Eagleview was a good school for the first half. Then they cut our time to get to our first class by 5 minutes. Staff is good but treat their teachers terribly. Teachers do their best and I've never had a bad experience with them. Being an 8th grader in TAG and just starting this school was scary but the teachers and some students were friendly. I don't like the councilors approach to a student SHing. Her heart was on the right place but she said the wrong words. They do parties after continuation for 8th grade.

I love the support that this school gives. I think that they cover every aspect that you can think of, from emotional support to academics. It has been a pleasure sending my son to school every day.

I've had kids attending Eagleview for years, but I do think it's gone down recently. The choir program is still outstanding, but the academics have declined. I'm guessing Eagleview is currently doing a decent job at working with kids who are struggling. But Eagleview is not helping or challenging advanced kids. They've recently removed Advanced Language Arts classes and they've lost their outstanding advanced math teacher (why?). Their priorities seem to have shifted. If I had to do it again, I would have found a different middle school for my child. In the scheme of things, it's still a decent school and I'm not refraining from recommending it, but I would look carefully at the education provided.

Still some strong teachers remains. Many left due to ineffective, unsupportive new leadership. The leadership had a complete turnover too due to the principal's authoritarian rule.

Parents make a huge contribution to character of their children in this neighborhood. Most teachers full support it. Counselors do a good job as well.

This school used to be great. Students and parents were welcomed, staff felt valued. Now Principal Lester talks down to everyone who dares to bring up any questions or concerns. Immediately gets defensive, often raises his voice, interrupt parents. Does he treat students the same way? Best staff are leaving en mass. Discipline is not addressed at all. A new directive requires positive behavior reinforcement and no consequences. As a result, students are running amok, disrupt those who want to learn. Bullying is getting worse. Growing number of concerned parents in the neighborhood, but we feel our concerns are ignored and dismissed. The interim AP made an interesting announcement/warning to the students during the holiday lunch that hinted that students are usually out of control during lunches and special measures will be taken again if necessary (with the room full of parents).

My child loves to read, so academics is not a concern. It would be nice to see more challenge vs. more work for stronger students. Teachers offer after school extracurricular activities. Thank you.

The principal brings programs to show he deals with bullying. Unless bullies are given consequences, they will not learn the hurt their behaviors cause.

It is shocking how quickly the atmosphere has changed in this school. It used to be a positive, welcoming place with strong academics, best teachers, great elective choices, athletics, clubs, events, etc. Now, starting with the new "secure" entry, parents are treated like criminals. It is hard to even get into the school. After waiting outside for a full minute, you are reluctantly buzzed in and questioned by the unhappy front office staff who keep shutting the glass window on you. If you ask to be let into the school through the second locked door, you are told not to go anywhere. It does not help to bring up that the school has the open door policy, or maybe the new principal changed that too. Principal Lester talks down to parents, interrupts, gets immediately defensive if you bring up any questions or concerns. He does not listen. My child did not have any reasons to deal with him. But I would not feel comfortable with him speaking to my child. Tried addressing some concerns with the district. They listen, then ignore you completely. We are just waiting to move on to high school.

This school is not what it should be, could be, or what it used to be. When adults are arrogant and rude to parents, imagine how your child is being treated. I simply wish that valid discussion points were not treated like a debate and not seen as invalid before the point is made. The environment is intimidating from leadership, I sincerely hope that changes. Leadership should work with parents, this is not done successfully. Students should be heard, even if not agreed with. Iron fist rule doesn't gain respect. Instead it initiates fear in some, and rebellion in others.

There are some truly awesome teachers here, but not enough of them. These educators believe in inspiring students, listening to them, and guiding them. Unfortunately not all do this. One teacher admitted to not liking children, another teacher said she couldn't wait to retire and get out...well please do make your exit. No school needs teachers with that mindset.

Simply because a child isn't in Special Education doesn't mean they don't require extra help. Some teachers are so willing to do this, that's off to them! Other teachers make comments about what a child should know at this point, therefore embarrassing the student in front of the class. Some children come from different school systems or districts which may not parallel this school. Instead, encourage students and inform parents to learn what has been missed...minus the comments made out of frustration.

This school as whole, accepts bullying as if it’s a small matter. When I addressed the bullying, I was told that there would be an assembly to address the issue. It never happened.

My son has been a student at this school for two years. He and other minority students are bullied daily and the teachers or administrators do nothing about it. I have had conferences and asked how can we team up to teach about respect and diversity with no end result. If you are raising a minority child, specifically a black child. We’re doing the work to build a strong, respectful human being at home ad that is what matters most.

My son entered 6th grade this year and I can’t tell you how impressive these teachers are. They are so dedicated to making the kids enjoy learning.

Unreal. The organization from top is pretty incredible. 6th graders are separated from 7/8th grade. The principal and counselors are in every detail to make the kids grow and succeed.

10. I went here back in the day. And the difference in progressive way of teaching is mind blowing. They teach kids to deal with technology. As well the parents to be get involved. I like how the six graders are not exposed to the 7/8th graders by how the buildings are situated. They aren’t quite ready to be one of the big kids in the begginning of 6th. There is so much emotional and physical growth in this year. Whatever the teachers and staff do here is remarkable. What a great school!

