The teachers and staff at this school are great—no complaints there. But the student environment? Completely out of control.
The bullying at this school is constant. It’s not just one kid—it’s one after another. It’s so bad that there are literally videos online called “Fox Meadow fights.” That alone should tell you everything.
My son has never been in a fight in his life, but after being bullied all year, he finally had enough near the end of the school year and defended himself. And somehow, he was the one treated like the problem.
A teacher grabbed my son, forced his hands behind his back, and hurt him. That is absolutely unacceptable. No child should be bullied for months and then physically handled like that when they finally stand up for themselves.
At this point, it feels like the bullying runs the school, not the staff. The teachers may be good people, but the environment is not safe, and it’s clearly not under control.
I would not recommend this school to any parent who actually cares about their child’s well-being.

For the most part, there are SOME wonderful teachers at this school BUT, they are completely unsupported by their administration and the district.

They try. Not the administration but the support staff and teachers do. Admins answer to everything is to suspend, expell and arrest children instead of doing their jobs. They'd rather get rid of a "problem" than try to help the problem.

Instead of supporting kids with learning disabilities, they make it out like the child is a disciplinary issue. When in fact, the child is u supported and left to basically fend for themselves. IEP support is horrible.

Nope!...again. There is a bullying culture these days. So I wouldn't necessarily blame the school on this one but there isn't any program or method set in place to minimize bullying at all. I will say that a couple of the teachers are very unprofessional and unethical and bully the children with the help of admin. Not personal opinion but fact.

Let me just say, I invite change and I support change. In a lot of ways it encourages and supports growth BUT, this new administration at this school is absolutely the worse I have ever experienced in 6 years. Ms. Layman (principal) and Mrs. Brunton (asst. Principal) are horrible at their jobs and they have caused many children to have traumatic experiences at the school this year. If they could get rid of those 2, the school would be in a better place. They pick on children of color by suspending and arresting them at alarming rates over things that could have been handled in house. They truly do not care for or about our children. They stereotype them and treat them as if they are all criminals. It would be nice if they respected the parents and children. They just might get different results.q

They hardly ever assign homework and if they do, its a worksheet. Most of their work is done in class

This school takes nothing seriously not fire drills, bomb or shooting threats or bullying it’s by far the worst school I’ve dealt with

There was a lot of bullying and the teachers were close to being extremely rude. They were no help to students

I am a parent of a child who is having issues with self harm and not once have anyone called me with concerns for my child, and one year I was freaking out because my child never called to let me know she was staying after and she never showed up home or did not go to Grandmas house so I called the school and no one answered so I left a voicemail asking for someone to return my call because my child never showed up after school and no one bothered to return my call on that either, this school does not care about the well being of a child or the safety of a child for that matter either! It's really disappointing that they noticed my child cutting her wrist at school and never bothered to call me or anyone to up any concern!!! Really makes me mad! I would never recommend this school for anyone! Worst school ever!!!!

We had just moved to the area, and our daughter who loved school was actually asking if she could be home schooled. With a doctor's note due to an injury to her hand excusing her from writing, the female gym teacher told her she could write with her left hand, she has a documented muscle weakness. This lady belittled our daughter by then asking the entire classroom if anyone was ever hurt by writing with their other hand. One of the vice principals told us that the request for not writing for two days was unreasonable, and excusing her from writing was with a doctor's note. What is unreasonable is the attitude of the staff at this school. I personally had NO problems with the other staff, and the teachers we met were great. The choir teacher is talented with the kids, and is an amazing asset to the school. This was such a minor incident, but was handled entirely wrong in major ways. We went to see the district student advisor, and he agreed with us over the entire incident. Thank God for K12, because public school should not involve such high drama.

I pulled my daughter out of this school. Fox Meadow needs to raise the bar and get staff in order with how to handle situations appropriately. Female gym teacher disrespects parents, children and ignores doctor notes, and also brings attention of class to a child struggling or with injury. School nurse won't help a child without a hall pass, even if in pain from a migraine. If a teacher sends a child to her without a pass, the child has to go back and get a pass to be helped. Both assistant principals on staff do a good job of listening, but really doesn't seem to resolve situations to make sure situations do not occur again. One told me that the doctor note requiring no use of right hand for two days was "unreasonable". Also, said that kids tend to "exaggerate". School needs to improve staff policy so that everyone is on the same page as how to respect while educating, respect parents, and understand that doctors notes are not "suggestions". Aside from problems we've experienced with staff, there are typical bullying issues here. With my experience with staff I'd have to question how these bully situations are addressed. I didn't keep her enrolled long enough to test that.

This is by far the worst school I have ever delt with. The students are horrible and treat each other horribly. I have gone to this school for two years now and the school is horrible. We have had trouble with every thing the school is involved with.

Don't send your kids here if you want them to get bullied and treated unfairly. My son tells me that the students in this school aren't respectful at all. Whenever I drop him off in the morning, there are students who are cussing like sailors to each other. My son got called by a bunch of cuss words! Two eighth grade girls outside the cafeteria in the morning were holding hands and start kissing each other. My son gets made fun of everyday and there are always rumors spreading around about him. He already reported this bullying incident yet not one staff helped him solve this issue. His report card came out on the 2nd quarter of the school year and I saw that he was failing his math class, so I requested his math teacher some needed extra help for him. They never did help him and by the end of 3rd quarter, his math grade lowered more. Also, during winter, it was about 21 degrees F in the morning and all the kids are left outside, freezing to death! Teacher quality in this school is already bad, students need to learn to be more respectful, and the bullying issue in this school needs to be solved!

Don't send your kids here if they are on an IEP because of disabilities. They will be in a rigid, inflexible and reactive environment focused on behavior rather than motivating academic and social success.
