Last school year, my daughter experienced repeated racial harassment from older students while passing in the hallways between classes. She was subjected to comments about her hair, skin color, and, at one point, was called the N-word by a group of senior boys and girls.

We reported these incidents to the school multiple times and were told the issue had been “handled.” However, the harassment continued and actually escalated. When we followed up again, we were informed that another student had also reported the same group. The school’s response was to have the students write a paper about why they shouldn’t make those comments. There was no parent involvement, no meaningful accountability, and no follow-up with us as her parents.

Due to the lack of appropriate action and support, we escalated the matter to the school district. The district opened an investigation and offered our daughter the option to transfer to another school within the district regardless of space. We ultimately chose Air Academy High School.

Both her mother and I are dual military, and our children have attended multiple military-based schools. We have never experienced anything like this before. It is disappointing and concerning that this was allowed to continue without serious intervention. No child should have to endure racial harassment at school, and no parent should feel unheard when raising concerns about their child’s safety and well-being.

Great school, athletics are top notch. All the staff care about the school and the legacy it holds. Your student will be challenged but they will be ready to go to college and supported by their teachers all of the way. The academics are amazing and the teachers really care about their students. The school is very safe and protected by multiple officers. Counseling staff is phenomenal and the college counselor is AMAZING and will help you to achieve your dreams and get to where you want to go. I wouldn’t have wanted to go to high school anywhere else in the springs!

Non enthused with it. Academics are only if the student is self driven. Sports and coaches only recognize clicks and even parents have clicks in order to get their child on a team or given a title.

I would not have gone to PCHS if I could do it over again. Terrible school.

Unless you are a football player you will not get treated with respect at this school by the staff members and/or administration. Pine Creek does everything to sweep incidents under the rug involving the football players and do not care about anyone else, or about doing their jobs! DO NOT GO HERE!

They brush over the bullying or enable it
If your child is of color expect different treatment than the whites students also the N word here is said as much as the word HI by white students teachers accept it

Counselors are LAZY and resolve NOTHING and will suggest your child accept a D if they can’t do better!!

If your child is a self motivated , self teaching and strong student this school will be fine as would any school. If you have an average student with any possibility of needing any help what so ever......DON'T go to Pine Creek HS. It also has an atmosphere of a Juvenile Hall....No respect.

They don't teach anything. How can they have homework? My kids watched more movies in class then I've watched in my lifetime.

The school was great until they decided to change everything. The whole religious debate was a bit over the top. The class sizes gradually grew and grew which limited the attention each student received. The period of time called seminar was removed from the schedule. It was essentially a homeroom where students could get help from teachers, but now it has been replaced with an additional class. It is like going to school in a prison. They force the students into the cafeteria and refuse to let them leave. They also do not allow visitors unless the visitor is a parent....also not cool. So they took away the opportunity of seminar and lunch time as being help times for students needing to make up assignments or receive extra help, does that really make sense?

It al depends on the teacher. The ones that have been there for several years tend to be the best. The others are not worth the effort.

Way more homework than any college setting. College classes require a lot more studying while pine creek classes require a lot more unnecessary assignments.

Pine Creek is an amazing school. The tech program is great (we have programming through APCS, and then there are classes like app dev and game programming), the sports program is amazing, we are working toward everyone having an iPad, the music is great, and there are so many classes it can be hard to choose. Many of the negative reviews were clearly written by students from rival schools, because the majority of Pine Creek students are very kind and accepting. As a person who has always had trouble making friends, I had no trouble making lots of them here. The teachers are generally very helpful. There are tons of clubs for people to join, making it easy to stay involved in the community. Lunches are great because we order in from restaurants, so we have Chinese, Subway, Burgers, Italian, Pizza, Chick-fil-a, Salad, and more. Campus is open for juniors and seniors, so people can go get lunch somewhere else. There is a big student parking lot, so driving to school is easy. Overall an amazing school.

Some of my teachers have been great, some have been OK, but I have never had a bad teacher here.

Best school in the state. The teachers here care about the students. The staff wants to see them succeed, not only in the specific class, but in life in general. There will always be things to improve on at every school, but the base of Pine Creek is made of well meaning, inspiring staff members that push Pine Creek to its best every year.

We have a gifted son who doesn't fit into the typical high school mold. He really likes Pine Creek High School because of the atmosphere (more college than high school) and mutual respect students give to one another. The variety of courses offered in the school's catalog, along with school sponsored sports teams and clubs, are also benefits to attending PCHS.

My daughter had a bad experience with peer relationships before coming to Pine Creek as a sophomore. During her 3 years there, she felt it to be a much more friendly environment and as a result, became more involved in student activities. Also, her much loved sport of swimming was enhanced by the friendliness,inclusiveness, and support of the team and coaches. There were even rules around prom that if it weren't for the support of the principal (now retired) to make an exception, my daughter would not have been able to attend with her boyfriend. On education and teacher quality, it's one of the finest in the state.
