Moving my child from Carver Elementary to Penrose was the best decision I have ever made, 3rd grade teacher Mr. Mann helped inspire my social awkward child to blossom. He was so amazing in communicating with me weekly on her strength and weakness. He is always responding to me in a timely manner. I honestly can write so much more about Mr. Mann. Teacher of the year is an understatement He should be teacher of the decade.

I would agree Ms. Bair is AMAZING. So, patient and understanding with her whole class! My kiddo struggles with day-to-day behaviors but since being in her class and with help from the principal/assistant principal, counselor, etc. he is able to succeed! They all take their time with him and communicate well with me about any of my children. One of the best schools they have been to and one they have thrived in all because these amazing adults slow down and take the time to listen to them. Plus, not making my kids feel bad for having a rough day is always a bonus! You guys rock. Keep up the good work with these kids.
P.S. the counselor is one of a kind! We are involved with lots of outside therapy and as a parent who believes in therapy myself, HE IS AMAZING at what he does, and it shows every time I have an interaction with him or just see him with other students!

I have 3 children all have been at penrose since pre-k. Communication with front office ladies, principal, and teachers are amazing! I feel safe going to the principal or teacher and know that they will help fix any concerns I have. My children have gotten help with learning when needed and have never been left behind. I feel like penrose is one big family! My kids absolutely love it here and even my oldest still comes back to visit teachers.

The staff at this school is great. When you walk in you are greeted by friendly faces ready to help. They work very hard to keep the school running. The principal is amazing. She cares about all kids not just a few. She is an amazing addition to the school. I personally have experience with special education. They are a wonderful bunch to work with. The teachers are all kind and ready to teach all the kids each day. This school also plans fun activities throughout the year. This is definitely the school you want your kids at!!!!

This school has been amazing for my autistic children. The teachers are understanding and willing to make accommodations when needed. The principal, who has a background in special education, was supportive and super helpful when my children were struggling with day to day transitions. There is a strong camaraderie among the staff. My kids have spent most of their elementary at this school, and even their previous teachers still talk to them and cheer them on. I'm grateful that this is our home school.

The school is ran very well. The principal is very engaging and open with the families of students. Not a very welcome greeting when you arrive. The two ladies are rude and upset if you interrupt their conversation. The family activities go far beyond what any other school shows. We received a thanksgiving dinner and Christmas gives along with activities and a haircut. One downside is many of the workers smells like cigarettes and the custodian and his girlfriend smoke in front of the school and make out where the kids can see. The school is great with an exception to some bad eggs in the bunch.

I love this school. The teachers and staff are great. Our Kindergarten teacher remains the favorite of the family but all have been fantastic. I am a parent and a PTA board member, I have enjoyed more than 5 years at this school and will miss it immensely when we move on to middle school. The PTA is dwindling in size due to lack of parent participation, as a board member we have tried to encourage parents to get more involved but it has proven to be very difficult. Bring your child and your enthusiasm to this school and help keep the PTA alive at Penrose.

At first we loved the school. The kindergarten teacher was amazing!! Unfortunately now with the first grade teacher, who is still training to be a teacher, shows very little interest in trying with the children or for that matter the parents. Academically we see no issues, but beyond that there seems to be no effort in anything else that has to do with the children (such as emotional or behavioral situations with children). If Teachers are with our kids for 7 hours out of the day there needs to be more there than 2+2.
