We love Colorado Springs Christian Schools! This is our fourth year at CSCS, and our child has truly thrived here. Her education is so much stronger than it was in public school. For example, she went four years in elementary school without ever having spelling. When she transferred to CSCS, she immediately had weekly spelling lessons and Latin!

She had also experienced serious bullying and even death threats at her public school (D20), but nothing meaningful was done. At CSCS, she feels safe, known, and cared for. The teachers aren’t perfect—no teachers or schools are—but they genuinely care about their students. If something happens between children, the teachers address it right away before it has a chance to get out of hand.

CSCS has been such a positive change for our family. Our child is happy, learning, and thriving. It really is a great school.

Our family was part of Colorado Springs Christian Schools for many years, and it is heartbreaking to say we ultimately felt forced to withdraw our children due to ongoing concerns surrounding student safety, accountability, and school culture. We repeatedly witnessed situations where certain students appeared to receive preferential treatment based on family or staff connections, while other students — particularly girls — were minimized, blamed, or expected to tolerate inappropriate behavior under a “boys will be boys” mindset. Some incidents involving serious student misconduct were handled in ways that left many parents feeling unheard and deeply concerned about how student safety was prioritized.

Academically, we were also disappointed. After transitioning to another local private school, we realized our child was significantly behind in several areas despite the high tuition costs. For a school that asks families to invest so much financially, we expected far stronger educational standards and transparency. There also seemed to be ongoing internal leadership and staffing issues communicated vaguely to families through broad “pray for the school” messaging without meaningful accountability or clarity regarding how concerns impacting students were being addressed.

There are many wonderful teachers and families within the community, but overall, our experience was one of defensiveness, inconsistency, and a lack of accountability from leadership when serious concerns were raised. We cannot recommend this school to families seeking strong academics, transparency, or a consistently safe and equitable environment for their children.

CSCS is an amazing school as far as the Christian environment, social and extracurricular activities, lovely families, etc. When it comes to education and communication, it’s lacking. I hate to compare schools but when you have been part of a system that is at the top of its game, it’s hard to settle for less. When you are paying for an education, there really isn’t any excuse. The lessons are way behind the age levels. The emails are rarely returned, and if they are, it’s about a week or so later. The fund raising opportunity is quite embarrassing and we decided not to take part, begging friends and family for money. There should be an auction or something fun for the kids to take part in, not sending letters with nothing in return for the kids or donors. Also, the amount of improper grammar and misspelling in communications sent out by the school is honestly something that needs to be looked into. We are sending our kids to a school for an education where the things being put our are incorrect yet our kids are getting grades on these things? I also found math problems in the books that are not correct - giving them lack of information to even complete the problem. All of these things adding up makes me want to look into other schools as much as I love the people. Very sad. I truly hope they look into these things and make some changes. Look at other Christian schools in the country that are setting testing records, let that be an example of curriculum, teaching styles, etc. The kids are bored to be honest.

Had 2 small children in CSCS for 2 years. Both did amazingly well, and we were sad to have to leave (moved too far). The principal is warm and knows the students by name AND their character traits. I was always impressed by the kind of people there. No place is perfect, no person is perfect, but CSCS is a wonderful school overall, with their eyes pointed towards following Christ, and helping kids get there too.

Although the school states it is not equipped for kids with special needs, but..if you learn during the school year that your child is struggling, instead of them seeking why your child is struggling, they assume the child is being defiant. My son struggled with keeping organized and on task, all they did was scold him each time which made him feel bad about himself, no encouragement or patiences was given.

As we did not experience bullying from a student, my son was tired of being bullied by his teachers. (in his words) This was the way these teachers feel they need to get their message to a child. No compassion.

Our experience at this school turned out to be devastating for us. Sadly we learned that a Christian School does NOT mean that the people in it are truly Christians. We wished we had spoke with more parents prior to enrolling our son. The only thing about Colorado Springs Christian School is that you can worship our Lord.... it is a "cookie cutter" school, if your child has ZERO struggles he/she will fit in just fine and those kids that do, receives extra special attention. Otherwise, it's just like a public school. Don't waste your hard earned money if your child does not fit the mold. We had to pull our child out mid year due to emotional distress.

