This school does not love like Christian's should love. The administration kicks families out when they want to and they do not care about the families. They are more worried about the rules they make (not God's) and looking perfect on the outside. The Pastor is the president of a Baptist college, and most of the teachers come from that college and they also push the students to go to the college. They are going downhill and this is a school I would avoid until the admin is changed.

This school was once a strong advocate for partnering with parents. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case since recent changes to their administration. I have seen an increase in security but with that has come a move away from family involvement. When once administration and parents would work together for the child's betterment, now administration is not open to constructive criticism and all fault is placed on the child and parents. I've seen a significant increase in anxiety and kids no longer enjoying the learning process. Teachers have always been and still are wonderful. Such a shame.

This school does have some wonderful teachers but the administration is the main problem. You cannot question or raise concern about anything or they will dismiss you. I have never been spoken to by anyone the way the principal spoke to my family. The school does not allow parent involvement any more. You may not attend field trips, class holiday parties or take part in much of their learning. Most all staff attended the same Bible college and are required to attend that church. The teachers are required to sign a contract not to drink alcohol or participate in certain activities. It’s a very controlling environment. Kids may not talk in halls, get 10 minutes to talk at snack and lunch and that is it. Kids get suspended and expelled often. I believe over 10% of my child’s class was suspended or expelled 2 months into the year. Tattling on students is encouraged and it’s a whose next mentality. My child was told you would go to hell if you didn’t tattle and that’s what the children talk about. While our children learned a lot, they did not enjoy learning and were drained with 7-8 tests a week in elementary school. Recess was taken often to complete seatwork if they needed any tutoring. Recess is also taken for children needing to use the restroom during lunch. Some of my child’s classmates had accidents at over 10 years old for trying to hold it so they wouldn’t lose recess. High pressure and controlling environment. Meetings with teachers denied. We know many families who plan to leave for these reasons. I don’t usually post reviews but I hope this helps another family.

Thank you doesn’t seem enough for the staff at hilltop. My grandson has accelerated academically since being in your school. I attended graduation last night and was amazed at how well all the students did well behaved good manners and so happy about their achievements from kindergarten thank you so much.

The staff is able to accomplish all these things while simultaneously staying FUN and still allowing kids being kids. It’s almost a lost art in education today to find that steady balance. In a world full of extremes, HCS toes that balance that we all need in society so that we are building well rounded individuals.

Our family had looked all around the Triangle for schools and toured various institutions in Raleigh, Cary, Apex, & Holly Springs and this is where we decided to send our children and we could not be happier with all of their results. We know the minute we drop our kids off to their institution that real teaching is happening and both of our children will be prepared for college when their time comes. Students are typically 1-2 years ahead of public education curriculum.

This is the best kept secret in the Triangle!!!!

The teachers make every effort to help all children. I would not recommend HCS for a very serious disability because there are not dedicated classes or trained staff for this, but for milder cases of autism or Attention disorders, the teachers are helpful.

As with any school, the teachers or staff must know about the situation, but any bullying situations are dealt with immediately upon discovery.

The leadership is very involved in the school and personally invested in the school. Several people on staff have kids in the school, so they are very interested in seeing the school succeed.

I have been around Hilltop for several years and attended the school the majority of my life. I was better prepared for college than almost everyone else starting college with me. Now, several years later, I will soon be putting my own child in HCS and I am looking forward to seeing their growth as an individual.

Hilltop Christian offers a very structured learning program and the teachers genuinely care about their students.

If you are looking for a school that will teach your kids that women should stay in the kitchen while wearing there skirts and obeying their husbands this is the place for you. This school/church is the definition of old school baptist. The girls have to wear knee length skirts and shirts that cover everything up to the neck. During the time I went here I felt like I was drowning. My bible teacher told my class at least three times a week that our class was going to hell. If you did not go to their church you were considered an outsider and that your church was not good enough. So if you are looking for a school for your child that has these values hilltop is right for you.

As long as HCS is aware of bullying, they do deal with it.

Smaller class sizes does help teachers to have more time to help students. HCS may not be the school for severe learning disabilities. HCS does not have a separate class for learning disabilities.

Not everyone who attends Hilltop will be a Christian, but it is a godly environment and students will be taught how to live for Christ through teacher testimonies, Chapel, and bible class.

Teachers will take the time to help any student struggling. Communication is great, and it's easy to connect with a teacher at any point through email.

I've heard parents complain about the homework,. but my child has graduated from HCS and I can honestly say that the homework was NEVER outlandishly crazy. No summer homework, and no homework on Wednesday to encourage church attendance. I've lived through K5-12th grade and homework has never been a nightmare.

