This is NOT a good school! Most staff members couldn’t care less about the wellbeing of your child or their needs. Rules are made up as they go based on whether or not they like you or your child. They have multiple fundraising every year with promises of better campus and equipment with absolutely no follow up on that promise. If you prefer your children to be treated with no respect, mocked, this might be the right detention center.

well I'm totally disagree with homework my daughter spend around 8 hours in the school and around 2 hours making homework is too hard for her she doesn't have time for extracurricular activities so may be light homework will better.

they have super attention in this area, I love it every week or 15 days every student go in the office and talk about if some one bother him/she so I think it is really good my daughter feels safe.

Teaching methods are dated and short sighted. Not open to adaptation. Strict adherence to rules, no matter the circumstances, is priority number one.

Students are following rules because they are forced to "Obey". It's akin to sheep herding and is mindless obedience. My dog does the same thing, although I wouldn't consider him respectful.

Since this is a private school, we are basically paying a premium (over public school) for a premium service. If this were any other service, I would not continue to give them my business, nor will I with FBCS. I do not recommend this school to anyone.

Very pleased with the academics and spiritual aspect of the school. My daughters teachers were compassionate about the students learning and spirituality. Truly a great atmosphere

We've had three students at this school, two there currently, and have been very pleased with their education and all around experience. The teachers are very enthusiastic and knowledgeable in their particular subjects and the leadership is outstanding. I feel my kids are getting a great education at an affordable tuition and are in a healthy, safe environment.

Our family loves this Christian school! It has been an amazing experience to be a part of this school, and I thank the Lord for leading us here. This school has excellent academic activities for students, a wonderful Christian teaching staff, and a terrific sports program. Registering your child at this school is the best decision that you will ever make.

I have one student that graduated from FBCS and one in high school there now. Our family is very involved and can say that FBCS is a great school. My oldest child was accepted to LSU and was prepared for the high academic demand placed upon him there. They have a wonderful staff that are truly concerned about the students spiritually and academically. FBCS has great sports and academic programs.We love FBCS !

This school has a lot to offer students. The administrators and teachers look out for the best interest of the students. This school truly provides a Christian atmosphere for students to learn.

Wonderful school! I have had 4 children pass through FBCS. Three of them received scholarships to college that covered all or part of the tuition, room & board. High academic standards, Christ-centered, lots to offer for the students and parents. Great community! Good sports program. Caring faculty and staff.

My son used to go to this school, but there are major reasons why we have left this school. Some teachers are great, but others are rude and sarcastic. Also things that my son could not do anything about or help were blamed on him and his grades suffered when the office could have helped but did nothing to help the situation. I also don't think they have a sufficient amount of clubs or sports as an option. You pay a tuition yearly to have nothing to offer you except an education. But most time you fall behind because the teachers do not interact a lot with the students and help with what they are struggling with. The rules there are just getting worse for the students making it a great struggle to do good in academics. I would advise future students to look at their other options before they go to this school. My son complained to me about the school so many times I wanted him to be happy at their school so I decided pulled him out.

I challenge all parents to take charge of their child's/chlidren's education at this institution. Take just a few minutes and sit down with him and/or her and ask them if they feel they are getting a good quality education at FBCS. I have talked to many parents no longer affliated and still affilitated with this school and alot of the information given to me is very scary. I am not here to put this school down, as you need to make decisions for you children as you see fit. But, for the tuition cost and what you get out of it does not equal out in my opinion. A challenge: If you have a child in grades 8-12, print out a generalized worksheet online for any of the main subjects, i.e English, Science, Math, etc, but print out one that is two grades below what they are in. If they fail it, and they are making good grades (A, B, or C) in the class they are in now, then something is wrong. Why is it that a lot of these kids who leave FBCS with a diploma in hand have to take remidial courses in college (without credit mind you) before they can start taking the college level courses? Keep your kid here if you like it, but do your child a favor and talk to them. See what they say.

This administration truly has a heart for God and students. They will go the extra mile to do what is pleasing to the Lord. When individual attention is needed, they are there. Pray for them! The devil would love to disrupt what they are teaching these students. Compliment them when it's warranted. Pray for them! Remember, a teacher or administrator can only do so much. Parents have to do their part.

My son is a sophomore at FBCS and is doing excellent. The teachers do a wonderful job of teaching the "whole" child and promoting excellence in each child. My son spent part of this school year at a different school so that he could play football, but we are back at FBCS, where we belonged all along. He is so excited to be back at a school where the students actually look out for each other and enjoy each other. He looks forward to school every morning. This school has blessed our family!!!

As someone having had affiliations as a parent of a student with the FBCS, I can appreciate a good christian education. That is what your child will receive at this institution. However, having seen first hand the students that go to other schools from FBCS with A's and B's in core subjects i.e Math, English, etc and struggle to make it in the public school setting because they do not have the basic fundamentals of these subjects to pass, I do not see how anyone say that things of this nature are just "hiccups". How can we as parents/educators/mentors accept this? Do we not have a responsibility to our children to give them the best education possible wheter it be in public school, private school or home schooling. I am not one to lay blame on any one person and really do not like pointing fingers at anyone as there will always be 3 pointing back at me. If you as a parent feel satisfied with your childs education at FBCS, then thats fine. But as I said in the beginning, having been affiliated with FBCS, what has been going on with this current administration in the past few years is far from Christian. That's not malicious, that's the truth. Parents/students beware.

