Our family has loved south school. The teachers are passionate and caring, the new principal is energetic and committed to making the school a strong learning environment while also being a great community. All the classroom teachers my kids have had were great!

My brother has been going to this school for about 2 years now and its probably the worst I have ever heard, he faces constantly bullying in his classes and so many issues at school but Ive never even heard atleast ONE disciplinary action taken against any of the students who have gave him trouble. No doubt about it my brother learned a lot from this school but the fact that they allowed him to be in the same class as a kid who bullied him THE YEAR BEFORE is absolute craziness.

Great school. Teachers are caring and attentive. Mrs. Higgins (4th grade) is the best.

Meh. I wish there were more attention to modernizing the teaching methods at this school, and teaching to something other than the lowest common denominator.

Math homework for my third-grader is repetitive drills, instead of presenting challenge. English homework is also underwhelming. The teacher doesn't seem to expend much effort at all on differentiation or engaging kids who aren't at the lowest level. Also, the teacher's homework seems to be based on her individual choices, not standardized for the school.

Our teacher takes a one-size-fits-all approach devoid of challenge.

I don't know much about the principal, though she seems nice. Things don't seem to be very standardized. Math instruction is subpar across the board.

Disabled children may be well supported (on that I have no opinion), but there is zero attempt to find children who are past the current material or otherwise need something different in the regular classroom.

I gave a poor review to this school last year which I am now retracting. Principal (Mrs. Bird) is fantastic and cares very much about the students. She even greets them all outside almost every morning. Great school with a very caring staff.

I do NOT understand why the aide that is stationed in the office is allowed to gossip about the students and their families!! There have been too many times when I have signed in to help out in my daughters classroom and have heard Mrs. Davis talking about personal business with the secretary. Where is the privacy policy??? I am counting the days until my child's time at this school is over. VERY disappointed in the staff of this school.