My daughter has attended Hilltop Christian School since Kindergarten and graduated last year from Hilltop. Now that she is in college, she feels as though she's been well prepared throughout her years at HCS.
It's a sacrifice her dad and I made to send her and her sibling to HCS, and we are glad we have done that. Students receive a well rounded education using ABEKA and Bob Jones materials.
We highly recommend HCS!

I highly recomend HCS. I am a senior at Hilltop and have attended HCS since kindergarten. All three of my siblings have attended hilltop since k5. I could not imagine going to school anywhere else. Hilltop has the best environment around. There is something so unique about Hilltop, It truly is "home". All the teachers SINCERELY care not just that you succeed academically, but spiritually. They pray for you and are there to help whenever help is needed. At HCS we say The Pledge of Alegiance, and it is emphisized that we start each day thanking God for all he has done for us and lifting up the needs of others in prayer. I have realized this year, being my senior year, that HCS truly has a great cirriculum. I took both the ACT and SAT this year and I was well prepared. Extra- Cirricular events are always fun here. The student body is supportive of our athletics and always show up to cheer the chargers on. The ladies in the office have such sweet giving heart and are always willing to help you. At hilltop, students are trained to be leaders in being followers of Christ. I believe what makes Hilltop such a wonderful place is the people who make it up. Each teacher feels that it is God's will for them to be there and that is very comforting, because the safest happiest, and most peaceful place is in the middle of God's will. Mr. Moots works hard, and is a great role model for the future of our school. As I am about to graduate, I can honestly say HCS over the past 13 years has directed me in the way of the Lord but it was my own personal decision to take this route. Nothing is shoved down your throat, but encouraged in a loving way. Hilltop is without a doubt a huge blessing in my life. I am so thankful for how Hilltop has prepared me for life and reaching the world for Christ.

My child has attended this school since Kindergarten. First, I have to say that I am impressed with the curriculum. But as 1 other reviewer has stated, if you do not attend Hilltop Church, you are somewhat of an outsider. That feeling is felt not only by my child, but I also feel that way during school functions from other (not all) parents. It is not the accepting and loving Christian environment that it should be. Sometimes you can feel a bit snubbed by the parents who attend this particular church together on a regular basis. I have never felt this way at any other church, ever, which is why it strikes me as odd. None-the-less, there is not much out there for private Christian schools to choose from and academically, this one does a fine job. So, it is just one of those things you have to put up with if you do not want your child in public school. Keep in mind, this is my opinion, with my experiences from the last four years.

This school provides a well-rounded, academically challenged, Christ-centered program. My child just started first grade there this Fall, and it is has been a comfort to take him to school every morning, knowing that he is both challenged and nurtured each and every day. The staff is organized, structured, yet consistently warm, caring, and FAIR. Most importantly, the focus of the school, as well as the church, is on the Bible. Our son has learned more about the Bible in six months than I ever dreamed possible! I am more than pleased with Hilltop Christian School and look forward to our next son starting soon!

Tremendous school. My oldest has attended since K-5 and my second child will start this year. The administration and the teachers are wonderful and the atmosphere is great. The academics are tremendous and all the teachers are college grads. I love the fact that the student body is made up of kids from all over the area and representing many different churches. They truly love our kids and go out of the way to make each child feel special. Thanks

My granddaughter attends HCS and she loves it! She is excited about going to school every morning and cannot wait to get there to see her teacher and friends. She is now in first grade and is being taught things that I did not learn until third grade and she is grasping them! We all feel so blessed that she is able to attend HCS. None of us worry about the things she is being exposed to durng the day or her safety as we know she is in a warm, loving, calm and nurturing environment of kindred spirits. I can't say enough about the leadership and staff at this school. Only the best of the best. I get teary eyed and full of joy whenever I attend school functions on this campus. You can feel the presence of the Lord and His hand is on this ministry. (Grandmother)

While most of the reviews are great. I would have to mention that not only my child, but others that don't attend Hilltop Church have a hard time assimilating into this school. There is the "Hilltop Church Group" and the "Others". I'm not so sure about the younger kids, but definitely for the older middle school and high school grades. This is a shame in a Christian Atmosphere. This is not only true among the students, but for the teachers who have favored the Hilltop church attendees as well. I 'm not convinced the education received is as great as they claim. Last year there was not one lab done in a chemistry class. I hope this is read and perhaps some positive things can come from some constructive criticism.

Praise God for HCS - this school has been wonderful! All the teachers and staff truly care about the students & want to teach. My daughter has attended since K5 and is in 3rd grade now. Every one of her teachers have been exceptional. This school has been a blessing to our family.
