Been with this school for a long time, but it's went downhill fast over the past 2 years. My kids aren't learning anything. Low level work. They just put kids on computers. My daughter heard teachers talking about other kids while hanging out in the middle of the school. My kid also said that her teacher often leaves class and returns at the end. We're done.

There are so many things I could write, examples I could share. This school is a JOKE!
I started the year with having 2 of my children enrolled. 1 in 8th grade and 1 in 5th. I pulled my 8th grader after 5 weeks due to the topics he was being exposed to. The "English" teacher started the year off talking about symbols.... gender symbols on bathroom doors, flags....it quickly turned into a discussion on non binary gender, Black Lives Matter and whether or not the children agreed with a wall being built.
I was floored when my son came home and shared what had been discussed. So the next on campus day I instructed him to record the class (on his laptop that he was issued). I could not have prepared myself for what I heard. The teacher unleashed her personal feelings on our current President. She shared that she thought President Trump was the, "worst President ever, he was hateful and destructive to our country." The lack of professionalism was horrifying. I am not a Trumper but when I was raised, the students never knew the personal politics of a teacher. My son asked to be pulled from the school for various reasons. One being the vulgarity that he witnessed on a daily basis in the halls (that was never addressed by teachers) and the overall lack of education. He knew that being at this school would not help him reach his academic goals.
We did leave our youngest son in the school because he was in Elementary and had a different set of teachers. I joined the schools Family Engagement Council so that I could be more involved and be part of the change that I hoped to see. To say that we ended up disappointed with the Elementary program is an understatement.
My son is bright....that is why we were looking for a "best the District had to offer" type of school. They had nothing to offer him. He aged out of all their curriculum and the main teacher said, "Because you have homeschooled in the past, why don't you just do his schooling and then we can meet at the end of the year and you can show me what he has done." On the days that my son had "in person learning", he helped plan things for the other students, occasionally sat in on a middle school math class and basically had social time. On the day that I was supposed to meet with his teacher to show her his work for the year. She was a NO SHOW and that is after having to reschedule 3 times!
Spare your kids from this place. Spare your family the headache. I tried to make it work and it was just a JOKE!

Nope nada if you don't work the way they want you to then you just fail.

Its an online school with very little parent training on the programs. It the parent class gets canceled they do not reschedule it.
Posted: June 25, 2019
They don't let you know about your kids grades until its too late.
Posted: June 25, 2019
There is no respect here only a couple of the employees seem to generally care.
Posted: June 25, 2019
The counselor is very nice and friendly and gives you a positive feeling about the school but there is a serious lack of communication. My son was failing a class and I found out 2 days before end of school year.

The no bullying pledge the kids take is very effective. I have talked to several parents whose kids were bullied at previous schools and they are now thriving.
Posted: May 9, 2017
We love the "absolutely no bullying" pledge the kids take at the beginning of the year. Our daughter has developed more confidence and has flourishing friendships at the school. I also appreciate that the school leadership checks in with the parents to make sure their kids are being treated well by others. Very rare!

We love every single one of the middle school teachers. From math, to science, social studies and language arts, each teacher has worked individually with our child to help her succeed. And she has succeeded beautifully under their tutelage where she was struggling before. These teachers know their subjects and are skilled at imparting knowledge to the kids.
Posted: May 9, 2017
This school completely transformed our child from an insecure, struggling student to a girl brimming with confidence and excited to go to school. She also has improved academically by leaps and bounds. She understands math better than she ever has, is writing beautifully, and is a self starter--all things we were struggling with in years leading up to this year. She is treated well at SSAE by teachers and classmates. You cannot put a price tag on the experience we have had, except that her previous school was private and cost a lot of money for a difficult experience. So the financial price tag is much less costly, and we are enjoying that too!

Not happy at all. Too many kids and too few teachers. Less of a virtual school and more like a public school.
Posted: April 30, 2014
After bad experiences with the traditional brick and mortar schools, my son finally found a school where he can really excel and overcome his learning difficulties. The teachers and administration really care about my son and make every effort to insure that he does not fall through the cracks. Falcon Virtual Academy is a God send in my son's education!

