I have two children at Middle Creek. We have been there for three years now, even having to work through the challenges of Covid and remote learning. All of our children's teachers have been fantastic. Mrs. Winkler, Mrs. Rogers, Mrs. Lewis, Mrs. Hoover, Mrs. Yoder, and many of the "specials" teachers have all been wonderful. Our children have flourished, love going to school, have made a lot of friends, have become vigorous readers, and are doing well in all of their subjects. The only critique we have is that they could be better at challenging students that are perhaps already familiar with some of the base lessons. Especially returning to in-person learning after Covid, 1st grade was a repeat of many of the things that were learned in Kindergarten... 2nd grade was a repeat of things that were learned in 1st grade, etc. It is a shame that AIG is not offered until 3rd grade (I started "gifted" in 1st grade, for example), but that appears to be an odd Wake County policy instead of something that is specific to Middle Creek.

The administration has weakened the school by not being consistent with discipline, and not making sure major things are being taken care of by focusing on things that are less important.

Most of the teachers at this school show little, next to know emotional intelligence towards kids struggling academically and socially. My child has gone to this school since Kindergarten, therefore I'm speaking from my experience. These particular teachers act out as children do, and don't resolve issues with the children because they are acting like children. Oh and they will blame you if show any type of disagreement with them. Horrible.

My son was in this school for 3 years ,but now he is in Swift creek Elementary school .We had to change his school as my elder son was going to high school which follows traditional calendar ,so I had to get my younger one in a school that follows traditional calendar too.Now that my son is not in this school I can write the most honest review without any vested interest. My son comes in autism spectrum ,some say high functioning as he struggles with his communication skills but nevertheless loves to communicate .We loved this school ,the teachers and the staff. We were very fortunate to have some of the best teachers right from 2 nd grade -Ms.Duhamel,3rd grade -Mrs.Gutierrez,4 th grade-Ms.Sedler,5 th grade-Ms.Hammond,and the list goes on with his CCR teachers,Ms.Lockard,Ms.Saunders,Ms.Lopes,Ms.Bush ,Ms.Ring ,and Ofcourse our very dear Case manager,Ms.Flook!! The wonderful teachers and staff members are an asset to MCES.

My daughter loves this school. She's in Miss Morgans class for elementary school and is having a blast. Miss Morgan is very attentive to detail spends a lot of time with the children and treats each one equally. We are enjoying our first year at this school. the principal is very good. Very focused on academic and student growth. Melissa

I am feeling frustrated! We just began kindergarten in August and have seen a consistent disconnect in communication since the first day. I have emailed the teacher, sent notes and still no response. This school will send home newsletters via email and paper form referring to websites or special dates to pay attention to, but lack the tools to get there. For example the daddy and daughter dance. It has no link on either the school website or kindergarten website. Nothing was sent home in our folder either. Over all very disappointed in the school and teacher communication / involvement they brag about.

We are so thankful to Middle Creek Elementary, Ms. Parrish, the teachers and staff! Ms. Parrish's enthusiasm and warmth create a loving and supportive environment that has helped our children thrive. With the exception of one substitute, we have had overwhelmingly positive experiences with all employees at MCES! We have a 5th grader who has been here since 2nd grade and is in AIG and a Kindergartner who is being evaluated for an IEP. The school has been very supportive of both of our children, despite the fact that they are very different students, and has provided resources to help them both be happy and successful! MCES also has a great PTA and the parents provide extra resources for the classrooms. We have been at several schools, including private, and this is the best place for our children. We love the school so much that we chose to stay and provide transportation after we moved across town. We can't say enough good things about MCES!

Absolutely excellent school. The teachers are wise and caring, and extend themselves beyond expectation to make sure all students are nurtured and made to feel successful. The focus is on the child--not on the test score, a refreshing change from another school we had unfortunate experiences with. The administration is the best I have ever seen. The principal is a gifted manager, surrounding herself with competent and talented staff-- and she lets them shine. I feel so lucky to have found such a marvelous school.

Awesome school, having my child enrolled this year. Teachers are professional yet have special relationship with parents and students. This reay helps the students with their learning and comforts the parents, I know my child will be jus fine.

This is a great school related to parent involvement. While I am not too impressed by my daughter's teacher in Track 2, the activities for the kids are great! The principal; Ms Parrish is a wonderful presence and clearly has great goals for the school. This year there was the Annual Art Expressions contest, which was a wonderful opportunity for the students, and the 2nd Scripps Spelling B at the school. They had a father daughter dance, which was a lovely time for the students. The list goes on and on. I think that over time this school will get better and better.
