Hello, my child went to this school and she was bullied so bad it really affected her mental health, and when she told proper older adult figures nothing was done. The education is awful, the staff are rude and that school is a nightmare.

The new principal tries, he is out of the building way to much and does not have good support from his staff (not in my opinion). That does not make for good forward progress and does not put the students first. School gets additional funding for GT kids who then are not pulled regularly for things. That should be miss use of funds somewhere. The district itself allows things that keep staff out for extended periods of time to greatly affect students as there is no consistent long terms subs available.

Bullying continues and can not be properly dealt with as in society it has become acceptable. Everything about the incidents is kept secret thus increasing curiosity in others to believe that no one gets punished for bad things so they must be ok. Kids are punished more for rough house play then for threatening teachers and students bodily harm. Some kids are targeted for anythings and everything while others that are just as bad if not worse get the blind eye. A girl who slaps another student scratching that students face was allowed to go back to class and a lie about another student was to the extreme of suspension due to a miss understanding. Sad times here.

Poor communication from upper grade teachers. Sometimes an email is sent asking for help or questions and no response is made. Not even a note home acknowledging you even asked a question. I asked for a meeting about 4 months ago before a project was due and got put off so long that the project passed and no meeting ever took place. Everyone up the chain off command was involved and was "trying" but it never was able to fit their schedule. Come to find out the project did not meet the requirements---what is the point in asking questions or for help --then doing their best for it to be worth nothing.

Not at all. Its only on who you are that counts here, a volunteers kid, a teachers kid, for you to be considered for things and to be treated equally. Kids know that they are targets here more then they are valued or here to get an education.

The integrity of this school has diminished and does not appear even with new leadership to be making a comeback to the once good school that it was. Maybe this is how D11 likes things, constant chaos with principal swaps and wasting money giving bad staff raises to district jobs instead of getting rid of the bad, finding better and improving school like it should. Hide a poor employee in an admin job with a raise, increasing their PERA contributions and retirement pay instead of getting rid of them and putting that much needed money back into programs for students and overall school improvements. Hire unqualified candidates because they are friends of someone. Goodness we don't even have a science curriculum just kits to be checked out and worked on. Definitely not on the cutting edge of any kind of STEM wow at all here.

My kids have been at this school for 4 years and I love it. Bully issues are resolved immediately and for the diverse population there are issues. Dr. Bader handles the school wonderfully and Mrs. Hannon, the school Psychologist has tons of programs to aid in great character education. If you don't want to be involved in homework and projects though, go elsewhere. This school believes in parental support.
