The school has a lot of talented and intelligent teacher. The school is also partnered with pikes peak state college which allows students to begin college during their sophomore year of high school. Thanks to the amazing teaching and partnership with PPSC I was able to graduate high school with an associates at 17 and held 3 associates at 18. The college readiness rating on the website are innacurate as the school provides better college readiness than any school like James Irwin ever could.

if you are not HIGHLY intelligent, you have no businesses here. This is not meant as an insult, it’s meant as a warning. I’m a freshman and going to Odyssey is a draining experience. If it’s not the unhygienic freshman boys that suck the life out of you, the teachers and coursework definitely will. The teachers WILL judge you as a person and determine if you’re going on their good list or bad list. If you’re on a teachers bad side, they will blatantly disrespect you. Also, you can say good bye to your social life since you’ll spend all your weekends doing homework for 0.000000000000001% of your overall grade. Plus, if you’re a freshman, get ready to be condescended on by the sophomores (they’re obviously better than you because they’re one year older). Have fun at Odyssey!

Every 9th grader has to take a one-year AVID study skills class. Math has an extra period for lab, where most students finish their work. Expect an average of 1-2 hours of work a night, with more during projects and leading up to finals.

We have been delighted by our experience at Odyssey. It is a small school of only about 100 students per grade. The typical homework is 1-2 hours a night, with more for projects and finals. Teachers are happy to help any time a student needs it. I even know a case where the staff worked together to help a student with anxiety issues who was having trouble with the workload. The social climate is welcoming, and the teachers have been great so far. I feel like my daughter is learning a lot. The coursework is more challenging than middle school was, but they have an AVID class for all of their 9th graders to learn study skills, and there is plenty of help available. Plus, she will have an associates degree when she graduates high school at no cost to us, provided she keeps her grades up. Our daughter is happy there, and we are delighted with our choice.

My experience at Early College High School has been of highly qualified and dedicated teachers, administration, and support staff. Students are given every opportunity to excel and earn college credit while still in high school. This web site is not updated and provides incomplete data. For example the graduation rates do not reflect that some of our students continue to take classes with us past the age of 18/high school diploma to complete their Associates Degree. Please visit the school and talk to them in person to get a complete picture of what Early College High School can offer your student.

Early College High School in District 11 is an innovative satellite campus of Pikes Peak Community College, graduating students with Associate degrees from PPCC! We pulled our daughter from District 20 and choiced her into D11 so that she could take college courses at an early age. Our daughter has been taking PPCC Spanish classes with ECHS since her 6th grade year. This year, as an 8th grade student, she will take college English (she had to test into the class via the Accuplacer test) and she will continue with her college Spanish courses too. By the end of 8th grade, my daughter will have earned 16 college credits, six of which are guaranteed to transfer to any Colorado university. She will definitely attend ECHS next year as a 9th grader, and through ECHS she will earn both her Associate of Science degree from PPCC as well as her Bachelor degree from UCCS. ECHS pays for all tuition, books, and fees at the going PPCC rate. Don't be misled by the erroneous data and information on this not-so-great "GreatSchools" site. District 11's Early College High School is the best thing happening educationally in Colorado Springs!
