This school has been such a blessing to our life. I disagree with the special needs comment. I have an Autistic child and a dyslexic child attending ECA. The staff has bent over backwards to work with me and my kids. My son who graduated form ECA got high scholarships to private engineering colleges. ECA has rigorous academics but is also willing to make accommodations if needed. I also love the families who attend, we have made some great friends. The new head of school is really taking them in the right direction. I have 9 children 7 have attended ECA we homeschooled for 15 years, I'm very picky of where I would put my kids and this was definitely the place for us. We receive scholarships for our big family. The staff at this school cannot be beat they actually care about your kids.

ECA has wonderful teachers and staff. Everyone knows our family and children well and we feel very supported in the difficult task of raising our children. The academics are good and we like that it’s a classical school, but most importantly that our kids are learning scripture and who God is.

ECA is a wonderful community to be a part of. I feel like in today's world, it's a safe and nurturing environment when many schools around it are nothing of the sort. I would encourage any Christian parent to go and tour just to see what ECA is really about.

Hi, My child used to attend ECA. I was sad to see the criticisms of ECA. I do not want to criticize, but I can understand why some of these things are being said. I do see a wonderful place for ECA, if your child is the type of child they seek for the ECA Community. If your child has any special needs, this is not the place. Do not even try. You will give and give and fall further behind without support. No school can meet the needs of every child so please make sure this is a match for your child before starting. If your child has learning needs, dyslexia, sensory issues, autism, even high functioning autism, unless they make some changes, this is not the place for you and I say that with sadness. Having said that, here is a note to the ECA community. You can meet this need. I ran the numbers myself, and it would not take much to meet the need. By doing so, you can support more children and their families, and increase income per capita at ECA. I wish you well.

Out all the schools that I have been to in my life this one was the worst. Find a school that will lay the ground work for your child to go to college and save your money and do not send them here. I am so glad that my parents wised up and took us out of there when they did because I learned more in my last two years of high school than I did my entire time at ECA. I know that most of my friends that graduated from here regretted their time, and I would beg you to not do that to your child. It's not healthy.

Most of the homework at this school is just busy work that forces students to waste their time, and does not improve their understanding of the subject.

Many of these teachers are good people, but they have no clue how to really teach the class. Also, with the classical form of teaching there is a reason why they are the "Only Christian Classical school" because the classical system is outdated and puts students behind on what college and the real world are really like. Many of the teachers play favorites and treat everybody differently. Some can be very rude to students and generally disrespectful.

I was a former student and I was at ECA all the way up till my Junior year, and there is a major bullying problem at this school. The overall vibe is toxic and obviously the parents say it is good because the student body hides what really goes on from the adults.

It was not at all with the school coming close to bankruptcy multiple times. They even were so desperate that they wanted each family to "donate" $1000 more on top of tuition. If you can't balance your books on the gross income that you gain that is the first sign of a failing business.

It's the only classical school so come on. This school is formed around one way to think and one way only. So if you choose this school for your child make sure that they can succeed in this environment, otherwise you will be setting them up for failure.

While I was there I don't think I ever saw or herd anyone get punished by the faculty. Except for once when there was a high schooler that would pick on all the junior high school, and the staff refused to do anything about it until one of the larger junior high schoolers had enough and legit fought the high schooler. Both ended up getting in trouble even though this issue could have been solved months before if the school cared at all.

The Christian and biblical curriculum is great, however all of the other academics and curriculum needs some work, along with the disciplinary issues, faculty and staff, etc. The elementary school was very good, but the secondary/high school needs a dramatic change to be successful again.

Natural leaders stand out, while those who aren’t natural leaders do not get hands-on experience in developing leadership qualities, just some biblical lectures on the qualities of leaders.

I’ve known quite a few students who had disabilities, and they were swept under the rug with just a small amount of help. There are no qualified teachers there to adequately help students with learning disabilities.

There is little to NO discipline when it comes to bullying, maybe just a minor talk/warning that does nothing to resolve the situation.

Kids are held accountable to these ideas, but when a kid does make a poor choice or mistake and they are sorry, there is desire to restore them again and let them learn from those mistakes.

It has been and continues to be a blessing to my children. I have a graduate studying engineering and he is flourishing. My kids are in classes with children of former graduates, that seems to me to be a strong endorsement for the school!

ECA has overall been a wonderful school experience for my two sons. There is no perfect school but our time at ECA has shown that the majority of teachers and staff have a heart for their students and point their students to Christ in all aspects of academics and extracurricular activities. My oldest graduated well prepared for college and received many scholarships for academics and activities. However, no matter how good a school is, you have to be willing to put in the work with a good attitude and understand that as Christians, we are all sinners saved by grace and should be willing to show that grace to the teachers and administration even when there are disagreements. When you enroll your child, it is clearly stated what their doctrine beliefs are, so to then criticize them for teaching that doctrine is unfair. I highly recommend this school to any Christian family that is looking to send their children to a school that strives for excellence (though not perfectly) and truly wants to see your child succeed.