The homework is overwhelming. As it is a high academic school, there is such a over load of work that the opportunity to do activities in or outside of school was very difficult.

My student is a 7th grader. Not all of the teachers were ineffective, but most of them had zero patience and resorted to yelling. If a teacher feels they need to yell to be heard it is NOT a positive effect on a child.

Being a Christian School it tries to develop strong character in its students, but yet the faculty themselves do not model the behavior they expect from the students.

We felt that the school focused on sports, and if you weren't in a school sport then you were not succeeding. They focused on worship and being a good Christian but yet on a daily basis I witnessed the faculty not Walking the Walk of a Christian. The example of leadership was very weak.

This school has amazing teachers they help you with everything and they help you through problems. If you have a bad grade they halo you boost it up right away. The principal is sweet and it can be pricy but it's amazing

I feel this school is amazing for me because they really walk you through it the teachers are fun and when you ask them a question they answer it Ana I fly it's the best school ever I love it so so so much it's the best school I've ever been to.

I am an alumni as well as a parent with both graduates and current students at CSCS. Our experience has been very good. The teachers are excellent. Both of our children that have graduated were well prepared for college and have excelled academically, socially and professionally due to the foundational teaching. The principals are exceptional as well and I appreciate that they take the safety of all the students seriously.

My brother and I are both alumni (we each attended the school for 15 years; preschool, pre-K, K-12). I can honestly say I absolutely love this place. My brother and I had completely different experiences in high school, though. Even though he didn't enjoy his experience, he can't deny that what he learned there helped him excel through college, and I on the other hand, loved every second. Courses are either challenging or average. Most of the teachers are excellent at their job, and caring as well. I noticed one comment complaining about the abortion video shown in a WP class; students are by no means required to view it (the actual abortion clip is less than 4 minutes long). The commenter didn't mention the context of that video (it was about a pro-life argument using logic). Bottom line: CSCS along with my class and friends allowed me to grow my faith while receiving an amazing college-prep education, and I hope to send my kids there some day.

CSCS is a great school academically, socially, spiritually and through community. The teachers and the coaches are wonderfully supportive and encourage parent involvement at all levels. We've been here 8 years and have had great interaction and communication at all levels of the school. Been through public school and there's no comparison. Highly recommend CSCS.

CSCS is NOT at all what it appears to be! The Principal is very kind, sweet and sincere but also naive. We had our kids there for one year as it was all we could take. To all the parents who currently have children there, seriously folks wake up, speak up for your children!! If you have "to make an appointment" to have lunch with your child, something is wrong, if the teachers do not want parents involved in the class, something is wrong!!! This school is a "status thing" for most parents so they can brag "my child goes to private school". We ll to each there own but it is the children that suffer.

The school needs better communication between teachers and parents. Emails are often never not returned by some teachers. I recommend that the school offer an opt out option for the actual, real abortion video shown to the 11th graders in western philosophy class. The parents found out that the video was shown after the fact. The school has gotten too big too quickly. They operate as if the school is half the size that it is. There is some bullying that goes on there but the principal does make it a point to address the issues with the bully immediately. The tution charged is more than what is delivered as far as as (some)teacher quality, quality of building, lunchroom or athletics. A few teachers are excellent, but it's hit or miss with that. There are no athletic fields at all, no track, no cross country trails, no soccer field, no football field, etc. Athletic fields that they use are off campus so transporting your student is a must since they don't shuttle students to the after school sports at the various fields. Not the worst school by any means, but it's certainly not worth the rising tuition cost..

Having been a public school teacher for ten years and seeing the depletion of all the extra curricular and enrichment activities, I choose to put my daughter in CSCS instead of public school. Our experience was far better than I could have expected. The principal is the best administrator I have seen in 10 years of teaching. The teachers are very effective and truly care about the success of the children. The support staff is helpful, knowledgable, and just as effective. There are a number of quality enrichment activities and programs available to the students. The academic curriculum is both rigorous and challenging for the students. My experience with CSCS has been extremely positive and I would highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a high quality private Christ centered institution for their children. From the principal to the teachers, to the support staff, to the administration and office staff, this school is hands down the best school choice in the Colorado Springs area.
