The elementary school outperforms the middle school in every category. The principals in the elementary school are very receptive to parent discussions and helpful. However, there are many non-certified teachers at both schools. This makes it difficult for scholars to receive a stellar education. The middle school is subpar at best. There is poor communciation, lack of communication and collaboration with teachers. Constant fights/brawls. Substitute teachers text on their phone and then finally attempt to stop the fights. Lack of instructional effort, processes and procedures, lack of accountability with administration, students, parents, and teachers. I would possible recommend the elementary school, depending on who the teacher is. I definitely would NOT recommend the middle school to anyone.

I love CSNC! my child has been going to CSNC since kindergarten. I am very happy with my child's progress over the years. Thanks to all the teachers, (especially Ms. Christian, Mr. Perkins, Ms. Fowler and Ms. Alston). I am really pleased with my child's progress, the communication, and all the staff are very approachable. Even during the summer when my child went through a traumatic experience, the school reached out to me and even sent him a care package. Once he returned to school that next school year. Ms Valentine pulled me aside to let me know they have resources if I thought my son needed them and that they were there to help. We love CSNC and thank all of you for all you do.

My children started going to this school in 2019. And they have been treated phenomenal. The teachers and staff have been an extended family. The atmosphere is filled with love, caring, positivity and happiness. I am happy my husband and I chose this school for our children and grandchildren.

This school was fun on the first day and 2 weeks but now this white teacher is new when somebody do something the whole class as to suffer the consequences for them and it gets on my nerves and you have to do a test on the 5 week but you can send your child there for f you want to.

Every year Dr. Odumosu set new goals for the school to accomplish. The goals are reviewed throughout the school year to see how much progress has been made. She pushes us to self reflect to be effective not only in our craft but as a team member.

I have found that Charter School of New Castle has a very strong teaching staff and leadership team. They do a wonderful job of teaching the current common core curriculum and adapting it to meet the needs of all learners. The climate team is responsive and handles any difficult situation they encounter with effective and immediate action. The school also has a growing after school program!

Charter School of New Castle, formally FFA, is 100% dedicated to using data to inform classroom instruction. All students are pushed to grow both academically and socially. The staff treat each child like they are their own. It is a wonderful place to send you child to get prepared to attend some of the top high schools in the state.

The school is poorly attempting to redeem its history of poor leadership due to the fact that the previous administration embezzled money. However, the leadership is highly ineffective and they fail to communicate critical information to parents.

This school is one of the worst schools in the State! My child was bullied often and the administration did very little to rectify the situation. Additionally, it is like a bootcamp for kids. There is a lot of shouting at students and many behavior problems due to the lack of experienced teachers and administrators. The school tests the students all of the time, however, the test scores are not improving. They have no real plan to assist these students. I took my child out of this school within months. Honestly, the State of Delaware needs to shut this school down. The location of the school makes it a danger zone with many kids complaining of issues with ticks being on their clothing after playing outside in the school's "playground" which is just a open field in New Castle's warehouse section. I would rate this school a 1 out of 10.

We relocated from another state and my child always had an issue adjusting to new environments. I was a little nervous at first, but once I met the leaders and teachers I knew my child would be successful. I have direct cell numbers to the counselor, teachers and dean of students. When I go into the office they know who I am, my child is involved in 3 afterschool activities. When her grades started to decline her teachers contacted me immediately. I absolutely love this school and pray they add a high school in the next couple of years.

Students don't receive guidance on how to complete homework. They just receive a big work packet weekly (elementary) and the middle school barely gives he.

A rigorous and safe school that is one of the best alternatives for Wilmington inner city kids.

The school (teschers and administration alike) do a good job but, generally, the students are rough around the edges and have trouble with behavior. My two children attended this year and it was my sons first snapshot of what an elementary school looks like, hence he was in Kindergarten.

