This school and most of their educators are a Joke! The principals are HORRIBLE! When there is a problem with your child they could careless. When they act like they care they talk to you, promise they will get back with you and that's the last you hear from them. The people at the Administration building are the same way; left multiple messages with no return call at all. The Principal talks down to your child and puts them down, as of she (assistant principal) is superior to them, she is a Joke, sjr doesn't know how to communicate with an adult, as we tried to have a conversation and she kept hanging up on me, but apologized when I went in person. She did have the security lie to me, saying she was not there. DONT send your child here, it's worth it to drive out of district for your child!!!

HATE the principal and assistant principal. They are the most UNSUPPORTIVE and UNPROFESSIONAL administration I have ever experienced in my life. Please don't have any concerns for any situation at the school. They don't call you back until you go to extreme measures. Then everybody wants to make sure they help you with excessive harassing phone calls. They don't care about the students at all and it shows!

Absolutely not! The amount of fights that result from bullying is appalling! They tried the "dude, be nice" campaign, its completely ineffective.

The ones I have met are at 50/50. Some are great, some need a few more years in school. Some are extremely young and have no life skills and are basically in the same age bracket with the students they are teaching which brings in a lot of questionable behavior and they cause you to question their ability to effectively teach students so close to their age, professionally and ethically.

They try but, its hard to develop those chracteristics when the admistration and some of the staff do not exhibit those characteristics. You lead by example and a lot of their examples are not good.

The homeowork is not incredibly difficult or challenging for that matter.

The principal and some of the coaches behavior is extremely questionable. No one does anything to support parents and their concerns from the school to the district. If you are a concerned, involved and supportive parent...they don't support you at all. The counselors are garbage and allow your children to fail. Their counselor to student ratio is half of what the state average is which means they can do more but they don't. If your child is not exceptional or someone's favorite in the athletic department, they could care less about your child.

There is a need for leadership who truly care in this district and school. It’s very sad that many of these students are failing and falling through the cracks. Not a lot of parental involvement.

Some teachers care and some of them don’t. Students can very easily wander the halls all day.

Yesterday, August 7, 2015...I went to Harrison check in (registration) for my Freshman. My daughter and I were very excited and ready to meet some of the faculty and staff. Unfortunately, the staff was very rude, mean, short tempered and just came off like they didn't want to be there. With the exception of the nice older lady who was taking the forms for opting out of the military contact, the lady who gave you your final packet and the ladies who gave the schedules. They were pleasant. The heavy set, older lady who sat at the table for the athletic passes was so mean, bitter and rude! She yelled at another staff member in front of anout 15 to 20 parents, students and children because the other staff member was misinformed about a situation concerning photo IDs for the students. First impressions are the lasting impressions and I am extremely nervous about sending my daughter to this school. The bad part is that all of this was before 9 am. Sheesh! I hope this wasn't an indication to how this school year will be.

Harrison HS has come a long way in the past few years. Its test scores, student conflict rates, and graduation rates have climbed. That said, there is an inherent problem when teachers are part of a pay-for-performance system. Due to the often transient nature of the student population, test scores are not necessarily representative of teacher effort. Because many parents do not speak English, parent-teacher communication is difficult. Students do not always have the resources they need in the classrooms. There is no PTA. And in general, the school seems to care a great deal more about teachers' salaries than in placing students where they can best achieve.

No books given to students or at least with special education. Very bad sign. Notes written by teacher/assistant inaccurate.

Harrison is a great school and has improved a lot over the years and continues to get better. The education itself was very good, and the teachers and coaches were all involved and amazing. I attended and graduated with excellent grades, took honor's courses, excelled in athletics and extracurricular activities, and I was very prepared for college. I did attend another high school briefly, but it was terrible compared to Harrison.

Very unhappy with this school. Did not see any involement from the teachers or counselors to help my daughter who moved mid year. They knew she was struggling but I was not contacted to get her tutoring and couldnt get a response to my calls. A lot of drug issues too.
