When my son first started at this school, I was filled with anxiety. I had heard all the negative stories swirling around. However, I quickly realized how wrong I was! This school has truly exceeded my expectations—the teachers are incredible and genuinely care about their students. If I had the chance to do it all over again, I wouldn’t hesitate for a moment!

The homework is not thoroughly checked, some times it is an excessive amount of homework that is not helping students.

Some teachers are effective, however many are not.

Posted: January 25, 2019

This ties into the fear tactic the administrators are implementing. No respect or compassion. The only real respect is from the PBIS programs to the students who work hard.

The school had many fights in just the past year. The fear tactic the administrators are implementing is not working on any students.

The extent of anti bullying is minimal. The most I have seen are posters scattered around the school saying THINK. Nothing more.

I would rate my experiance at this school a 2/10 being generous. The only good part of the entire school is the music program and the computer lab which is badly invested. The entire place is teaming with ants and cockroaches, disgusting. The building is ok in quality except for the overwhelming population of pests. As a student I am distraught at being in this pitiful excuse of a school. I become infuriated when parents say that the school is amazing because they have no idea what is going on that they don't see.

This is by far the most horrible school my kids have ever attended. The teachers dont care about the students at all. The principal an his assistant princpal dont care either. When u try contacting them, they dont respond.

My daughter is nearing the end of her 8th grade year at STJH and I have nothing but wonderful things to say!! The past 3 years have been filled with great teachers, great principal/staff and great friends. Just like every other school they have students that fight, but they get control of the situation fast and those students are disciplined accordingly. I have chaperoned MANY functions over the past 3 years and never once have I personally seen a fight or anyone being disrespectful. I was actually impressed by these kids especially after hearing all the horrible things about STJH for so many years. The teachers do care and my daughter has been very fortunate to have some amazing teachers guide her and help her stay on track!! Parent involvement is very important with any school and every child. Thanks STJH for a great 3 year!!

This an absolutely terror of a school. I mean horrible. The teachers basically are there for a paycheck. They do not care about the kids at all. There is 0% encouragement all they do is tear them down. They make up reasons to give them suspension or detention because they do not like them...I requested four times to have my child removed from one class to no avail. Even went to the school board. Before this school came into our life my kids had respect for authority now there is none. My 13 year old daughter has had 23 referrals. The principal does nothing to aid in their lives or progression. I am at my wits end. Do not let your kids go to school whatever you do. You will be sorry. I can assure you.

Basically, the teachers are extremely rude (with the exception of few)and the principal is a gigantic jerkface. The end t//_^t

This is my child's first year at STJH, and I must say I have been to open house and meet with all her teachers and I feel as tho my child has some very good teachers this year. I'm very pleased. My child likes the school and at this time I have no problems with the school. Yes, my child has come home and told me of some things that went on that day in school, but she also told me how a teacher or staff member handled it. So as for now I only have good things to say. You know there is no perfect school all schools have problems in one way or another. Just stay involved in your child's education and let the teachers know you care and want to know what's going on in your child's school.

It's a great school. Many people grew up going, as did I. I enrolled my child in his first year, and during so, I took a look at what my old school had become. I must say, it's improved! Sure, it's not the best school, but it's most certainly not the worst. The kids are respectful to adults, but not brainwashed, like the catholic schools. It's a good mix. The best part is that, the teachers are friendly. Everyone knows everyone. It's a great community, and who wants to learn from someone you don't like? The music program is SPECTACULAR, if I may add. In closing, while there are quite a few faults, there are far more pros. If you send your child anywhere, send them here.
