After some really bad experiences regarding a schools response to my daughter’s individual needs this school has been a godsend. I’ll never be able to fully express my appreciation of thier support to our entire family through some difficult times, not to mention thier support of my daughter in particular. I hope we never have to attend another school as I have a second grader up and coming here as well. This school is a shining example of the direction schools need to be looking in how to better serve our students in today’s challenging and complicated environment.

They limit the amount of time students are to be spending on homework outside of school because they strongly support the entire student and recognize the need for kids to have some downtime from school. They support student’s emotional needs as much as they support their academic needs. The best part is this is enforced from the administration down so it really has become a culture of supportive and engaging staff serving the students. There’s always a bad apple in any environment but once attention is brought to an issue it is dealt with swiftly and effectively. I can’t say enough good things about the staff at this school!

As I stated above, there is always a bad apple in any environment and we definitively experienced one each year we were here, but the administration was incredibly supportive and involved in rectifying those individual situations. Given each student works with a team of 4 core teachers I think 3, maybe 2 1/2 since 7th wasn’t as bad as 6th and 8th, out of 12 is not bad. The majority of the teachers we had were incredible.

These traits are built into the school culture beginning in kindergarten. The school offers ample opportunities for its students to think about, explore and demonstrate these important traits. These traits are strongly encouraged through positive feedback when they are exemplified.

I can’t express my appreciation enough for the stance of the leadership at this school regarding the importance of fostering all areas of these young teens development. They really do believe in the importance of allowing these kids time to just be kids, that thier emotional development is just as important as their academic development. They also are well prepared and equipped to support students through a variety of difficult situations. I’ve seen the type of support offered in scenarios ranging from bullying, to suicide awareness and prevention, to students with special needs, both physical and emotional. I never imagined a school administration would be so involved in working diligently to come up with the best options to support a child who has different needs. They definitely think outside the box and employ any means available to tailor each students experience to what might work best for that individual student. Their dedication for helping every student find their place and feel successful is unprecedented in my experience with other schools.

My daughter has a neurological disorder that greatly affects her learning ability as well as limits her ability to even attend school. They have been amazing in the support she has been provided to give her access to an education without turning her away from the school she wants to be at with all her friends. They’ve come up with such creative ways to support her, they really have tailored her education directly to her needs.

We had a bullying incident in 6th grade that was so bad the police were involved. The school acted very strongly and swiftly on my daughter’s behalf to do whatever necessary to create a safe environment that she could feel secure in and be able to return to school. From the principle and vice principle down, all the adults she had contact with throughout the day were involved in helping her to feel secure about coming back and that she was safe and supported there. It was an incredible effort on behalf of the entire staff and she has felt very secure in attending there ever since.

Mr.Romero the MS Principal is involved in every aspect of student life. Educators are invested in student success and foul language, bullying and other such nonsense is NOT tolerated. Safe school, great learning environment.
