Classroom management is non existent in most classes; students will go on other websites instead of their lessons and most children are disrespectful. There is a hudge drug problem, same kids get caught with weed and they just send them to Choices where they get to hang out with their friends and the choices teacher rewards them with snacks. Bullying is another issue, kids that get constantly harrased don't feel safe and hate the school and the bullies never get major consequences. Children will cuss out and threaten teachers on multiple offenses with no major consequences and students who have made threats of violence are still in the school. Administration is lass on out of school suspensions or expulsion because they do not want to take a hot and make their school look bad. Administration is a joke and does not protect the students or their staff. Most teachers are good though and support their students well and yet their best to engage their students in learning and most of them do well with communication to parents. This school definitely needs a sweep when it comes to Administration and councilors. The only administrator who was good was Mrs. Langley who left the end of the 2023 school year. You will often see the well behaved students working in the hall due to too many distractions in the classroom.

Great school that has an amazing band program! Lots of diversity. Like all middle schools, you have the typical social growing pains between kids.

This school has a lot of areas to improve in. Intervention from staff with an MTSS academically only after repeated attempts to address via email and at a 504 plan meeting but not explained to parents that the academic help would not come from the 504 but from an MTSS plan or something else. Teachers not showing up to MTSS or 504 plan meetings follow ups. MTSS academic help stopped without a review with parents and a move forward plan to continue help for the student who was at the time failing in the subject of question. School counselor not addressing 504 plan meeting request but rather asked the parent to write out what was needed for the 504 plan and they would put it in a plan. Teachers talking badly to students about other students. Parent addressed it with Assistant Principal but kept happening even after the student told the Assistant Principal also and received no follow up with student or with parents after that. it does not surprise me that Great Schools rates them at a 4. I would not even give them a 4.
