Do you live in Onslow County, NC or a surrounding county and looking for a great Christian school for your kids?

I cannot recommend JCA enough!! My son graduated 2 yrs ago and my oldest daughter graduates this year from there!

The impact the teachers and staff have had on my kids has been an eternal one! My kids coming to know Jesus as there Lord and Savior was influenced by these awesome and amazing individuals! Also, the education they have received (which is based in biblical truths, true history, and reality) has set them up to carry on the calling God has for them!

God is doing amazing things there!!

As a grandparent, it means the world to see your grandchild in a place where they are not only receiving a quality education but are also genuinely loved and cared for. I’ve been so impressed with the teachers and staff and the way they pour into my grandchild every day. You can see the growth academically, but also in their confidence, character, and attitude. They come home excited about what they’re learning, and that says a lot. The school does a great job creating a safe, structured environment while still making learning engaging and meaningful.
I’m incredibly grateful my grandchild is a part of this school community. It gives our family real peace of mind knowing they’re in such good hands.

School has changed my life. From the students to the staff, I as a teacher have grown and thrived in this environment. No, we are not perfect, but teachers love the Lord and their students with all that they have.

Posted: February 9, 2026

I have worked here for sixteen years, and while we aren’t perfect, I fully believe every teacher wants to make a positive impact on each student AND their family. As a whole, we desire to work as a team to promote the growth and well being of each student academically and spiritually.

This school does not follow proper protocols for safety with security and classroom communication unless a teacher has a personal cell phone. The mandatory state tests are only given to specific kids their chosen kids don’t have to take them. Teachers are replaced based on the don’t speak up against how they want to run the school verses how the curriculum states. This is far from a Christ like place

This school has many problems. Our children attended this school for years, and the elementary part wasn't "too" bad. I did have to address things with the teachers every year; from bullying to the teacher's inattentiveness. The class size is just as bad as the public schools. One teacher to 28 students and no teacher's aid.

Middle school was and is now a worse dumpster fire than it has ever been. There was a teacher there who bullied all the boys, while the girls could do no wrong. It was bizarre to witness. She was there for years! I heard of other parents complaining, but nothing was ever done. (I complained as well) They go through "teachers" like tissue paper. There's a new teacher every other week.

The bullying is never addressed or dealt with; especially when it's a kid who's parent works and goes to church there. Everything is just swept under the rug.

High school is a joke! I heard of a kid who never even opened his books!

If your kid gets bullied, just know that the teachers and principal will blame your kid and shame them in front of the class for being "too sensitive". Bullying is bullying when your kids are scared to go to school in the morning for fear of being touched inappropriately or whispered something so that other's won't hear that is so wildly inappropriate it makes you question whether you are in a christian school!

There is also a competition that used to be voluntary as it involves paying money to participate as well as overnight for 3 days in another city. It's now required and you have to pay for each event, the hotel room, and food for your child. If your child chooses not to participate (for whatever reason), they will be punished by writing papers at school for those days of the competition.

We thought our kids would be getting a good education at this school, but they really haven't learned anything useful for life. We regret sending them to a "Christian" School as the people there are nothing like Christians.

A fantastic school with fantastic administration, teachers, faculty, and students!

Posted: February 7, 2019

Students are read to from a book versus actually being taught. Homework has been overwhelming for our student. This is mostly due to us having to teach the material at home.

Posted: February 7, 2019

Our experience with our student's teacher has been disappointing. The teacher definitely has favorites and has a very visible attitude when approached by parents.

Posted: February 7, 2019

Our student frequently asks why the teacher us jean and mumbles mean things. This is a Christian school and staff members should be modeling desirable characteristics.

Posted: February 7, 2019

The principal will always side with the teacher. This is clear even when undeniable evidence is presented. There is no follow up to correct the inappropriate actions of staff.

Posted: February 7, 2019

There are no resources for children with special needs. Parents are told to seek community resources.

Posted: February 7, 2019

Sadly, the teacher has been the biggest bully.

Posted: February 7, 2019

Quite poor. I had high hopes for this school.

Posted: December 13, 2018

I would not recommend going to this school. Please check all of the reviews and teacher credentials before you consider JCA.

Posted: December 13, 2018

Students are not taught during the instructional day. When our student came home I would end up retracting everything the teacher supposedly covered during class.

Posted: December 13, 2018

The teacher nor the principal could explain the purpose of several of the assignments in class. The teacher only knows one way to do something , and there is no room for learners who might need reinforcement or other strategies.

Posted: December 13, 2018

We found that the school shows favoritism. Bullying starts from the top down - ours started with the teacher, and students in the class.

Posted: December 13, 2018

The principal supports the teacher even when it is obvious the teacher was at fault. While sometimes it is appropriate, when a teacher bullies a student and there is evidence to back it up, the principal should reevaluate the situation.

Posted: December 13, 2018

Absolutely not!!! All students are expected to learn exactly the same way and their way is the only way!

Posted: December 13, 2018

Again, the bullying in the situation we had started with the teacher! The students also bullied the others.

I can't just write enough of how amazing and a blessing the school had being for our family. If you are looking for a great, family, one on one ratio kids and teacher. You should considered Jacksonville Christian Academic! As like any other parent that come to Jacksonville. We move to North Carolina 2 years ago. My Husband is in the military and I was worried which school my 3 kids was going to attend. after having my child in Carolina Forest elementary for 2 years we decided to withdrawal the kids and have them in JCA. It was the best desicion we had made. The director Mrs. Sinkhorn is the best. She really care about all the kids and she has the biggest heart! The teachers are amazing. they will stay after school to work with your child and genuinely they do care about your kids. The administration staff miss Griselda she is excelent too. I promise you, you will not find anywhere in Jacksonville what JCA can offered you. Small groups of class, great administration, best director, best teacher, your child always come out happy after school. (And I have 3) and many more. I'm a SUPER proud parent. Thank you JCA! Carla.
