Oak City has been a second home for my children and an extension of our family for the past 7 years. Each teacher and staff member is incredible and committed to leading children to Jesus while the whole child grows and develops into who God has made them to be. Incredible education proven by well above grade level test results. This is a place where children thrive and love to learn!

Oak City Academys blended model has been the greatest gift to our family in 2023. We homeschooled full time for 2 years leading up to this year. I feel like my first and second graders are thriving academically and socially at OCA. I also feel a huge weight lifted off my shoulders on the academic side. I love the curriculum and everything about this program. I appreciate the amount of feedback that OCA asks for from me and my husband and I appreciate the overall structure of the school. I cannot say enough good things about this program!

OCA is everything you could ask for in a school plus more. At OCA your child is not just a number. Every child is seen as the individual God created them to be. Everyone at the school from the administration to the teachers cares for your child and wants to see them succeed. Their approach to education is a unique blend of Montessori and classical styles. We love that the students gets to learn at their own pace, while staying challenged. OCA focuses on fostering a life long love of learning rather than drilling information into the students. OCA is truly a blessing of a school!

My family has been at OCA for 2 years now with my young boys being in Kindergarten and 1st grade. Would could not love this school more or be more pleased with our children's "introduction to education." Despite the last 2 years being significantly impacted by Covid, my boys had AMAZING years. And most people I know did not. We do not take this lightly at all and are just so so grateful! The leadership and vision is just excellent. From the top down we have experienced an absolute excellence in education, a beautiful, vivid love for our Savior, and so much love and kindness it just does not seem real! We've only been at the school for 2 years, but I have yet to hear my boys say anything negative - at all. This amazingness trickles down to the students as well, and they are just so kind to each other! I live with my kids and I know they're not easy all the time, but the way their teachers LOVE them, KNOW them - their strengths and weaknesses, and respond with such encouragement and gentleness and kindness that my kids feel loved by them just blows me away.
Thank you OCA!

I am a student in Middle School at OCA and have been at this school since elementary. OCA is a great school and it really feels like home. Our teachers are wonderful and focus not only on our academics but also on what is going on in our hearts. Our teachers strive to make learning fun, know us, and really do care for us. The students are all welcoming, and I highly recommend this school!

So grateful we came across Oak City Academy's website as we planned to transition out of the public school setting, but hadn't found anything that just felt "right" -- two years in and we can't imagine being anywhere else. Peaceful classrooms, a unique mixture of Montessori and classical education, and staff that love your kids like their own, while fostering the WHOLE child. Gone are our days of being a number in a school system -- my son comes home excited to tell me how he learned math, geography, read the Bible, cared for the class pet, watered the class plants, and weaved on the loom. The character-building and life skills practiced there are such a gift. Because OCA does not assign homework outside of school, we are able to spend more time together as a family and kids can spend more time just being kids! I am continually impressed by the level of communication from staff and leaders within the school - it is a true partnership. We are thankful to be part of the OCA community and to have finally found a school that values wonder over test scores.

OCA is all I could have hoped for in a school for my kids. Gospel saturated, authentic, loving, diverse, embracing of differences, supporting the flourishing of the whole child. My kids LOVE learning and love school thanks to OCA. They are so confused when neighbors kids are happy when school is cancelled! Why wouldnt you love school!!?

OCA does not assign homework so my children come home from a fun day of learning at school and get to engage fully with out family after school!
Posted: August 4, 2020
The teacher are well trained, dedicated, and go the extra 20 miles! The teachers fiercely protect and strive for the best for each child.

My kids love the personal direction and discipleship they receive from the OCA staff. This doesnt happen just in Bible or character time but throughout each day.

Bullying is not tolerated. Each child is viewed as a unique image bearer of God who has value and deserves love. Bullying goes against this view of a person and is not part of the culture at OCA.

My daughter who is 8 attends OCA and she loves and so do we. It's great to see her learn and come home excited to share what she's learned at her school. What has impacted me the most was the recent story her teacher shared with me. A student got in trouble and needed to go to timeout. My daughter raised her hand and asked if she could go to timeout for the student as well as write the long letter that the student who got in trouble was required to write, when asked why my daughter replied that she wanted to do for the student what Christ did for us. "Take our place". It brings tears to my eyes that she's learning what most adults haven't figured out and that's that life isn't about us, but Go's glory.

