West Perry's principal and guidance office are working, sacrificing, and ultimately succeeding. In my every encounter with principal Chris Rahn and guidance counselor, Diane Zieders, I have been humbled by their willingness to jump through hoops of napalm, not for the money because there is little of that, but for the kids. There are some exemplary teachers: Grippin, Boden, McMillin, Urich, all teaching the heck out of whatever they're told to teach. The students are a gracious group, polite, anxious to learn. They yearn for a career uninvolved with hard labor (they've done plenty of it already). Quite simply, they are hungry--in all aspects of the word.
