My kids have been at this school for about three years now, and there are definitely some positives. There are a few truly great teachers — Mrs. Leach being one of the best — and overall the school feels safe for the kids. I appreciate that part a lot.

However, there are some areas that need improvement. One of the teachers comes across as pretty disengaged, which is disappointing and doesn’t leave the best impression. I’m also not sure the kids are being challenged enough academically, especially at the 2nd-grade level. My child often finishes work quickly or isn’t pushed to their potential.

Another thing that concerns me is the behavior of some students. There are quite a few kids who seem pretty unregulated, and my child gets told not to “tattletale,” which makes it tough for them to feel emotionally comfortable speaking up. That part doesn’t feel great.

But the biggest frustration by far has been the snow day decisions. The number of full-day closures is honestly out of control. For example, December 4th should not have been a full snow day — a delayed start would’ve been more than enough, especially since the weather cleared up by mid-morning. This is just one example out of many over the past few years. If you’re a working parent or don’t have a very flexible schedule in winter, it becomes a real challenge. Other nearby schools often choose delayed starts, but this school seems to close far more quickly and more often.

Overall, I don’t think students are pushed academically as much as they could be, and the teachers seem a bit overworked. The extremely frequent snow days are the most frustrating part of the experience.

There are definitely good people here and the school does feel safe, but there are several areas — especially academic challenge and decision-making around closures — that could really improve.

Overall, I would rate this school a 1.5. If I need to elaborate, here it goes. While some teachers genuinely show concern for their students, there are significant problems regarding fairness and leadership within this institution. The level of favoritism is evident—certain students receive preferential treatment based on their parents' status or background. Accountability is not applied consistently; I can attest to that. Furthermore, discipline is not enforced uniformly. For instance, there are times when my child comes home and shares incidents where he was hurt or left alone by another student. However, when he defended himself, I received a message stating that he was disrespectful and disruptive in class. Occasionally, the messages I receive are about trivial matters. Yet, when my son is injured at school, they do not inform us immediately; instead, they wait until the end of the day to notify us. Conversely, if he is not attentive, they promptly send us a text, which is often from his teachers. Additionally, if they do not witness the actions of other students, they remain silent about those children and the consequences of their behavior. Numerous issues have been quietly managed to avoid drawing public attention rather than being properly addressed for the safety of the students. In my personal experience, I have encountered teachers who denied yelling at students, which I have witnessed firsthand. Another administrator imposed a punishment this year for actions that multiple students committed last year without any consequences. If a student or family does not conform to the image that the administration prefers, it becomes apparent and impacts how that child is treated. The problem lies not with the students but with the teachers and the entire leadership at this school. There is a pressing need for stronger accountability, transparency, and consistency, as well as kinder teachers who genuinely care about their students.They hired a few good teachers, but few months later they were let go . I get it they want teachers who are mean and meet their standards , but not a nice teacher . I have experience with this school for 4 years . And it’s always something new with the school . The teachers sure like gossip a lot . They talk about students they do not like and treat them really bad if their not on their good list . This school is on my list of do not go if you want your child to feel inferior.

Well I don’t recommend this school at all I opened my tomato and it came out green yes green all the food is expired and really bad. There is a bully but the recess isn’t great at all the field isn’t good either the cafeteria is the gym and teachers are rude

I wanted to love it but we did one year and we are done! The teachers are all nice but they are being overloaded with huge class sizes and zero support. They do not have teacher assistants and the 2nd grade classroom had 28 students!!!!. They also do not have reading teachers!!! Zip zero!! If a student needs extra help the teacher leaves 27 to fend for themselves to give someone a little extra help. I’m paying a tutor outside of school for reading because this is not a priority at this school. They offer a bunch of mediocre specials instead of offering the basics math and reading(check their scores it shows!) this school does not have a library!! A library!!! I searched this city and choiced into a different school for next year that takes the basics seriously and has reading groups with a reading teacher for kids that need a bit more and a big beautiful library!

The principle is nowhere to be found and doubt she knows any students by name!! I’ve seen her once said hi and she looked at me and looked back down. She has an aura of being very stuck up!

The shining star is assistant principal Mr Lesano! He loves the students and knows them and is visible to the students and parents! If he were the principal maybe things would be different!

This school shouldn’t be allowed to operate. There is so much racism within the school, and the majority of their students do not even perform at grade level. The principal is only present when there’s a photo opportunity for Facebook. It’s very sad.

My kids love this school. When my oldest entered kinder it was his first school experience. I always wanted to homeschool but he wanted this. The experience has surpassed expectations. I love that the kids learn 2 languages and coding from kinder on, then in middle school they pick one of those to continue. Field trips are educational, immersive. A true STEAM school not just STEM. Parents are encouraged to volunteer throughout the yeaR. Teachers keep parents updated with daily status of activities and classroom photos. The school is at communication. The only issue I see is the student teacher ratio is on the high end, but teachers always have classroom helpers and there are no issues that go unaddressed. There is a STEAM fair later in the year and all the classes have projects to showcase. You get to see the level of work older students do as well as your child. Last year there were functional robots built my students, 3d art, ans student designed chess pieces made with a 3d printer. This year is our second year at the school. The school was expanding and it made for some drop off and pickup changes. Other than that, my children are happy and thriving.

This school isn't very good. Lunches should NOT qualify as food, as they are revolting. The teachers are decent. Bullying isn't too big of a problem here, but the bullies are just mean girls. They are WAY too strict about everything tech. They have this list of 'approved websites' where you are only allowed on the websites (e.g.: things on clever) they list, despite a lot not being blocked by GoGuardian. GoGuardian is extremely aggressive and blocks almost everything, including things that shouldn't be blocked. Also, it is sweltering in many of the classrooms, such as math, ela, and more that I can't remember at the moment. They have a lot of rules that make no sense and are unfair. We HAVE to put our backpacks at the back of the classroom. Moving away from those things, the learning is decent, although pretty slow.
