What an awesome school district! My kids are fortunate to have attended Cedar Cliff high school. Miles better than the schools I attended when I was their age (were considered good schools back then). These great school ratings make no sense. This school is FAR better than a 6/10. I would say 9/10 based on the experience my kids have had here. Go Colts!

This school is more student focused and not reputation focused like CV. My son is doing fantastic in this district and I look forward to him graduating with honors.

currently going here, and the staff is just horrid. they try dress coding you when you have a little bit of belly showing, and dont do anything to the others with their whole chest being revealed or lower half. they often times target the people who seem to be less weary. few teachers are actually good at their job, and deserve a raise. grading is harsh, and given a very short deadline to complete. i got 2 essays in a week and was given 4 days to complete both. most of the stuff we learn is either something learnt in middle school, or is a higher academic level than the other grades. the lunches are disgusting, and the bathrooms are very unclean. there is mold growing under the sinks and behind the toilets in one bathroom. i dont recommend coming here, the students are awful too. staff doesnt do anything against bullying, and supports the side being the bully just because theyre close with the parents or are rich and support fundraisers in the school.
mr moore, mr mcclymont, mr simms, mr burnham, mr sload and mr uibel are by most the nicest freshman/extra teachers. they teach their subjects proudly and efficiently, theyve taught me so much and have brought some joy in learning in this covid filled year

it sucks. honest to god, i've considered going cyber school so many times. cedar cliff is honestly a joke.

some teachers don't even explain the curriculum and others do, overall, the majority could do better

there's a handful of teachers that are good at teaching and caring for their students, some don't, others could care less about the kids and just want money

I am very interested to know others thoughts on the State Ranking for Cedar Cliff at roughly 373 out of roughly 681 high schools. My son is headed there for 2018, and the basis for the ranking on SchoolDigger indicates a barely passing grade on students understanding of math and science, which is what my son excels at. Time to move?

My brothers and I all graduated from CC. Never thought about writing a review on here, but after seeing some of these I felt it was necessary. This is a very good Public School and just like any Public School, you get what you put into it. So reviews about your girlfriend's neglect to her kid's attendance or questioning projects or the foreign language dept for why your kid can't speak a single sentence after 3 years don't provide any helpful insight to outsiders looking in. Some people need to do less finger pointing and look in the mirror. If your kid wants to slack and put no effort into their schooling then it doesn't matter where they go, they'll still be where they came from. Cedar Cliff provides plenty of opportunities to get in AP level classes, many of the teachers have become huge role models for me even to this day, the athletics are getting better every year, the music and arts dept is awesome, and since it's a smaller high school (compared to CV, CD, and a couple other monsters in S. Central PA) you get the individual attention you need at that age. Some schools treat you almost like another number and you have no connection to the teachers or admin staff outside of the building, but at CC they still keep that on the forefront. Cedar Cliff is a great community altogether. The school is old, but they've done some reconstruction that I haven't seen yet so that's still up in the air (at least for me). But if you're wavering on a couple different schools in the area then you won't be disappointed if you go with the Cliff.

My brother and I are graduates of Cedar Cliff, and both of us went to ivy league schools. Although I wish I had more of an advantage, I do feel that I was as prepared for college as any other student at the university. I feel that the education I received in high school and the quality of teachers were top notch. I would actually rank one or two teachers to be as passionate about teaching as my college professors I also loved the size of CC. There are a ton of extracurricular sports, clubs and activities. Pretty much if you stick with something for four years, you re running it by junior or senior year. All the amenities are there. The bottom line is that Cedar Cliff will challenge you if you desire to be challenged.

This School is a big fat joke! My girl-friends son is a senior this yr and as of today has been tardy 31 times and unexcused absent 16 times! And NOTHING is being done about it. He says his teacher said it's cool as long as he does his work. He has been held back 2 times and is on credit recovery and co-op, yet even the days he doesn't work he's home by 10:30 or !! am EVERY DAY! My question is how come ALL THE STUDENTS WHO DO WHAT THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO DO HAVE TO BE IN SCHOOL ALL DAY! But this kid doesn't even arrive on time or even show up sometimes, gets rewarded and gets to come home early EVERY DAY and play video games while the other kids have to stay in school until the end of the day like they should!!! As I said this school is a joke!! They are not preparing this child for life, jobs don't allow you, or bosses don't allow this behavior in REAL LIFE! I am thankful my daughter WILL NOT be enrolling at Cedar Cliff. We even had a parent teacher conference WHICH DID ABSOLUTELY NO GOOD AT ALL! The teacher NEVER GOT HIS WORK SCHEDULE LIKE THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO! I'm stopping now because I'm getting angry thinking about how you let kids just skate by!! THANKS, FRUSTRATED PARENT
