We have 2 children at this school. One is Developmentally disabled and on an IEP our students are supported and encouraged in so many ways. They truly are a welcoming supportive environment for all students. When we couldn't get supports for our student at a different charter school we moved them to Evans, and he got the supports and things they needed to be successful. Our students love going to school and seeing all the supportive welcoming staff.

This school was not a good experience; however, I never should have placed my child here, so that's on me. We only needed a school for 5th grade and planned to tour and decide on a school for the duration of middle school. Although Evans was convenient in some respects, it did more harm than good.

Not great, especially if your child has any special needs. Unfortunately all the other schools are filled to the rim and if you moved in the area recently there are zero options.
Evans is basically a school where you take your child if you know you should home school but you can't because of reasons beyond your control. We know our son isn't learning anything in there, but basically he needs to be in school in order to become a part of society, so I guess the learning will continue to happen from YouTube, books and the internet and Evans is mostly like a free baby sitter. Very sad but what can you do, Colorado Springs isn't going to just up and build a bunch of new schools... we'll see what middle school brings and if it's just as bad we might home school later on.

Unfortunately this school has little to no conflict resolution skills and the principal does not encourage healthy relationships between students, or between herself and parents.

This school has constant turnover with both teachers and leadership, with some leaving in the middle of the year, and both the Principal and Assistant Principal being removed last year after only a few years in their roles. The principal before that was removed by the school board and somehow now principal at the nearby D49 middle school. Now, during e-learning, there seems to be very little actual teacher instruction time throughout the 4 day school week, and I seriously question whether or not the school is actually providing enough content to meet education requirements. Nobody could have predicted the pandemic and the impact on schooling, but it sounds like some schools and districts have a much better grasp on how to teach through e-learning.

Utterly terribly. The principal of this school is entirely too difficult to deal with on a civilized basis. I will be taking all of my issues directly to the school board from now on.