After a horrible experience with bullying at 2 different schools, we enrolled our daughter in FVA. We are pleased with the progress she has made, and there is absolutely no bullying here. The staff is wonderful and makes time to help students and parents who need it. The other students and parents are friendly and helpful. We especially appreciate the flexibility of online learning.
Posted: April 29, 2014
Wow- what a great school this is! The teachers are amazing! The online program is very well thought out - but don't expect to to be easy! The program is very challenging and requires a lot time and dedication from your child. It is set up very similar to online college. Another bonus is that my child gets to avoid all of the crazy kid drama that goes on in a traditional school.

We absolutely love falcon virtual academy!! It is the best of both worlds! We can learn and grow at our own pace, and have on going help from all of the wonderful teachers. The weekly percentage rate helps keep us on track. The advent program is allowing our children to be more creative out of the text book world. There absolute no bullying policy is fantastic. I could go on and on. . Thank you again for another wonderful year!! God Bless this school

My school is fantastic because kids can be kids. They don't have to worry about fitting in somewhere, because there is a place for everyone!
Posted: April 29, 2014
My school is the best I have ever been to. The teachers are connected to everything and everyone and they provide a safe environment for education. They have flexible schedules for everyone and they are open to many opinions. They provide a bunch of activities that are fun yet educational.
Posted: April 29, 2014
Our family loves this school. The staff members are amazing. Also, the atmosphere of the new building makes it fun for my kids when they do go to meet with their teachers.
Posted: April 29, 2014
I love this school so much! There is so much flexibility and so many involved students! I love going here and learning with the amazing and helpful teachers.
Posted: April 29, 2014
This was our first year at FVA and we loved it! They are helpful, creative and thorough. I enjoy the accountability the teachers and staff provide.
Posted: April 29, 2014
This school is by far the best school I have ever gone to. The teachers are nice and the people are friendly too. If I didn't go to this school it would have been a HUGE mistake. If you are thinking about putting your child into this school, DO IT!!!!! It is a great choice for both you and your child. It has helped me a lot and I've meet several new people. The reason I say this school is the best is because I went to 2 different schools before this one, A public and another homeschool group. Both were horrible, they didn't teach you anything and you were learning everything you did the year before. This school, its something new every week, and if you fail a test (try not to) you can retake that test until you get it right! You can com into the school for additional help and you can have face to face time with the teachers if needed. This school is AWESOME! I would SOOOOO recommend coming here if you are thinking about it. Its fun, helpful, and fits to your schedule.

We LOVE this school. Weve been using online schooling now for 3 yrs and struggled quite a bit in the beginning but then we found FVA and all our prayers had been answered!! We finally had the support we needed and teachers who truly love what they do and the kids they teach!! We are so impressed with the blended learning and recommend it to anyone considering to do online schooling! But online schooling is not the easy way out of homeschooling...it takes dedication to teaching your child and completing all the needed work...thankfully the curriculum is very well thought out and the teachers fill in any gaps that might come up! I love going in for iLearning to a place where my kids are known and loved....I just don't have any bad things to say about this school and their staff!!!

WHERE is the TEN STAR OPTION??? Falcon Virtual Academy is a fabulous opportunity!!! I am so thankful for this learning environment for my two children. They LOVE attending in school classes. The students are all involved in creating a fun supportive community! The staff is very involved and truly care about the students! It is a close knit family when it comes to FVA!! Thank you everyone!!
Posted: April 29, 2014
The teachers are personable, patient and knowledgeable. I love this school!!! Would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a flexible and yet organized way to home school!!! Did I mention I love this school?
Posted: April 29, 2014
It is the best cause of the people and teachers. They are very nice and will help you if needed. The classes are pretty cool also very educational. You can make friend at the virtual school and do projects together.
Posted: April 29, 2014
I think that Falcon Virtual is the almost perfect school. The teachers all care about us. Every time that something bad happens, the teachers handle it like true teachers should. Most of the kids here all are sweet and treat each other like actual people, even the younger ones. All in all, this school is a really good school. P.S. Also, the environment that the school puts you in is perfect!