After several bus incidents (not to mention numerous bus pick-up delays) we made it through the year. Mrs. R and Ms. K (K & 2, respectively) were great at inspiring our littles to reach beyond their grade level. If it wasn't for the unruly students disrupting the learning environments I would consider sending them back.

I'm sure you hear complaints from time to time, but I wanted you to know that we appreciate Ms. Wells and her hard work. So far, she has made 2014-2015 a great learning experience for my nephew during a difficult transition in his life. I appreciate the quick responses and the time she takes to show how much she cares about her students. She definitely goes above and beyond. I had reservations about FFA in the beginning and thanks to Ms. Wells, I am happy with our decision. Also, your front office staff personnel do a great job. Thanks again.

I have had a horrible experience with this school. My son is in kindergarten. He is a very smart and active kid. He came home crying and telling me kids were picking on h I'm and hitting him. When I reported it, they were making excuses saying he hit first. He was suspended off the buss twice for three days because he defended himself. He was placed I n to a behavior modification program without my consent. He began to have stomach aches and diarrhea everyday before school. The classroom size is more than the teachers can handle. The Bus Company That This School Has Contracted With is awful, the bus driver is rude and never of time. The bus driver called my son bad in front of me and my son. I was so distraught and dissatisfied. I am currently trying to get my son out of this school.

If you are thinking about enrolling your child into Family Foundations Academy, I would advise you to think about that again. Besides the fact that they are unable to keep good teachers, the children are not treated the best. While my daughter was in 1st grade here, her two front teeth were knocked out by a little boy. I was not notified, however, they did send her teeth home with her. That is just one example of their excellence. When my son was in first grade, he asked his teacher to use the bathroom and was denied because she was in the middle of a lesson plan. As a result, he urinated on himself. They had the nerve to email me and tell me that he urinated on himself, but never told me the cause or reason. I could go on and on about the antics within this school but if you put your child in, you can believe that your child will be next.

We were originally very excited to go to FFA with my daughter in K. Throughout the year that excitement turned into dread. My daughter, who is a happy bubbly child started complaining of stomach aches every morning she had to go to school. Now, my child is not perfect however the reports of her behavior from school were awful. Turns out that she was being bullied and she was getting in trouble for sticking up for herself when the teacher would not. She was separated from class activities on several occasions and nothing ever happened to the other child. At one point my daughter told me that she felt like she couldn't go to her teacher for help and that she felt like she was NOT a part of the class. Once the school year ended, the stomach aches ended. Now she is back to her happy self. Needless to say, she will not be attending this school for first grade

My daughter attended this school for one year. It was like she LOST a year and hasn't completely recuperated. She struggles to catch up and we spend a lot of money on tutors. RUN away from this school!

I have read the negative reviews here and I want to say that I have had no issues like they are complaining about. My daughter is in Kindergarten and I am very happy with her education and I love her teacher. I am a very involved parent when it comes to my child's education and I have regular communication with the teacher and she always responds quickly, even on weekends! The only complaint I would have is that I feel the amount of schoolwork and homework is excessive for Kindergarten, but I also understand they are keeping up with the requirements that they have to teach the kids by the end of the year.

This is a school with high expectations. Many of these negative comments are from parents who do not follow the schools policy. I have seen many parents out of pocket and it is because they do not want to read the policy. The school is not in danger of being closed therefore, students are learning. The special education students are not socially promoted so they raise the bar. Public school just pass them on. Speak of your own experience and take accountability for your actions. These comments are very interesting to read. They are not the majority experience.

If you are considering this school I would strongly suggest that you research all your options. Communication is poor and faculty is extremely rude when it comes to serious matters. Your child will not be treated with respect or cared for as you would expect from a school. It is truly about the money that they are given and that you provide. The well being of your child will not be considered. I am very disappointed in the quality of this school and the carelessness that they provide to the children especially the principal. It saddens me that this type of leadership is responsible for a school full of children. I look forward to transferring my child to a better school and environment next school term. Please do not send your child there. You will regret it. From a parent to another it is in your best interest to go for another option

I have seen this school over the past 4 years go from a school trying to provide a great education to their students, to a school who is making good on their promise and delivering an excellent education. Its elementary school could be a model for other schools to follow. Its middle school has become a school that emphasizes discipline and a positive climate for students to learn. Overall, I would recommend this school for any parent who is looking for a great place for their children learn.

