Cant recommend this school. Kids dont feel safe there and their security is a joke. After school fights and bullying is very common. Stay away from if you want a good education.

Absolutely disgusted with the lack of communication the school has with the parents! I have been fighting with getting my daughter the help she needs she has trauma from when she was a kid has been diagnosed with ODD for behavior and I fought really hard to get her into therapy to get adhd medication to help with her attention disorder. Ive emailed and asked for a 504 or iep. Which she qualifies for both and was told that not how they do things and that this is an issue they are having with all the kids after e learning. Well Im not concerned that all the kids are having issues my priority is my child. The lack of support this school is willing to give iss disgusting. I get no emails about grade Ive asked to be able to get a portal login Ive been sent 3 different places to do that still dont have one. The only time I am even notified about my child is because the teacher dont like her attitude. So it is clear they have the ability to notify me they just pick and choose when too. At their convenience no convenience for the kids or their education. The lack of help you get with a child who needs the help is a reason not to put your kids in this school. At this rate Im sure my child is going to be labeled a bad because the lack of support the school is willing to give. I have been fighting since September/ October she still isnt on any plan and Ive brought it up which means they have so many days to get it done and was pushed aside and told that she was on an intervention program which they would check in in 6 weeks its been 7 and I have heard nothing! This school is terrible!

Bullying by students is tolerated and some staff are just as guilty by creating demeaning nicknames.
Posted: February 6, 2017
The school did not advocate for our child, merely looked for the most cost effective approach. Advocacy is not a strong suit.

This school clearly prefers the easy road.

Kids are allowed to bully and make fun of other students with no intervention.

Although there are some great teachers there, one bad apple spoils the whole bunch.

Our daughter has attended the 6th grade where she has an active IEP. Kids were allowed to make fun of her in class openly and teacher assigned an offensive nickname that she was always called upon as. It even went so far as to we pulled her out of the school and district and teacher announced she would be leaving and all kids cheered Yay, she is leaving in class. Middle School is hard enough when you don't have a disability, but made even worse when those suppose to build confidence and support you encourage and add to the problems.

depends on the teacher and their additude, and what they teach and if they actually like what they do

When the staff lies and makes excuses, it encourages the same behavior from the students.

Watson is TERRIBLE!! Teachers can pick up students personal objects and throw them across the room and nothing gets done about it, students get threats from other students saying they are going to kill them and the staff takes their time in taking care of the issue, other parents use the bus lanes to drop off kids all the time nothing is said to them, but, you get talk to about not using it. The assistant principal responds with about the teacher throwing personal belongings with " well she never acted like that with my kids." does not take common sense to see of course she would not treat your kids like that, your her boss.
This school is just Terrible!

No complaints at all from my kids. In fact they loved it so much here, they would like to come back!! The teachers are great, caring and attentive to student needs. My kids always had positive comments about their math and social studies teachers, they actually had FUN while learning! Teachers and administrative staff are always open to meeting with parents and legal guardians.

Depends on the subject taught and teacher structure of classroom. Some teachers have years of experience and know what works for some students and what doesn't. Their passion for teaching and working with a diverse population is apparent, while others don't.

Watson Junior High is an AMAZING school. Parent or gaurdian of a student take a chance and bring them to Watson. Teachers make the classes fun and some students might say ''I hate school'' or ''This is boring''. I am a student and the staff is very nice and caring. Electives are very fun and there is so much to choose from. Come to Watson and you will see yourself.

It's a good school that does it's very best to meet the needs of its students with GREAT teachers that love their students. A bit of a problem with bullying though. -Student