Falcon Virtual has been great for us. I didn't want to homeschool my daughter because I was worried that I would miss something, with the k-12 program I no longer have to worry about that! My daughter is excelling. She moves fast through her classes and they allow us to get the next grade level when she is ready! The staff is very caring. My daughter has extreme food allergies and they take many precautions to make sure she is safe in the building. Oh and the overview says they are in D-2, but it is actually Falcon D-49.
Posted: April 29, 2014
So grateful I found this virtual academy. My children were struggling and way below grade level, with the help of the teachers and staff my children have taken off and are finally at grade level and are enjoying learning.
Posted: April 29, 2014
First year with the school. Third year with the curriculum. Best part - the teachers! They go to infinity and beyond! My daughter loves the extra curricular courses where she gets to interact with the teachers and other students face to face. She loves the building because she says it does not look like an ordinary classroom, but like a place of excitement and fun!

Falcon Virtual Academy (FVA) has opened up a wealth of opportunities to both of my daughters. Neither is a good fit for a traditional public school due to health concerns. FVA allows my girls to focus on their schoolwork, while managing the critical social interactions missed in home schooling. My oldest daughter used to do everything to avoid going to school because she was ridiculed for being different. Now, it's a different story. She looks forward to opportunities to be at school because she's accepted and can be herself. It is an amazing transformation that has had a positive impact throughout our entire lives.

Our children have attended Falcon Virtual Academy since it opened. We love the flexibility this school provides, and we love how committed the teachers and staff are in helping our kids succeed. One of our kids was really struggling, and the staff went above and beyond to find ways to help him. The staff and teachers are like family to us. We can't imagine sending our kids back to a brick and mortar school. We feel so much more involved with what and how they are learning - something that was lacking in other schools. This school offers the best of both worlds. We would highly recommend FVA to anyone!
Posted: April 28, 2014
FVA is -very simply put - incredible! My daughter has seen so much more success while attending FVA than any other time in her school career. She will be graduating in a couple of weeks, and we owe so much of it to the unbelievable staff at FVA. The staff genuinely cares for each student and they go far beyond what lies in their job duty in order to see a child succeed. I couldn't be happier that my daughter was blessed to be a part of FVA.
Posted: April 28, 2014
I cannot possibly say enough good things about Falcon Virtual Academy. The teachers are organized, patient, and knowledgable. They have guided my son through the best school experience of his life. My son was moved from Vista Ridge due to issues with bullying. My son has Aspergers Syndrome and for the very first time ever, he feels safe in a school. He has thrived, gained confidence, and now even has friends. I don't know what we would have done without FVA. I wouldn't hesitate to send my children there for another year.
Posted: April 28, 2014
My school has teachers and staff that will do anything for the students. We have been impressed.
Posted: April 28, 2014
FVA has grown exponentially since its beginning and welcomes students to learn through various styles that suit their educational needs. The school has great opportunities and blended learning classes. Need to work on improving student teacher resources for advanced classes instead of relying on K-12 online instruction. Trimesters don't allow enough learning time for advanced courses or those students who are behind.
Posted: April 28, 2014
Falcon Virtual Academy. We love the teachers and structure. I love getting biweekly progress reports.
Posted: April 28, 2014
This is the most amazing school! The teachers and staff are constantly going above and beyond for their students and their families. Could not imagine my kids going anywhere else!
Posted: April 28, 2014
Great for students that need flexible schedules. For a "virtual" setting they also have class time as needed so students may also get face time with teachers. Teachers and staff are dedicated to giving all the students a good education.
Posted: April 28, 2014
I have worked in this school for four years. It is the best educational environment for kids I have ever seen. FVA is one of the schools on the forefront of online/blended learning. The staff cares about kids and strives to do what's best.
Posted: April 28, 2014
Falcon virtual academy is an absolute answer to prayer! My children are excelling at all their classes and have made the best friends while attending! I tell everyone I know about FVA and how much we love it! The teachers and staff are award winning in our eyes!
Posted: April 28, 2014
This is the only school that I have ever worked at where teachers can make decisions based on what is best for kids, even if those decisions do not fit with a typical model. Teachers are encouraged to think outside the box in order to make learning more meaningful and relevant to the students. Furthermore, the students here are the most caring group of kids I have ever been around. Kids know that when they come into the building, they do not need to worry about being bullied. They can be themselves in an environment that does not just tolerate them, but accepts them for who they are.
Posted: April 28, 2014
FVA is amazing! The staff and administration is great to work with. As a teacher at the school, I enjoy every minute I get with my students. They are all great students who greatly care about each other. The students work hard and are engaged. The students enjoy our positive and inviting school environment. Students are allowed to engage in conversations and work on project based assignments. School is fun at FVA and students are typically not ready to go home at the end of their blended schooling day.

