This school has been amazing for my kids. This is back to basics. Pen to paper, no excessive computer time. Kids are actually learning. Math is not common core. My kids went to Mountain View prior to this school. We kept getting told our kids were advanced and above their peers. When they came to this school, we found out just how far behind they actually were. The school works hard with the kids and gets them caught up. The rooms are about 25 to 1 and the teachers do not seem to be overwhelmed. I will say sometimes the homework can be a little much. But the kids are actually excelling. They have their own chef for the school and the food is amazing. The school has its own garden as well. Although they do not have traditional sports, they have clubs created by the kids. And actively ask the kids to make new clubs. I can not recommend this school enough! Out of the 4 different schools my kids have been to. This is by far the best!

My experience as a Current Cadet in Colorado Military Academy is really wholesome because when I first entered I was really excited that I was going to go to CMA and I was really excited to learn new things about the school. When I first entered, everyone was really nice and trustworthy. I really make new friends, they were really nice to me. It's a great school, it has new things every year, Its a really safe school for your kids. The staff its really funny, caring, wholesome and trustworthy. The staff is very funny, they would cheer your day up with a blasting joke. I would describe Colorado Military Academy Community as a very safe community. They would always look at the Cadet's safety, they would always do that. It's a really safe environment, there's no bullying, no bad stuff, they always take good care of their Cadet's. The teachers are really supportive, very helpful, very caring, very kind and mostly very trustworthy. You can trust every teacher, no matter what. If you have a problem they would help you solve it. CMA is a great school for any kid or high schooler, and I think that every parent should enrolled their kids in Colorado Military Academy because it is not just only a school, but also teaches you how to make goals, work in a team, and how to build good leadership skills.

I'm a former student that was a part of Colorado Military Academy for 3.5 Years and have had the most beneficial experience out of that school and I came out a better student and person,, with a strengthened body and character. We lived by the four core values of Integrity, Volunteer Service, Excellence, And Respect, and we integrated these into our day to day life as a student and a cadet. This school really has a bond like no other between teachers and Students/Cadets. I felt intertwined with that school and in return they paid me back with endless opportunities in the STEM and Aerospace field by allowing me to meet Pilots, Connect me with a CFI for my student Pilots License, going to airshows, and attending a build a plane class. I couldn't be more happy to have attended CMA

The bullying is really bad at this school. The teaching is amazing though. And some of the staffs are unfair for kids who want to get into cap and have everything to get in. Its good in certain areas but its a really unfair and rude school. The children are rude, they need to get better staff. And most of all it causes so much stress for your kids. Dont recommend

Do not recommend! Teachers are bullies and humiliate children. Do not reprimand young boys for assaulting girls by "slapping" them on the butt. If a child comes forward, that child is humiliated and not supported!

Do not send your children to this school. My oldest daughter was being slapped on the butt by 2 different students and the teacher refused to report it. I had to go in and complain to get it to stop. Then my you gest daughter had a messy desk and the teacher she had thought it was appropriate to tip her desk over and force her to clean everything up in front of all the other students. I withdrew my children immediately after that. They are still marking my kids absent. And refusing to acknowledge the withdraw forms. I am considering seeking legal action at this point.

I moved my girls to tho school 2 years ago. It was the best choice I ever made for them. The opportunity and education has been amazing. I recieve complments all the time about how smart my 5yo is. They are far above any school I have come in contact with.

My son and daughter have attended CMA since kindergarten; currently now in 5th and 4th grade. No school is perfect, its up to the parents to find the right learning facility/learning grounds for their children and purposely get involved with school events/activities to stay in the know. CMA is the perfect school for my children - the teachers and staff are amazing! We are also a military family so the school military inspired values align to our vision, standards, culture and goals. CMA continues to grow adding new activities, after school programs/clubs and sports team every year. The school lunch program has improved tremendously, CAP (Civil Air Patrol) continues to expand, comprehensive curriculum and STEM program for elementary cadets and doesnt stop there. The curriculum is very challenging however it is meant to excel/advance the cadets academically and prepares them for civilian or military careers after graduation. The students have multiple opportunities and options to choose from, they are not limited. The teachers and staff truly care, selfless and courageous individuals. Many of which are veterans or family members of veterans past, present and future - who have served this country and giving back to the community as educators. Even if the students decide not to join the military after graduation, the goal is for the students to be successful in anything and everything they choose to do. In order for the school to be successful, for the teachers/school staff to be successful and students to be successful - it requires parent participation, community involvement, networking, partnership and funding. CMA is doing phenomenal work and moving in the right direction!

