact same as regular English. There was no challenge. Honors students were reading the exact same books and doing the exact same work, the only difference was the name of the class. In addition to this, my teacher was useless and didn't really teach. She told us a page in a text book and expected us to figure it out from there and no teaching. The entire year I had no idea what was going on and my teacher was of no use. And the saddest thing of all about having to be at this trash school is that the teachers only get worse. My teacher was one of the good ones apparently. Both the math and English depart are the literal embodiment of trash because of how horrible the teachers are. When their students fail, they blame it on the students and not on the fact they have no idea how to teach. The entire class could fail and it's the students fault. The teachers and administrators do. Not. Listen. To the students. Don't even get me started on the security, which is the stupidest thing. There are only two security guards and they're nice but they care more about someone wearing a hat in the building than the actual safety of the students it seems like. They care more about the kid they've seen going to the school for months forgetting their ID than they do about the kids smoking pot on school grounds. If you're wanting to take a language be careful about which one you choose, because German and French 1 are definitely terrible with the teacher currently teacher them. Prior to coming to Lewis Palmer, I was supposed to be in French 2 because I had already taken French 1. However, Lewis Palmer does not offer French 2 to freshman, so I was stuck taking a repeat course. And it was one of the worst experiences of my life. The teacher was so bad and mean, that I no longer have the desire to take a language ever again. Consider carefully.

This school has been great for my kids. There seems to be a place for everyone to get involved and have fun. Whether sports is their thing, or any of the many clubs, or just helping others. Our kids came out of here college-ready and with great opportunities for success.

My child is very comfortable at school. The Lewis-Palmer High School is a great place to send your kids. They make the children feel comfortable to be themselves and my son cant stop talking about how great the food is. He fit right in and is making so many new friends.

Lewis Palmer has been home to my oldest son who graduated two years ago and my other son who is a senior. We couldn't be happier with the support and academic achievement they offer. It is a safe environment where it is cool to be smart. In spite of the budget cuts, they are holding up the quality though the teachers do seem to be overworked. I hope we pass our new bond to help out this year.

LPHS is a warm and welcoming school where academic achievement is celebrated and bad behavior is discouraged. We are currently living in another school district but have opt'd into LPHS because of it history, legacy, athletic department, academic excellence and friendly warm staff. My son is a freshman and we just love the Monument community.