Since my daughter has been attending the academy her grades have improved and her motivation increased!

This school is AWESOME! No seriously! This has been the best ending to our youngest son's high school education! All personnel at Falcon Virtual Academy know our son by name. His grades improved as did his attitude to complete his homework. He attends tutoring, Blended classes and school activities every week. He can email his teachers at any time and they respond with assistance as needed. He was very shy but, FVA allowed him to reach out for help in a comfortable way which carried over to other areas of school and social life. His confidence has greatly increased. He even now tutors younger students in physics and assists the teacher with science experiments. He went from getting a D in chemistry in the previous school to totally understanding it and achieving an A at FVA. The right teachers who are excited and motivated to teach, really do matter! I wish I had more space to name everyone but, just know they are always looking out for your child and encouraging them to be the best person they can be. I believe he is ready for college. He is organized, able to meet deadlines and excited to learn! He has the technology know how to be successful at college!

I cannot sing enough praises about the fabulous staff! They genuinely care about the students, and are very involved with not only their education, but overall well-being! My children (5th and 7th grade) have found their niche here. I am so thankful for Falcon Virtual Academy and everything they have done for my kids!
Posted: April 28, 2014
The blended learning has been great for my son. I think it adds so much to the virtual schooling experience. Our 1st year was great and we are coming back even though we have to drive an almost 3 hours round trip to attend the blended learning.
Posted: April 28, 2014
This school is so wonderful. After years of being bullied at school by other students and teachers alike, my daughter started attending Falcon Virtual Academy. The change was wonderful. The staff kind and caring. The other students there were also very helpful and friendly. My daughter benefits not only by what she learns but by the opportunity to help others.
Posted: April 28, 2014
Having an emotionally challenged student has proved very difficult. FVA has proved not only effective for our child but also shown that success is possible. Go FVA!
Posted: April 28, 2014
Don't let the name fool you! FVA is much more than a virtual school. They have an amazing staff who take the time to get to know each and every student personally, who individualize instruction for all students, offer concurrent enrollment opportunities and strive to challenge each and every student to the best of their abilities.
Posted: April 28, 2014
FVA is by far the best school I've ever been to. Since I started, I have a greater confidence in myself. I'm treated with respect by all the other students and teachers. At a regular brick and mordor school Id get made fun of for just about everything, but at FVA I can be myself and no one judges me. We accept everyone. The teachers know me and my piers on a personal level, and do whatever they can to show off our skills. They go out of their way to show that they care. Many of the teachers are like 2nd moms for me, and I know I can tell them anything. Every week I literally count down the days until I can go back to school. There's nothing I would change about it, and I'm very happy that I'm here.

This school is amazing. Never have my children experienced a staff that is more nurturing. The staff is friendly, professional and knows everyone by name! Highly recommend!

Love this school. We are so happy with the the teachers and staff. The teachers know the students well, and always have time to help when needed. Never any conflict- ever. Asst principal makes us feel welcome everytime we are there. She is always reaching out, and always listening, always there. Remembers everything from one visit to the next. The teachers & staff have fantastic communication with parents and students. The activities and enrichment programs are always fun and engaging. There is a true partnership between the teachers and the parents. We couldn't be happier with FVA!

The teachers always show excitement when my kids see them. It's obvious teachers and other staff love what they do. The assistant principal knows my school age kids and my younger kids by name. The teachers are easy to contact when my kids have questions.