First Baptist Christian School is a great environment and school! There isn't a school/organization in the world that doesn't have an occassional "hiccup" throughout its existence, however the desire of the school is to raise up Godly young people and prepare them for life. I cannot speak of any of the accusations being mentioned, but it saddens my heart that people are so trying to damage the reputation of the school for malicious reasons. You would be hard pressed to find a better atmosphere for your student, regardless of a few people who may have some issues of discontent. A true Christian spirit does not try to tear down, but rather build up and provide grace when needed, just like Christ provided grace for all of us on the cross. I am a proud of my involvement with this school! God Bless.

I graduated from FBCS 2 yrs ago and I can say that I know the 2 students that had their grades changed so they could graduate. EVERYONE in my graduating class knows who they are because they were bragging about it during lunch. Three weeks before senior exams they were telling all of us how Miss Nelson promised their parents that even if they didnt pass the class they would get their dipolmas and graduate cause grades can be changed. These two girls laughed about how they got the teacher in trouble even though they werent studying and doing the work. I also know that if you are "considered a good christian student" they let alot slide. I was never one that things were let slide. So for the teacher and parent to say these things never occured they are wrong I was there so were all the kids in the gym during lunch we know we heard and at graduation we saw.

First Baptist Christian School is a great school with a warm and caring faculty and staff. Students are taught in a Godly environment and encouraged in all that they do. The expectations for the students are high, but fair and help the students to become the best they possibily can.

I have worked at FBCS for seven years now and I have to say that I think that our administration is top notch. Ms. Nelson has always had the best interest of the students and school in mind when making decisions. She is an awesome woman of God who lifts situations that occur up in prayer. In the seven years I have been on staff I have never witnessed a situation in which favoritism was shown nor an instance in which a questionable decesion has been made. I love this school and CHOOSE to teach there because of the loving and fair environment.

I have had a connection with this school for over twenty years. I have had my children at FBCS and wish they were still there but due to unforseen circumstances we moved. Whilewe were there my youngest son flourished and is now even ahead in his schooling. He grew so much as a christian that when he prays it is so hearfelt that he makes me cry each time because they helped me to continue his growth in the Lord. This school has also helped so many students that they not only have graduated but they come back to be teachers. The ones who have negative to say it is because you CAN NOT buy your way with Ms. Nelson, they do not allow the student body to carry on in vulgar ways nor do they allow them to mistreat one another. I hope that I can one day have my child back at FBCS. The graduating class of this year as always is given pleanty of time to get there photos in, maybe the person who was complaining needs to ask why your child waited so long to get her photos in and I could go as far as to ask the mom "Why were you not following up better" I have one that graduated and I was ready with photos b4 they asked for them. You should be ashamed of how easy you seem to blame others.

This school is not even close to being a Christian school. Mona, the youth pastor, the teachers---ALL OF YA'LL SHOULD BE ASHAMED WHAT YOU DID TO THAT CHILD. This is not over. God knows what ya'll did, and you WILL have to answer to Him. She will never get her senior year back. You robbed her of her accomplishments because she was not a teacher's child. You played pictures of every other graduate from infant to graduation. You had her infant and childhood pictures, but you only play 4 or 5 of her as a senior. Why would you leave her pictures out, but play other ones. You have caused irreversible harm to that child. SHAME ON YOU. HOW DO YOU SLEEP? I cannot wait to see this exposed to the public, as well as the courts.

First Baptist has exceeded our expectations. The administration has made and continues to make improvements to the school. Our daughter has grown in her faith and academics in elementary. First baptist offers a very nurturing and challenging school experience.

I have a Senior and a Freshman, both have attended FBCS sinceFirst Grade. I am pleased with their education, Christian piers, and character training. With all schools, you'll find hiccups along the way. Show me a school that doesn't have or have had some bumps. I'm impressed with the current administration, faculty and staff. I feel both of my children have received a great education and are prepared for college demands. As to the previous post challenging the Christian attitude of those on staff, I feel that to be totally unfounded, and incredibly un-called for. One may disagree with an admistrators decision, but to question their Christian walk is mean spirited and unjustified. Great school, Great people, Great staff! I have two children at FBCS and love it. The teachers are very loving and they are getting a great education. There is a lot required of the students which I think is good. The administration and faculty are constantly engaging the kids in fun learning activities as well as fun events out side of school. As far as being biased and trying to convert the kids, I find that hard to believe. My kids aren't Baptist and have always felt comfortable and loved there. Great school!!!

I had two children in this school. One in junior and the other in elementary. There is much need for improvement. For my child in the elementary school, the teacher was wonderful and communicated constantly. As for my child in the junior high school, the teachers were not as wonderful especially in core subjects of Math, Science, and English. If there were sweeping changes in the teacher quality (many are not educated in the subjects they teach), we would have enjoyed this school although I agree with the previous reviews concerning the favoritism issue and the religion. If you are not religious specifically ,Baptist, this school is not a good fit for you.You might as well homeschool if you choose to continue after I say the 3rd grade.

Horrible! The teachers and principal are gender biased, girls over boys. Very little communication between parents and teachers. If you don't attend that church, they discriminate against the student and try to get them to convert. For a 'supposed' christian environment, they have a tendency to be snide and belittling to students. Will not be back.

My children have been at this school for 3 years and i have found it to be a great enviroment with loving faculty and staff. My kids grades are great and I am very happy with the school.
