YSA has some pretty incredible and loving staff. I have had my kids in other home based daycares and centers and YSA has done a fantastic job in making sure my kids feel safe and loved and secure as a working parent. I also appreciate the hours at YSA which most centers do not offer.

They treat their employees terribly, and enforce policies that let kids harm each other, rather then deal with 1 angry parent who thinks their child is a "perfect angel"

As an educator, I know the importance of high-quality care and rich experiences in the early years of life. Young Scholars Academy continues to exceed my expectations for early childhood care and learning. Our 6-year-old twins attended Young Scholars Academy from the age of 3 through Kindergarten, and our 3 year old currently attends YSA. In the summer, all three are enrolled in YSA summer camp! I cant say enough good things about YSA. Our twins were very prepared entering the public-school system and our 3-year-old is actively engaged each day through authentic play and group instruction. Their classrooms are warm and inviting. She is enriched each week with hand-on activities, science experiments, music, and art projects. The teachers treat us like family and we are always greeted by name and a smiling face. My favorite part of YSA is the love and compassion that they have for my children. As I hug and kiss them goodbye each morning, I know that they are loved, thriving, and happy.

First child went here as a young toddler. Rough start but things ended up going well. There were a few teachers that we didn't think should be teachers as they had no patience, no positivity, and seemed burned out. Then again, there were also some fantastic teachers who had all the above and made it a place our child loved coming to while in those classes. Cool, we figured this is just the nature of child care and, as a teacher myself, education in general...you get some good and some bad.

For that reason, we decided to stay here with our infant. Big mistake. The infant teachers are over-worked, and, from my observation, were often outside of ratio! The room has no curriculum that I could see, despite the Life Cubby lesson plans...I know they did not do these. Our child was constantly dirty, never changed out of the first set of clothes, constant diaper rashes (not all their fault but being a second kid it was mush higher than we previously observed), constantly sick (same as rashes), and not very engaged when we would pick them up. There was one good infant teacher but she was clearly overworked. The others seemed like they hated their job, had no positivity, chose to clean instead of engage with the children (very little engagement actually occurred from what I could see), and would talk trash on people or complain about the kids and other staff while parents were in the room! I don't blame the teachers, I blame admin for not setting a standard and supporting teachers to exceed that standard.

We had enough and saw the writing on the wall. There is no morale to speak of here, and it is a baby/kid factory...nothing to do at all with "academics" or social-emotional development (how can they?). We moved our children to Primrose and all of our concerns were confirmed. Night and day difference in the quality of care, diaper rashes and sickness cut by 80%, increased engagement from our kids and the staff, and an overall very positive and communicative atmosphere. I doubt the owners of YSA knew us by anything other than our face. Primrose owner? Knew my name and who my kids were on the very first day of arrival.

Again, I blame the YSA admin. YSA had one good admin, Amanda, but she left and the place is run by business thinking people who lack real business skills. Pay the extra and go to another center...you'll be glad you did. Gave 2 stars for those few teachers there that are fantastic, and often asked to clock out to avoid overtime but still work.

We LOVE Young Scholars Academy! Both of our boys have attended their preschool program. We didn't have a single worry about our oldest being prepared for Kindergarten with the curriculum that YSA had provided. Our second son currently attends YSA and we've seen a dramatic difference in his cognitive and creative abilities since being enrolled.

The staff at Young Scholars Academy really cares about your family and your children. I contacted them back in 2013 on short notice because I had a hectic schedule and needed to find care for my children immediately. They were able to schedule me a tour of their daycare facility that same day, and ever since, we have been EXTREMELY pleased with the care we have been provided with. The staff really goes the extra mile with your children. They have engaging activities for your children, and are attentive to your child's needs. They invite you to trunk or treat parties, Easter egg hunts, and other fun outings outside of their normal business hours. They get to know your needs as a family and are accommodating to every one of them.

We are not always enrolled with Young Scholars Academy (our schedule is constantly changing) but we have continually stuck with them for our needs if we ever need care for our daughters. My husband is in the military and if we get a last minute notice, they have always been able to fit us in. The facility is very clean, and during the holidays, the building is decorated, the fireplace lit, and the food from the kitchen fills the air. The whole atmosphere is cozy.

I know my children are safe at Young Scholars Academy and we will always give them our highest approval. Thank you to the team for always being so wonderful!

