This school, especially the teacher changed my children's veiw of school. It was a safe place to learn not a place to dredd.

Mrs Cobb, Mrs Bell and Mr Paulette really get involved with us. They have to make tough choices but they are fair and they show us they really care.

Awful, awful, awful. My children were so stressed while attending this school, they had anxiety every day to the point of feeling physically sick and depressed. They kept what they were experiencing to themselves for a couple of months, because they didn't want me to worry about them. At doctor's appointments they expressed thoughts of self harm and suicide at the thought of continuing school here. Withdrew both children without a second thought. Beware for your's child's mental health in this school's environment.

Horrible. Teachers have no control over classrooms. Students allowed to yell, exhibit rude behavior over the teachers trying to instruct. During class changes, students yelling and cursing thru hallways and using offensive hand gestures, teachers standing outside classrooms just observing, doing nothing to control language or student's behavior. My child's teacher actually told students to "shut the hel* up" more days than not.

If the principal had these traits, maybe, but she doesn't, so I lost complete faith in this school to do the right things by their students.

The front office staff are wonderful and seem to have great relationships with the kids. But as for the principal - Angela Cobb, definitely not. She lies about policy and will lie to your face. If your child is an AP student or is on athletic teams they will have an easier time at this school.

Horrible. Former principal pain along with the music teacher former principal pain along with the music teacher allowed my son to be bullied and harassed and former principal Payne was well known for harassing and bullying students. When reported to the BOE, they did nothing about it.

This school in my opinion has to be one of the greatest schools in the county. North eastern high school is by far an amazing school. wouldn't want to be at any other school.

I was concerned since we were moving to Elizabeth City from a much larger & newer high school in VA. My children have attended NE for a few years now & I have been nothing but pleasantly suprised. It is obviously an older school. It doesn't have all the bells & whistles that a new school can offer but the quality of the school depends on the staff much more than the building itself. This is where Northeastern excels. The staff is wonderful & the new principal is VERY hands-on. The teachers actually know most of the children by name and can tell you how they are doing in other classes & what activities they are involved in. I can't tell you how many times I've ran into teachers in town who have stopped to talk to me or my children. The athletics are also top-notch. The football team has been to the state play-offs and produced many players who have went on to Division I colleges, the cheerleading squad to nationals, and a number of the other teams like the swim team, girls volleyball/basketball, etc are equally impressive. NE also has the highest graduation rate in the region. On a side-note, my kids are biracial and I am thrilled with how well the school is integrated.
