BULLYING is a major problem at this school. The kids are unruly, the teachers can't control them. Though I blame the parents for lack of discipline. But the school does not handle the problem making kids. You have an assistant principal who cares more about MINOR dress code violations more than she is concerned about the students education. Warning if you have a daughter (who have a curvy shape) she will be this assistant principals main target especially if they enter thru the front door. As long as they enter via the bus they should be fine. Crazy how that works right?
This school is the poorest of the poor, it lacks, proper funding.. and these kids are left by the way side. MILITARY FAMILIES do NOT let your child go to this school. You are better off seeing if they can attend Albritton on post.
If they ever can get these kids to settle down and focus on their education, and the staff worry about education more than a dress code.. things may be alright. You have some teachers that are like bullies themselves one of the female teachers in particular left during the pandemic. But she kept drama going between the female students, and was a bully herself. I hate I even let my child come to this school it impacted their life in such a negative way that they needed therapy for it. If your child doesn't have "thick skin" do NOT send them to this school.
If you ever seen that movie 'Dangerous Minds' staring Michelle Phifer this is the same situation. Just no good outcome like there was in the movie.

This school is by far the worst school district Ive ever dealt with. We are a military family who transitioned to North Carolina from Saint Louis during the pandemic. As a result of misinformation and lack of guidance my 8th grader will be retained to the 8th grade for the 2021-2022 school year. Every resource ive reached out to has been a fail. The principals and other staff have left us high and dry stating they dont have any information or resources to help the situation. Im very frustrated and considering relocating my child back to saint louis. Horrible school district!!

Over the past few years, this school has gone downhill. The students that go to this school don't care about their education and cause trouble at the school. Something needs to be done about that. Out of control. The teachers try but it doesn't help. These kids are disrespectful and have no discipline. It's not all the kids but a large majority.

Spring lake middle needs to improve in all areas. I wish there was another school my child could go to .

I current attend Spring Lake Middle School, and I believe it is the best middle school in the district, but is a victim of stereotypes based on the schools past. We haven't had a fight in years, as well as sexual and drug related problems. The schools standards are set very high, ans students as actually reaching them! And finally, the community is taking notice. Each school year, we have about 3-4 new school buses because more students are letting go of the stereotypes and joining our Spring Lake Middle School family. We have students from Spring Lake, Fayetteville, Fort Bragg, and even Hope Mills! This is one of the most structured, disciplined, accelerated, and challenging schools I've ever been too, and it has certainly prepare me for high school.
