Attending this school caused irreparable damage to my mental health. Thankfully I graduated last June despite failing nearly all my classes. Teachers and Staff are generally unconcerned with the mental health/wellbeing of students. I had such a hard time my senior year and tried to reach out for help but I felt like I was not taken seriously. There are a few teachers in this school that are absolutely wonderful and determined to teach students in a way they understand and enjoy, but in general the teachers really seemed to just hate their jobs and students. Bullying and harassment is largely ignored and enabled by staff. Most of the time students will get a slap on the wrist for sexual harassment, which I faced more than once at this school. I would not recommend sending your children here. The environment is disgusting, the school doesn't even have ceilings. There are roaches, black mold, and rats. Most of the school funds go towards renovating the gym rather than repairing the school. The auditorium has the same seats from when the room was built and the sound systems are broken. I am very glad to be graduated but it took everything in me to keep going. Please choose a different school.

I cannot say enough great things about this school and it’s teachers and staff. All my kids were challenged and truly benefited from it’s rigorous/advanced academics, sports teams and clubs! Keep up the good work West and continue to hold your standards high! Thank you!

If a teacher doesn't like you then, they will constantly put you on their radar to find any and every misstep you may make.

a teacher called my son stupid last year and if you are not "liked" by staff then rules are strongly enforced, but if you are "liked" by staff they look the other way and let those students get away with things others are punished for

This school teaches students ,if you don't fit into a certain mold then you aren't worth any effort to put into. If conform to what they deem acceptable then you are elite and can accomplish things in life. This is not a cookie cutter world we live in and these kids should be taught to embrace their differences

I cannot wait for my son to get out of there. I wish we could transfer him somewhere else

Terrible. There are roaches in the halls and rats in the kitchens. The school is old and moldy. It is a terrible place to go. In addition, there was asbestos found in the tile and much hasn't been taken care of. I'm sure the school will enjoy getting my lawsuit if I ever get cancer from this.

Some teachers are amazing. There are a lot of talented educators. There are also teachers who are anywhere from dismissive to rude to certain students.

The administration has given up. There is one vice principal who enforces the phone policy. No one else gives any mind to enforcing rules, especially not the dress code.

Several of the teachers engage in bullying their students. I could name several who are rude to certain students based on their political beliefs.

They push the children in classes they shouldn't even be in. I don't believe they are an A+ school without fudging the numbers. They don't prepare them enough for the future

They do not prepare these kids for the future. They just want to graduate them regardless... the principal just wants to look good no matter the cost to the students
