Tenderheart Child Care Center

Tenderheart Early Learning Center is a wonderful center. Their accreditation by the Maryland State Department of Education shows the difference in this center the second you walk in. The classrooms and teachers are amazing. I was a parent during the below comment situation. I will say there are three sides to every story . Tenderheart is a wonderful center. Anyone should randomly stop by for a tour to see for themselves.

My son went to Tenderheart from the time he was 1.5 years old. Up until this year (he's turning 5) I didn't have many major issues with the school. He seemed to learn and was happy. Until it was time to go to pre-k. Something told me that the main teacher was going to be a problem. She is a little rough around the edges, but he had been with the same kids for so long and it's a hassle to move him - so we thought we would try it out. Well we didn't get far into the school year and she was accusing me of being a drug addict to my mother when she was picking him up one day. I have a medical condition which sometimes requires me to either sit quickly or pass out. When I tried to explain to the teacher/owner that she should not be talking to my mother or anyone else about these matters and only speak with me - she became belligerent and irate and ultimately kicked my son out of the school. As someone going through an enormous amount of stress - her poor attitude was one less thing I or my child needed to be around. I'm not missing much in this pre-k anyway. Several parents have told me they don't feel their kids are on par for kindergarten. Another parent whose kid had been there for years with my son said she pulled her child before pre-k started because she didnt like the teacher either. Now I'm saving money and he's learning well in another school. This is a DAYCARE not a SCHOOL.

I think its really sad when a facility that is suppose to guide kids and teach them, would rather kick them out. I work with families and would never recommend this facility. Its a shame because from all outward appearances its a fine facility. Sadly they must have lost sight of what really matters. Molding our children.

Both my daughter's went to Tenderheart,my oldest daughter went 2 years in a row and my youngest one year.My oldest daughter is still upset about attending this dsy care center,I was lend to believe she had behavior problems when really it was the center being to strict with children of this age.She has been in public school for 3 years now and after a long learning road of playing catch up on things she didn't absorb and learn at this day care.Her Kindergarten was very surprised she attend a daycare with such high claims and learned so little.Instead of being so stern with my daughter she should have been giving my learning focus.Now since public schools and Great teacher's she is doing well and has received a Dolphin Character award Every school year from Kindergarten through third grade but it was alot of work for her to catch up with her learning skills she was not receiving when attending Tenderheart.This daycare focuses more on behavior than anything else.
