The current administration has instituted policies which, in effect, hinder the students' education. This institution has become a tool for exercising authority and stoking egos. Parents and Base Affiliates have no input, the Principle clearly abuses authority. Sadly, this school is nothing more than a stopping point in a military families many moves… and then, on to the next place. Many students will tell you that the student population, overall all, is miserable to be here at LHS. Let me not fail to mention that the ‘academic advisors’ rarely do any ‘advising’ and more so, just place you in classes to fill spots snd hope you won’t notice, complete undermining request and NEEDS. Cheating, vaping, and weapons are RAMPANT!

Only a handful of teachers are genuine and passionate - others - especially some of the new staff this year - are awful. Some teachers have poor time management when it comes to pacing their lesson plans; students will often times have to teach themselves the lesson material on their own time in order to pass the class. Other teachers simply do not teach; they just hand out projects and assignments that go over concepts that students have already mastered in middle school. Many teachers do not effectively prepare students for higher education. Administration can be unreasonable at times. Staff is more concerned about clothing than learning, and will harass students until they change. The selection of extracurricular activities, sports, and AP/regular classes offered are limited.

Many teachers are more concerned about trivial issues such as dress code and other unimportant policies rather than the students' education.

Administration does not seem to care about the students/parents opinions regarding changes to the school. Many privileges and policies have been revoked and/or changed abruptly without any input from students or parents. Students rarely have a chance to voice their opinions regarding these policy changes.

Teachers are more concerned with what the students are wearing than making sure if they are learning. They made a change to the dress code this year they require uniforms. They will harras the student if the polo shirt is not the correct shade of blue. Staff is more concerned with themselves than the students.

Too many busy projects for example posters, one month my daughter had five different posters to turn in would be better to give them projects that would help them learn not just cut and paste pictures. In addition, Teachers don't utilize technology to help their students succeed. For example, we came from a school that video taped their math lessons, so students can go over material if they were having trouble. Math is a subject that you learn by example, so videotaping Lessons would allow the students to master all concepts. Teachers are more concerned with what the kids are wearing since they changed the dress code to uniforms this year.

Staff is not looking out to what is best for the student. They are more worried about having enough students, so they can keep their job. You constantly have to make sure your child gets the courses they need or want, if not they'll place them in what ever class they want. They offer virtual classes when they don't have room for a student in a certain class which is most of the time, but when the student needs help with their virtual class no one can help them with the online work. One student was offered Virtual PE since they did not have enough room in the school's PE class. The choices of classes they offer are very limited. Don't expect anything special, there is only one page of classes to choose from for each grade. They also make it difficult to do dual enrollment with the local community college. Counselors should be promoting this benefit to earn college credits, AP classes only do so much and some classes taken don't give the students college credits. Instead of promoting dual enrollment they don't offer you information about dual enrollment or say if we offer the AP class here you can't take the class at the community college.