We had a good experience at the elementary but the secondary was lacking in many areas and needs work if the school is to thrive. We left on a hard note after over 10 years. Too bad.

The secondary school underwent a transition a few years ago to its Omnibus program and the students were buried in homework. If you play a sport plan to get about 6 hours of sleep at night because you will be up late doing homework.

The fake 5 star reviews that were written by administrators and teachers posing as parents and students seem almost real until you take a closer look at them. You will notice that most of the 5 star reviews are short and not too individual. In fact, lots of them have wording copy and pasted right from the ECA website. In contrast the 1 star reviews seem real and genuine from real people that were hurt deeply. ECA is extremely dysfunctional. I will say the superintendent is doing a great job of running a school into the ground. I think he will have the doors completely closed in about 3-5 years at the pace they are losing students at. If you are a Christian parent that wants a Christian education for your children do not go here. You have been warned.

Once our son adjusted to the workload he seems to be able to complete most assignments on time. The study hall period is very helpful and Mrs. Singleton does a great job helping our son be successful with knowing the expectations.

This is our first year at ECA. Our son is an eighth grader and although there has been an adjustment period, he is now doing well. I am impressed by the commitment and follow through to help him succeed. He makes positive comments quite frequently regarding his academic experiences! I am grateful that we have found this school. Everyone from the shuttle driver to the school administration has been supportive and encouraging!

I have a strong desire for my children to experience the love and truth of the Lord in all the major institutions of their lives - family, church, and school. The faculty and staff of ECA provides this experience along with a top-tier education.

The school has to promote those values because it is basing it's motivations and goals on the Bible. If God's Word acts as the backdrop for everything you do, honesty, integrity, and fairness are a natural by-product of that.

My daughter has been attending since first grade and she thrives in the ECA culture. The love of Christ is evident through the administration and teachers down to the students. It encourages me as a father to see a school so dedicated to upholding the Bible and everything it stands for.

ECA is a family that strives to glorify God in all areas. My first years of teaching were at ECA and now my children attend. The teachers are caring and understanding. If you live in Colorado Springs, you should certainly take a look at ECA and consider sending your children, or applying for a job.

If you want a school that is Christ focused this is not the school for you. I have attended ECA forever. If I walked into the halls I wouldn't have known that it was a Christian school. For me there was no spiritual guide at this school. And they hold to strongly to there doctrine and teach it as if is true. And they are moving to a Classical Education which sucks and it would be better being Common Core.

What a gem you have in ECA, Colorado Springs. My daughter attended ECA for Kinder and 1st Grade. When we moved away from ECA (we are a military family), she was way ahead in every subject, even when she transferred to a top-notch, highly-rated public school. We are moving again soon and are back to looking at Christian schools. We're having a hard time finding one like ECA. You can't beat the academics, the emphasis on character, and the Christian foundation. We miss ECA every day; I wish she could stay there for her entire education. The staff is competent, yet warm and loving; we truly felt like part of a family there. We didn't know how good we had it. Other Christian schools we're coming across don't operate according to Christian principles and teach discrimination by treating female students as second-class citizens. Thank you ECA for giving my daughter an excellent foundation. You are the yardstick by which all other schools are measured.

ECA is a friendly, small school. The teachers love their work. Christianity is taught in all the subjects. The headmaster is great. If a student is a real negative influence then they are asked to leave the school so that the community truly stays a positive, uplifting place to learn. There are no bullies here. Graduates have said that they are well prepared for college. The first year of college was pretty easy for them. The cost is low compared to most private schools these days. The students don't wear uniforms. It's an enjoyable and safe place to be educated. I volunteer and have a child there in junior high. I see all of this first hand.

My daughters attended Evangelical Christian Academy for many years... too many years. This school gives Christian education a bad name. When I finally moved them to another school, they were behind in almost every subject.

ECA soured me on "Christian education" forever; both "Christian" and "academy" are misnomers. The education was so substandard in some areas that I had to do remedial work to succeed in college, even though I graduated with a 3.6 from ECA (which I had attended since kindergarten). I went from being a sincere Christian involved in my church to loathing evangelicals and avoiding church because of the lies, malice, hypocrisy, and ugliness of certain administrators and teachers. The bullying was so bad that I became suicidal, but my parents were told by teachers and the principal that it would be worse anywhere else and I "just had to develop a tougher skin." I can't emphasize strongly enough what a bad experience I had at ECA. If I could live my life over, I would drop out the day I turned 16 and get a GED before enduring a single extra second at that place.