My daughter attends OCA and I was a little nervous at first because her old school she attended for 3 years and had such a great relationship not only with her peers but teachers and the principles. After the first day at OCA she said MOM! I don't ever want to leave OCA :-) OCA is a school where you know that your child is being loved and taught how to love and show Gods grace. My prayer is that OCA is blessed with all that is needed to keep the school going until Jesus comes :-) Thank you OCA!

I have two children at OCA, and they are both thriving in the Montessori classroom. The teachers are intentional with each child, determined to help them grow academically, spiritually, and socially. We feel privileged to be a part of this wonderful community.

This school is the only place where I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that my son is being challenged academically, while nurtured and encouraged. He learns math, language science and more, but he also learns about the Sovereignty of God, and the grace of Jesus Christ. I cannot say enough about what a blessing this school has been for our family, and how much I believe in the mission, and the impact this school has on our community.

This is a fantastic school, making a real impact in the community! Great academic format, but also nurturing and truly invested in the lives of the students and their families.

After my daughter being in a public school and seeing her fall threw cracks because too many students in one classroom, and seeing for myself how when a child needs alittle more one on one from a teacher oak city has been a saving grace .I now see my child kamiree having confidence in herself because her needs are now being met in the classroom . It was the best referral that I could have been given ,her educational needs are met and the spiritual values and moral compromised for ne as a single parent .I am proud to say they are yhe best ,,,,

I have two children attending OCA who have very different personalities. The teachers do an amazing job to ensure that both of their academic and social development needs are met. We are so thankful we found OCA - it's a hidden gym in Raleigh!

This is my daughter's first year of attending school, and our family is privileged that our first experience has been with OCA. My daughter looks forward to going to school each morning and with seeing her progress we are looking forward to enroll our son next year. Currently, she has been learning her continents and has been sharing with us the different continents she wants to go tell people about Jesus. I believe having my children at OCA is one of the best places for education and community for our kids to be all God made them to be to leave their mark on the world!

I m thrilled with the vision Oak City Academy has for their students and the execution of that vision through the day-to-day teaching and interaction with the students. The administration, teachers and staff love the children well and want to see them thrive in their education and in life. OCA has a heart not only to educate children but also to bring racially and economically diverse people together to use their individual gifts and talents for the benefit of the OCA community as a whole. It does not get any better than Oak City Academy.

Oak City Academy is a school where the administration and teachers genuinely care about the students growth, not only in academics which are extremely important to them, but also character, personal skills and growing in working with others as well. The lessons learned by my children in how to relate to others has helped them to see our world in a different light. Very thankful for the teaching here!

This school has been everything that I hoped it would be. They combine academics, creativity, social justice and Jesus in a real and beautiful way.

I am a first year parent of an OCA student and have been thoroughly pleased with the progress my son has made since his enrollment. The curriculum is great. His personality is a great fit for the Christian Montessori environment. I look forward to the remainder of the school year because I know he is going to get more than just book knowledge but a life experience.

The teachers really love the children and are community oriented. They go out of their way to connect with the parents, ensure there are clear lines of communication, and they are tailoring the education to the needs of the child.

My school is doing a great job teaching children about God and Jesus and giving children an excellent education. Oak City Academy is a fully integrated Christian school that mixes suburban with urban children. This school is a community intent on helping all families represented at this facility.

When I heard about the vision of Oak City Academy, I knew it was going to be an education vessel that God was going to use to change lives. To come together as a community, regardless of background, and learn rigorously with Christ as the center of all subject matter is not something that is found in many education systems today. The genuine care and love that the teachers have for the students is...beautiful. What a blessing this school is to our family and to the city that surrounds it.

Oak City is cultivating students to be change agents and innovators! I've never seeing such a holistic, diverse and robust education environment that engages students until I encountered Oak City Academy. Glad to have worked and served the students there.