The way the treated my 3 year old was atrocious. They had complaints about him and were vague about what was happening with him. When I asked to have a meeting with the teachers or director there was no response other than 'we will call you back' even in person the director was never abatable. My child has gone through much personal trauma the last several months with many changes and it is natural for him to act out more as he is scared and looking for stability and trust. Not only was the staff unprofessional but I really felt he was targeted by Melanie. They would not communicate or work with me on what to do and then have me "follow up at home" if there was an incident that day, how can I punish or talk with a three year old about something they did wrong 6 hours earlier? There was never any phone calls to me during the day so if he was having a bad day I did not know until pick up and again there was no communication with me and the teachers other than having to sign their papers. I have discussed it with other centers and will not recommend this place to anyone especially if you are a military family where children go through a lot (deployment, moving, ect.) I also plan on talking with the Department of Human Resources and the Better Business Bureau about how they are run. I would also note that when they say the use 'redirection' as a punishment that is only partly true my child had lost privileges such as recess and was constantly on basically time-out but they didn't call it that. He was fearful when he would get dropped off and all the behaviors they claim he had were not displayed at home. It was the biggest disappointment to how they treated a child who had moved so much and lost a parent. Don't go here MILITARY FAMILIES BE WARNED! I also feel that this was done purposely because after the many changes in our family we would get assistance to pay for care, meaning the school got less money with my children there, of course now after not having issues there problems my child was displaying.... after I didn't have to pay as much.. No wonder they didn't care I left, they made more money that way.

It promotes fear and does not help the individual child its always what the 'teacher' can handle, I had a teacher scream at me on my sons last they dare after I said I was frustrated and disappointed by the lack of communication. She then had a full fledge screaming match with in front of ALL the children in the class and told me it is no wonder my child was 'bad' and many other things a child should NEVER hear.

This was my Son's first daycare and I was so hopeful after the tour that it would be a great place for him. The staff promised a curriculum in the infant room of baby sign language and art. They promised that they try to follow the schedule that the parents provide to continue to build routines. None of those promises were kept. Many days, there wasn't an employee in my child's classroom when we arrived and I was asked to leave him at the front desk. The staff was not friendly and the director never bothered to introduce herself to me. My husband went to the daycare on multiple occasions and was never greeted by anyone. The infant room is so unorganized that my son consistently came home with other children's belongings and his stuff kept going missing. It became so bad that I started taking inventory of everything I brought in the morning. The employees don't use supplies appropriately and are extremely wasteful. I witnessed the employees using five to six wipes to clean a wet diaper and not even bother to unfold them. They applied diaper cream to my son as if it was lotion and when they lost his wipes, they used paper towels on his bottom causing a horrendous diaper rash. They let my child sleep all day and wouldn't wake him to change him or feed him. They claimed he was too little to do any art projects. We were paying over $1000 a month and not receiving the services we were promised, so we moved our son to Primrose. I pay less money for daycare every month and my son is better cared for now.

My son has attended The Young Scholar's Academy for a few months now. I have to say at first, they couldn't get my payment agreement set up the way it should have been. Initially this seemed a bit unprofessional, but the care my son receives outweighed this quickly. He has so much fun! He's two, and just starting to talk, so he often mentions his teachers and friends in the classroom. In my opinion, they feed him well balanced meals and he has several areas to play during the day. It's also reeeally reasonably priced for daycare around north Colorado springs.

I don't usually write reviews on things. I leave that to my wife but I was/am so impressed by this center that I decided I would let it be known. My son is my firstborn so he is my pride and joy. I was nervous when my wife wanted to get a job and put him in a child care but I sincerely feel like this place is another home for him. He is happy and safe and the teachers love him and he loves them and that is important to me. I couldn't be happier with where is at in his life as far as developing and growing. We owe it all to YSA. Thank you for giving us the best life for our son. BEST center in the WORLD hands down.

This is quite frankly a wonderful school that seems to be getting a bad rap from people who either did not pay their bill, or were let go for not having the proper qualifications. Heartbreaking as I know first hand the work they do in the community AND in the classrooms.

Management is HORRIBLE. Son was injured 3 times in the first week alone, once because a large chair fell on him and knocked him to the ground. Overcharged by $2000. Tried to sit down with management 4 different times and when the day would arrive they would tell me something came up. Owner called and left a horrible message stating that she would NOT be meeting with me, that we owed the money and she had nothing else to say to me. After I finally found an exceptional daycare, I ran into an old worker from the Academy. She stated to me that she couldn't stand to work there anymore, that she would NEVER leave her child there and that the children there were very VERY much neglected.

Terrible staff. The building itself is nice enough but the staff is staff inexperienced, rude, and neglectful. They don't get fed enough. My child (under 1 year) is always returned to me hungry, filthy, and banged up. They make you give them a schedule but if deviate from that schedule and try to bring them in early or late they will refuse to take them. However you will still have to pay for the full week. None of the "teachers" have any childcare education or teaching education for that matter. They have so many rules that you really don't have any say over what is done with your child. Please don't give your kids to these people.