I would not recommend this school unless youre strictly looking for your child to head to the military pathway. My daughter had a bad time here and got pushed into her locker multiple times without teachers noticing. Nobody listened when I talked to my sons teacher about his ADHD which he was struggling with times test and got his lunch taken away. He had to do 100 pushups one time because when he got back from the bathroom he found during that a kid talked during a lesson and he had to do the pushups alone causing kids to giggle at him. There is many other things but I wouldnt recommend this school especially if your planing for your child to go to collage. This is school is a disappointment to the community and Im happy my children are now in public schools. They get buillded less, less homework, better education and many other improvements. It did cause them to be missing some basic math skills and English but they got better over time with their schools help of extra classes and recovery resources.

My child has been attending CMA since the 6th grade and she absolutely loves it. My child aspires to attend USAFA and this school helps unlock key leadership skills and knowledge. That will help her achieve her goals.

I have had 4 of my boys at this school at we are impressed with the change in their overall performance and grades. It feels good when your kids come home from school to tell you they actually feel cared about at this school and don't feel treated like another number. Of course there have been some teachers in the past I didn't exactly agree with, but at the end of the day, I am so thankful that my kids get to be apart of a school who teach the same fundamentals we tech our children at home.

Our time at CMA, my child has thrived. He has recived the support from his teachers whenever needed. All the extra tutoring provided for academics is great. Since moving to CMA my kiddo feels safe and more comfortable speaking his mind.

Love this school! Staff and teachers go above and beyond to accommodate all students! The small school environment is extremely diverse yet offers tons of opportunities to learn different skills academically as well as socially and emotionally.

I had such high hopes in this school. But was sadly I was wrong. The staff with this school don't follow protocol. They fail to respond or call to set up meetings. My grandson was traumatized. My over all experience was horrible. I would not refer anyone to this school.

I would never go back to this school the teachers are very rude to secondary, there are way too many people bullying, and nothing is being done about it. There are very few good teachers at this school but somehow they always end up leaving/getting fired. Do not come to this school because homework load misunderstandings and bullying play a big role in this school. I mean like yes there might be some good opportunities and what not but it's not worth it.

I have worked in a lot of different environments. The teachers/staff are dedicated to their cadets. I enjoy working here and I feel supported by my administration. Every school has it's good and bad days, but we are quick to address things and continue to grow and improve.

My children have been attending Colorado Military Academy for three years now, and it has been a wonderful experience for them. One of the many reasons that we chose CMA was because of their excellent civil air patrol program; which teaches valuable skills like leadership and strategic thinking, as well as, offering the unique opportunity to learn how to fly helicopters. The instructors are amazing and are always welcoming to the parents input. Overall, we hold this school in high regard.

Two of my kids go to CMA. One of them has been there since the doors opened. I have loved the support and effort that the school has given. They truly care. People need to remember that not all schools (actually, none) are perfect. I always say that if you want to see change, enact it yourself. Teachers are definitely not super heroes, and Parents need to be responsible for their childrens education also.
My boys have excelled in this school and have opportunities that no other students in any other school could/would have. I am very thankful for the supporting and loving staff that care for my children when they are not in my care. I would be happy to answer any questions that you have regarding the school.

The teachers are amazing at what they do! My kids have been at CMA for 4 years and will be 5 in Aug for the new school year. There are active engagements, after school activities, learning programs and before/after school care (Rocket Club - within operational hours) for the cadets. The cadets are successful when parents are active and partner with their teachers cohesively. Like every other school, there is room for opportunities to grow, develop and restructure if needed (whether it is the curriculum, remedial programs for cadets with behavioral issues or providing new pathways to raise funds for the school). I admire CMA and I truly appreciate the dedication the school board, staff and teachers have contributed to make CMA a success. CMA has such profound pride in what they do, one of 3 military academy in CO and are strong supporters to the military communities/families. I look forward to increased growth and higher learning for the cadets!

I have two children that have gone to CMA for two years. We have had great teachers and a good experience overall. The school makes it a point to get communication out as soon as possible and the additional clubs, free tutoring, and extracurricular activities have made my kids excited to participate. The convenience of living on Peterson SFB with easy access to the school is just an added bonus.

School staffing were very friendly in welcoming my daughter on her first day. Mrs. Gibson took great care of my daughter and made sure she felt comfortable on her first day. She also had a few girls show her around and she had ordered pizza for the girls on lunch break.