Great teachers for AAA as well as exploratories. Our only complaint is some teachers do not respond to emails within 24 hours. Some not at all.

We love AAA. The arts integration is phenomenal. The field trips and exploratories were far above and beyond other schools we looked at. We love the soft transition the pods offer 6th graders.

Poor communication with parents and the teachers are not very good at dealing with mental disabilities. They are not very good at dealing with unorganized students either.

The school's policy on establishing 504 plans is terrible. I was very surprised that the counselor wanted to wait several weeks into the school year before writing up our plan.

I have noticed that the teachers cannot catch the kids being mean. The ratio of students to teacher is ineffective and gossip runs rampant at this school.

I have had two children attend this school and I have had to remove them both for various reasons by 7th grade. I do not recommend this school. This school has not met any of our standards by any means.

There are not enough words to describe the lack of professionalism of both the principal and vice principal and educators like Ms.Scoletti and Mr.Choate. As an educator myself there is no way I could provide best practice in this kind of environment.

Absolutely not! Students who are bullied can tell principals, vice principals and safe to tell alike and NOTHING is done. They are told to "learn to self-advocate". I would love to know how a child with Autism is supposed to self advocate? These principals are a disservice to quality educators and deserving students.

Terrible. I pulled my students as have several of my neighbors. D20 offers EXCELLENT alternatives and principals at others schools are understanding and happy to accept students even after the 1st quarter.

We had a terrible experience at this school. During 6th and 7th grade my daughter was bullied on multiple occasions. It was the same group of girls every time and despite our attempts nothing was ever done. By day 2 of 8th grade the bullying was in full effect. My husband and I went to the counselor, 8th grade principal, and school principal asking for our child to be switched to the other pod so she would no longer be in class with these girls. A simple fix to which we were told no. We even went to the superintendents office and they involved. We decided to pull her out and move her to a different school because no one seemed to care about our child and the effects 2+ years off bullying has had on her. The principal couldn’t careless that we were pulling her out. My daughter was miserable at this school, she experienced first hand the politics of the staff, and felt as though no one cared about her and what she was going through. I would never recommend this school to anyone.

This school has different learning environments, such as the Art's program. AAA provides students with fun filled activities that involve the 5 different arts. They could learn a math problem by singing a song about it. Eagleview also has the best staff. I am very pleased about how all staff works together and makes sure that every student understands what topic they are learning about. Also the staff is setting the students up for success. There are many clubs that can fit your student.

This school is just perfect! Not only do teachers teach at a great pace for the students but there is a variety of classes to help student feel comfortable. They make sure everyone is behaving respectively, understanding the curriculums, and feeling welcome. All the extracurricular classes are amazing! They have such a large selection to choose from there is no way a student wouldn't like this school!

This school is awesome! They have great teachers who are helpful and want you to learn! The school itself is nice and large and has a wonderful variety of classes. They have a lot of programs for different kids, they have great lunches, and this school is just plain great.

This school is awful! We moved here last year due to the fire in Mt. Shadows and it has been an absolutely awful experience. They do not understand kids that may struggle, are not be "cool" or who don't work entirely independent. The homework and grades are rarely updated on IC, every teacher uses a different website format if they even use one and it is rarely updated. When we brought up an issue, it was blown off and then we felt as though our child was targeted to prove a point to us as parents. The students are not welcoming to new kids, and the teachers and staff are young and have many "cliques" themselves. I find Eagleview to be a unwelcoming place without any high academic standards and if you don't get in with the right crowd immediately, good luck!

District 20 is OK for kids that dont need help, dont have an IEP or 504. If you have a special needs kido in District 20 besure you read all the federal education laws, IDEA and read Wrighslaw web site, have Peak Parent center on you speed dial options. Read the Colorado Revised statues on education.

my daughter is traditional ( non-arts) and she is a TAG student. We absolutely love the school. She has acclimated well from elementary to middle school. Yes, there is more homework but not much( thanks to her previous teacher). Yes, kids have to be responsible and organized. I love the online grades/homework postings. I always know when things are due and her teachers are amazing at returning emails. The school has so many wonderful extracurricular activities. Overall a top-notch school.

I loved Eagleview, their athletics are the best you can get ever! The teachers are really fun, some may be hard though. Now with all those reviews talking about teachers ignoring kids is a lie, the child obviously isn't asking for help, the teacher has a million assignments to grade and a a ton of other stuff, their not there to hold the kids hand. That's why it's middle school, to teach them how to be independent, same with the lockers. Also no teacher doesn't post due dates they are always on the board. Hey and I'm dyslexic too but the teachers still expect you to do work. Ya it is more of a challenge but I had to learn to persevere though and if your babying your child like that and holding them back they'll never succeed. All together Eagleview is a wonderful school.

My child has dyslexia. The district did it's testing and she fell 1% over their cutoff. The school said she is ineligible for special education. The Dean of Students asked me, "Why would I want to slap a label on my child". My child has a learning disability and needs the extra help. I am not impressed with their disregard for students who need help. Very disappointed, my child will not be returning to Eagleview.