My child attended the elementary school in the fourth grade an struggle with the overwhelming amount of school work. When I reached out to the assistant principle and administrative assistant, no response. When my child entered the fifth grade (middle school) the scholastic experience became worse. The communication with the principle, guidance counselor, and dean of students is terrible. My child was bullied, fought back in self defense and was suspended. When I tried to reach out to the guidance counselor and dean of students to look further into the cause of the fight, they were non-responsive. The teacher turnover rate is ridiculous. My child went months without a permanent Science teacher and never brought science work home the entire year. It appears that English and Math are the only important subjects (DCAS testing). The school is disorganized and after chaperoning a field trip, I can see the lack of control over the student body. I know a few other families who have not returned back to this school for the following year. Its a good concept, but a poorly executed school.

All sound very good on paper but the discipline needs to improve, not just on the hallways but the girls bathroom is their club house and staff allow it. Bathroom doesn't have toilet paper much but soap definitely haven't have almost on the entire year! I guess those essential are not being part of the crucial hygiene protocol, the food in the cafeteria is pretty bad, and again no hand washing reinforcement especially if they know there is no soap in the students restroom! Te recess is hardly any supervision and if any if more to protect their stuff but not necessary watching the kids specially for bullying, my daughter is begging me to not send her back there, on the bus there is no control, kids can stand while the bus is driving around, they can be listening to profanity on the bus radio with unappropriated music or at the drivers music device or listening to the drivers unappropriated conversation...quality of student must be address. They have some good teachers but others teachers should be review and check on, many yell at the students and loose control of the classes...I was expecting more of a FAMILY and its FOUNDATIONS but sadly is very disfuncional

My children both attended the FFA elementary up until this point I have had minimum complaints. I recently received a call from the Co-Director whom I have never spoken to. Her deliverance of the message she was trying to convey was very demeaning and rude. She then pursued to inform my children's teachers of my personal situation which I feel is very inappropriate. Accountability is one of their core values, when I addressed her with my issues she became condescending and patronizing and would not own her part of the situation. How can you be in a position to impact our most valuable asset and enforce something that you can't even do. -Highly disappointed parent.

My experience with FFA has become less than desirable.The school lacks the basic resources needed to fully implement the curriculum. There seems to be a high turnover rate with the staffing at FFA. This leaves the children with a feeling of instability, which is extremely important at this stage in their lives. Two of my children are now on their 3rd math teacher this year.I find most of the teachers and staff to lack professionalism and compassion for their students. Children are denied bathroom breaks, are told to shut up and request to go to the nurse go unnoticed. One teacher told the students they don t have any rights . Three weeks ago, my son was grabbed by his shirt collar by a teachers assistant; I have yet to hear back from Dr. Brewington regarding this.This No Bully Zone policy is the biggest joke of all. Students are constantly bullied and nothing is done about it. When students are not being bullied by other students, they have the teachers to worry about; the biggest bullies in the school. They will not be returning next year.

My daughter is a 5th grader at this school and i must say I'm not too happy with this school. The staff is very unprofessional and I couldnt believe the atmosphere and environment of the school. The school as major behavior issues and do not know how to control the students. They also advertise clubs, and extra activities thy are going to have and they do not follow through wiht it. When you ask the teachers or the staff they have no idea what you are talking about. One of my daughters teachers walked out in quit in the beginning of the year. she was one of the teachers having a hard time controling the class. the staff does not commmunicate very well with the parents. I could go on and on about this school. my daughter will finish the year at this school but we will not return for the following year.