This school has a huge problem with teachers bullying kids, and kids bullying kids. I have never seen teachers degrading or targeting their students like I have at this school. They have favorites. Depending on who you are, the administration will turn a blind eye to anything and everything certain students do. They are not fair across the board. They have a zero bullying policy yet do nothing about the childrens mental health being endangered there by students and teachers. This has nothing to do with the military concept of the school, students and teachers are literally just mean there. They dont call you when something happens to your child, they dont send home accident reports, and are pretty dishonest. Over all, there are a few great teachers there, and the elementary school is fairly well ran. As for the secondary (7th-12th), the teachers are lack luster at best, the turnover is high, and the teachers are severely unprofessional. My child had 3 math teachers last year, and one who put the kids on Khan Academy to learn instead of teaching. Theres a few that are good things, but not enough to say, youd be making a good decision to place your student at this school. This school lacks both professionalism and organization.

I absolutely love this school. My three children have been thriving in their academics with teachers consistently showing an active interest in harnessing their continuous growth. In addition, they share the same values I teach my children at home with discipline, responsibility, and initiative. I recommend this school to everyone.

I have two elementary boys there. They are doing well and thriving. My youngest (1st) doubled some of his test scores by the end of the year. My other child (5th) stayed at average or improved by the end of the year on his test scores. The teachers are fun and have been accommodating to my son's emotional issues.

This school is going down hill. I have a special need kid. Some teachers wont help him others ignore his learning plan. Then my child was sent to office several times for thing he did not do. Ones that could have put him in jail. The dean never called me for any of the issues, just said he didnt do didnt think I needed to call., but had him in office several hours. Not long after he was kicked out of military studies after I found out did not follow his learning plan and would not help son. Then suspended not long after for stupid joke.

I would avoid this school at all costs, especially the secondary school. I left this school because I couldnt in good conscience recommend to anyone to send their students to the school I was teaching at. They have had some great teachers move through the school, but most good teachers simply move through. The top levels of their administration has no business running a school. Most decisions are made by people that have spent no time in the classroom. When teachers bring concerns to them the response is essentially, you should feel lucky you have a job, if you dont like it leave, and people have. The secondary school is a revolving door of teachers. The middle school is on their second English teacher, third Social Studies Teacher, and third Science teacher this year. The administration doesnt know how to do their due diligence when hiring teachers, they would rather fill the position with the first warm body that shows up rather than find the right person for the job. The result is an abundance of teachers with little to no teaching experience. The biggest problem is that the administration does almost nothing to help train those teachers, they are just thrown to the wolves. The school constantly looks like garbage, there is all kinds of trash on the floors. When students get in trouble in school they are often left to just sit in the office so they arent a problem for anyone. Other times they are sent to collect trash from around the building and then take it out to the dumpster on their own, with no supervision. It is common to see kids out in the parking lot and climbing all over their dumpsters. Half of the elective classes in their secondary school are proctored by an adult, but they just go in a room and do online lessons, with no instruction, support, or accountability. For example, all of their foreign language classes are just going to a lab putting on headphones and doing Rosetta Stone all day everyday. The quality of the education is abysmal, and the school has shown very little interest in improving it. Administrations only concern is putting butts in seats for their $8k per student. Many of the kids dont mind because they can just sit and talk to their friends or play games and goof off. There are some bright spots in the teaching staff, but I cant imagine those individuals will stick around for too long. This is all just the tip of the iceberg, but hopefully it is enough to convince you to run for the hills.

This school gears most of its support to students of military families and not to the school community as a whole. Because the support is not even across the board I am pulling my child out of this school and placing him into a school that is in the top ten in Colorado and treat all their students with respect and dignity no matter the background of the student.

As a student homework flow is not bad at all but at times it can be excessive. I strongly disagree on how good the homework is because of how large the gap is in the learning curve between subjects. It is like this due to the constant flow of teachers that were actually adequate enough to teach the class enough so they can do the homework are actually leaving due to both students and lack of communication from administration.

Many of the teachers that actually taught the subject have left and we are left with teachers that teach and we understand or teachers that dont teach at all. Unfortunately we have more of the teachers that don't teach appearing in specifically math. The rest so far have been fine. But it is also hard to keep up because of how many teachers dissapear each year.

Most of the time bullying is unaddressed by anybody even when comes to the loint that students are trying to stop it and teachers and staff just watch. The school only takes action when a fight breaks out and as a result both people in the fight are suspended.
