I have seen all three schools in Eastover, NC and this is by far the best of the three. My oldest son attended Eastover Central, my middle son completed 2 years at Armstrong and my youngest son spent 2 years at District 7 and 1 year at Armstrong. Eastover Central and District 7 are both excellent schools with solid faculties and staffs, but there is something special going on at Armstrong.

The work Principals Adams and Carter have done in improving this school is nothing short of amazing. You will not find two Principals more active in the education of children. Their leadership is impeccable and they both have a unique arendndndnnd respectful knack for motivating parents to get involved in their children's education.

Everyone from the faculty to the staff is excited to be at Armstrong and a part of what they are doing.

I am most impressed with the school's special needs program and how hard those teachers work and how deeply they care about the children.

I have witnessed nothing but smiles and encouragement in this school and I would recommend it above the other two elementary schools in Eastover.

This school is one of the most organized well run schools... I like how they send information, and make sure parents are involved.

When your child goes from honor roll to almost failing you know something's wrong. After placing him back in his first school he pulled those grades up in a matter of three weeks to straight As. Armstrong only held my son back from his potential. He is now thriving and a member of the Beta Club after being placed back in Seabrook.

I am very pleased with Armstrong. This is our second school year with a new principal and I think she has been an outstanding change for this school, just what the school needed. You can find the principal and assistant principal outside greeting families in the morning or walking through the building checking on students. While the children know that they mean business, they also know that the administration cares about them. The teachers truly care about the children and want every one of their students to be successful. I think that our teachers are the very best! Each grade level has a strong veteran teacher that helps to make sure that each grade is on track and is providing the students with what they need to learn and grow. The assistants, resource teachers, and support staff all work hard to build on what the school stands for and to support the mission and vision of the school. I know that when it comes time for my child to move up I will not be ready and will miss the Armstrong family dearly.

We would have to dissagree with the comment below. Our principal is amazing and her leadership skills are super. Her open door policy lets anyone speak their mind and answers are given if you seek them out! The teachers, staff, bus drivers, lunch ladies in this small town is a place that we are proud to call home. Remember when you see a score of a "5" this is avg....and EOG's are a VERY stressful time for students and the staff. Its a tiny part of what they really learned.....so we would advise to look at the 'big' picture. All of our schools really are superb and we will stay here as long as possable!

I gave this rating of average because while the teachers are all excellent, the principal leadership needs improvement and/or change. Let's just say, dictatorship comes to mind where all is feared to speak their minds for fear of losing their jobs. It's pretty sad, because it ultimately comes back and effects the children in their classrooms. As a military family ourselves, we have chosen to not attend this school in the next school year so that another school with better leadership can benefit better with our Impact Aid relief fund from the federal government.
