Terrible school. Student body is out of control, many fights happen throughout the year. Lots of bullying and discrimination from students and teachers. The homework and workload is not too bad. Instead of helping students who are facing bullying the school punishes students who speak out or attempt to defend themselves against continuos bullying and abuse. There are few teachers who are supportive and care for students.

Bullying is brushed aside. Students are assaulted, harassed, racial and homophobic slurs thrown out on the daily, and faculty does nothing more than a 3 day suspension at best

I love most of my teachers and they deserve a better work environment. This school system as a whole is disastrous and most students are not successful in their future

Some classes dont assign homework, some assign mass amounts on topics never learned in class

Its 50/50 hit or miss the good teachers are amazing and the bad teachers are horrible. After reaching the 4 year mark a lot of teachers get hot headed and do things against policy

No values, rules, or morals taught to students. Teachers give up on students easily and students have no respect whatsoever

Some teachers try really hard. The English department and some of the history department has some difficult teachers, but it was only difficult because the competence of the other departments is very low.

Everyone seems to respect the special ed program, but the amount of times I have seen people made fun of for their families and habits was just wrong. The kids are very cliquey and encourage bullying and cheating, but the teachers try to discourage this. There were group chats made with test answers sent in them during the tests, in which almost all the students would pull out their phones and copy down the answers.

Students basically have to run their own classes' government and take care of themselves. It is easy to find others to lead at this school, yet many don't care for their education.

I had ADD and anxiety, my guidance counselor was never in to talk to and I did not get any help or exra time on tests, instead I got yelled at by the principal for missing a class that the teacher gave me permission to miss in order to finish a major test for a different teacher. I received an office session and was embarrassed because I was yelled at in front of my class for being slow.

The teachers are great for when you care about your work, but if you don't care neither do they. The school bathrooms were often closed due to the amount of vaping that happened in the bathroom. The school is a mess, but it could be a hell of a lot worse. I met my best friends there and teachers who inspired me to be a teacher myself, your time at this school is very much what you make of it. (Although I could do without the asbestos in the classroom tiles and the ceiling falling in classes, but hey thats why we are building a new school)

Some teachers are unresponsive, not supportive to students and worse yet. Some students are silo in the classroom by their knowledge or lack there of, so you might get to learn or you might not.

If you are looking for your kid to develop a strong character, integrity, compassion and respect then runaway from this school. This school is unsafe for the mental health of your child; however, if you/your family know some of the staff members then your kid will do just fine and survive it.

Principal is unresponsive, doesn't answer phone calls or emails unless there is a legal need. Kids have to role models within the school to look up to and don't feel safe to communicate with the school leadership team. An M Ed or certification doesn't give a teacher leadership and this is well seen in the staff at Saugus High.

This school offers limited to no support to students with learning differences. Parents are forced to seek options on their own because the school does not offer support.

Absolutely not. The school has documentation and policies on bullying that they "SAY" they follow. However, I dare to differ per experience. I won't relay the exact incident, but another student assaulted my daughter where her life was put at risk. We had to bring her to the hospital, and she's now under psychological treatment because she's forced to take classes with the person that bullied / abused her and risked her life. The response from the Assistant Principal because you will not speak to the principal and I quote "We do not treat victim and perpetrator differently". My daughter will forever be scarf thanks to the lack of understanding and support she received from the administration of Saugus High.

This is the WORSE school you could send your child to. I would only speak for my experience as a parent with a child that was bullied, life put at risk in school and worse yet involved in an incident that now has my daughter under psychological treatment. Administration has no remorse for you/your kid's situation, be warned. And don't forget, just because is Public doesn't mean is good or free. You will need to pay for sports, meals, and yes $25 p/yer p/student or you can't signed up for anything. The town and city representative have no interest or investment in the school so is the worse you can find.

The school does as best it can with what it is given. The town does not invest in the school nor it's students, so it is an uphill battle for both teachers and students. Many teachers are extremely helpful and my child has done very well...but until funds are put into the system to upgrade the school and program offerings, I'm sorry to say that Saugus will be at a loss. That said, the faculty is strong and does help those who want to learn.

Saugus High school Is the the worst school you could send your child to. the principal and staff do not care about our children or their education. They are rude,ignorant and do not support or provide help for these kids. they just encourage them to quit! look at the statistics.... If I knew then what i now know I wouldn't send a pet parakeet to learn at saugus high HORRIBLE SCHOOL
