math teacher discouraged and shattered confidence of my child when attending this school. well today he got 5 on AP calc. i can never forget the trauma this school caused. things got better after we changed this school. they should train teachers on SEL and how to talk to teens.

My daughter really likes the school and all teachers. We were excited to see that her recent MCAS test results came with "exceeding expectations" score in ELA, math and science.

SO MUCH BULLYING! THE PRINCIPAL IS DOING NOTHING, EVEN WITH CLEAR EVIDENCE! MY CHILD SHOULD FEEL SAFE AND BE ABLE TO LEARN SAFELY IN THIS SCHOOL. TERRIBLE!!

My child got bullied by the teachers. The teachers kept calling my child a worthless human and never offered help. The school itself never did anything either.

A disgrace. I am not upset by my childs education or social standing at this school, my child is doing great. Many parents and I see how difficult it has become to just simply pick up or drop off our children. The clueless people that they have chosen to directed traffic, simply put are useless. It takes me 40 min to pickup my child. And it has nothing to do with safety, no its all about the lack of a proper entrance and exit from this school.
Now lets talk about the poor kids that are trapped in this 8:00am-3:00 pm prison. If they even remotely says anything that its deemed inappropriate, an investigation will be conducted by the vice principal, you will get phone calls and emails many times over and over that you need to come in and how concern they are ??? They act as though they have never heard a bad word in their life:)
Simply put a JOKE.

We have had two children go to school here. Both had "OK" experiences. To be fair, middle school is a notoriously difficult time developmentally. That being said, Diamond seems too big, too unwieldy to give many of its' students the attention they deserve. With a few exceptions, teachers do not seem especially passionate about their craft. Sports teams can be large and overrun (if your child manages to make the cut). The band was so large that students were almost spilling off the stage. Lexington is a highly educated community, and people move here for the public schools. Diamond can, and should, do better.

We have one kid we moved over from private school who has thrived and another just getting moved over.
Not every teacher is great, some are meh, but overall the school benefits from 3 things; 1.) strong leadership, 2.) strong cohort of motivated kids with involved parents, and 3.) plenty of resources.
For middle school it is about as good as it gets.

Something is wrong at Diamond. The teachers are distant and administration more political than serving. I have seen staff engage in hysteria, when there was no need, to the detriment of the students.

Diamond is an awesome place. :) Because I was a student there. No matter how scary I thought my teachers to be at first, I always enjoyed it every year. The clubs there are fun too, with a diverse choice! And I'm glad I went, because I made great friends, and I wouldn't have met them without Diamond to push us together. I disagree, the teachers there are very nice. I went in for lunch a bunch of times to get explained how things work, and they took time to explain to each person. And it's been great, those three years. (Oh yes, and it depends which teachers you have for how much homework you get. But looking back, that wasn't a lot of homework at all.) Tests? I didn't see THAT many tests. After all, students know best. Overall, this was a great school.