We love OCA!! What a comfort to know that you are leaving your child with teachers that truly love and care for them. This school is such a blessing and our family is very thankful to have such a great school to send our child to every day!

We could not be happier with OCA. Their genuine love for our child is remarkable -- and is clearly fueled by their love for God. Our son not only sees this in his teachers, but explicitly hears the truths and glories of God as He is at the center of all of their lessons and language. We couldn't ask for more for our child.

OCA provides the highest excellence in education for a diverse body of students. Their vision is unique, and when I heard of it I knew becoming a part of the OCA family would be worth moving all the way from Florida. As a teacher at OCA, I have the opportunity to provide an individualized education while reaching into the lives of the students' families in a way that other schools cannot offer.

OCA is a Christ-saturated and academically rigorous school that was birthed through the prayers of many faithful men and women. My son has been a student since the doors opened for his Pre-K year and is now a first grader. My son's love for learning has grown exponentially and he is achieving above grade level in all areas. His understanding and love for Jesus is encouraged in his classroom because God is taught to be the true source and Creator of ALL learning. The teachers and staff have a deep care for my son and our family and are extremely approachable - sending me pictures of my child at work and telling me stories of his day. Oak City Academy is a one-of-a-kind school that I hope we will be a part of for many years.

Oak city is changing the face of Christian education and is unique by reaching out to the community. Our children have a chance to be a part of what God is doing. To me that is the highest honor.

My daughter has been attending Oak City Academy since the first day it opened its doors. She is now a 1st grader and we could not have chosen a better school. The growth that my daughter has sustained while attending OCA has been remarkable. She is excited about going to school everday and not only is she learning at her own pace, she is exceling beyond her grade level! We love OCA! It's not just a school, it is a FAMILY!

Oak City Academy is a wonderful place for children to obtain foundational principles that will set the course for their successful lives. Our son attended Oak City for their pre-K and Kindergarten and as a result he is at the top of his class this year. Not only are they great with academics, they have assisted us in shaping him into a respectful, caring and considerate child. At Oak City Academy, they not only excel academically, they approach children holistically. The clever integration of Christ into the curriculum helped address our sons spiritual needs as well as his academic needs and that was extremely important. At Oak City, they care about each child's abilities and potential individually and address them as such. Our son was not put into a cookie cutter system, instead, they met him where he was to help achieve his full potential and as a result, as I said our child is well prepared to take on whatever challenge the world can throw.

My son is in 2nd grade and my daughter is in K5 this year at OCA. We truly love this school! My son has been in OCA since K5 and we could not be happier. Not only are they receiving an awesome education but the teachers have a true love for their students. When I drop my children off in the morning I am confident that they are in a safe place. We love the Montessori method of learning and also the classical education. On top of all of this, OCA has a beautiful heart and vision for our city! We are incredibly thankful for this place and for all they have done in the lives of our children and the children in our community!

As both a parent and a staff member at this school, I am continually AMAZED at the transformational education our kids receive. My son exited Kindergarten able to add 3 digit numbers, understand the concept of multiplication, reading at an end of 1st grade level, AND (do we even need an AND? :) he had memorized a Timeline of History with over 200 historical events. Our daughter was in the PreK4 classroom and was fluently and phonetically reading by the middle of her 4 year old year. I don't think a school could do any better than combining both Montessori (hands on materials) and Classical Education (intensive memorization through songs). We are THRILLED with their progress and most of all thrilled that they both LOVE learning. The teachers really care about the students, the classrooms are economically and racially diverse, and ALL the parents play an active role in their child's education. We are so happy. It really is a community.

My grand kids have gone to this school since it was founded. It is a beautiful school where all the children feel safe and cared for. They seem to love learning, and are advanced well beyond their peers in public school. They come home from school bubbling with excitement and share everything they have been learning and memorizing. The administration has a huge heart for the community and involves the parents and community in the school and the children's education. For instance, parents and community members are enlisted to come into the school and teach about their overseas travels each month as the kids study a new continent. OCA schedules many unique field trips during the year, too. Last year they traveled to a Christmas tree farm and cut down their own tree for their classroom! I would recommend this school wholeheartedly!
