Do NOT come to this school. I had my child attend this school but immediately had to take her out when i heard and witnessed how disgusting this school is. There are bugs everywhere! Ants and roaches that i witnessed myself. There are always fights!! The teachers dont even do anything about it because they are horrible teachers that dont know how to do their job. They do not know how to work with teenagers and are very unprofessional. Theres barely any classes to choose from. And the bathrooms smell like smoke because there are kids always smoking in there! And i’ve even seen it myself, the kids just walk out the school! They walk out the school and go to their houses or to a near gas station?! What type of school has such low security, low supervision, low administration that the kids just walk out the school at whatever time they please? Do not even think about involving yourself or any of your family members to this school.

So I went here before so I can do wrestling and when I did wrestling the coach was very disrespectful and has done threats to me. One of the coach was so rude that if you do the smallest mistake he will either yell at you so loud or curse at you. Run away from this school if you are going to do wrestling.

The school faces challenges in the fact that a good portion of their student body is only there for only one year. Many of those students are military dependents who will more often than not have to navigate 2-3 high schools in as many different states. There seems to be a distrust in the quality of education received at other schools, fearing that the incoming students may not be able to handle the academic load. This is the 3rd high school for our family and we had expected more from a school with a lot of experience with military dependents. This does not appear to be the case across the board. It seems that a strong preference is given to those students who will be at the school for several years. Again, this is understandable but unfair to those students who have to live it and feel like they really don't quite belong despite making many efforts to get involved in activities or in the classroom. Our experience with sports teams has been very different. The teams have been inclusive and provided great coaching and team spirit.

For honors students, there is an overwhelming amount of worksheets that don't seem to develop many critical thinking skills. This is my student's biggest frustration. While not difficult, the worksheets seem endless and don't do much to develop higher-level thinking skills. This could be dependent on the teacher but if so, my student seems to have all of those that follow that model. Our experience is primarily what my student calls, "Death by Worksheet". Often times the HW is assigned and just checked, but in order to get around the amount of fill-in-the blank type assignments, there is a lot of copying done by the students.

My student's experience has been varied. There seems to be a heavy reliance on packets and worksheets. There seems to be more of a focus on teaching to the test than actually learning. There have been times where teachers have made comments that were unprofessional; critizing a religious group or berating the president of the US. Other comments about students from the War College being "entitled" have gone unaddressed. This is very different from our experience at other high schools.

They claim to support military dependents assigned to the war college, however, of the 3 high schools my children have attended, this is by far the school that has done the least for them. Ironically, the other 2 high schools were in areas that do not have many military dependents. It appears that there is better/ more support for the dependents of permanent party assigned to the War College, but those who only spend a year at the high school (through no fault of their own) do not seem to be given much support. It is as if the school does not want to invest in them.

I had a great time in high school except when I joined culinary my sophomore year it was great sophomore year the rest junior and senior terrible you don’t learn anything new plus you don’t get help much for kids with dissabilities they don’t care I only had one teacher that cared about me and my education my math teacher.

My oldest son completed 9th grade at CHS. We found the academics to be challenging for him and the teachers and staff engaged with the students. The school offered a variety of academic programs to include honors and AP curriculum. There is also a diverse program of extra curricular activities and sports programs with excellent mentors and coaches.

Carlisle High School has many great academic and extra-curricular offerings. As military kids, my teenagers have found limitless opportunities to be involved in the school community, including cheer-leading, cross country (both with great coaching), Model UN, Shakespeare Troupe, as well as AP and IT courses. We have encountered many teachers here who go out of their way to make Carlisle High School an engaging and encouraging place to learn, and would not hesitate to recommend it to other families.

My oldest started at CHS in 9th grade. Coming from overseas, we knew the transition would be challenging. Pleasantly surprised the transition for my son went smoothly. CHS football, freshman orientation and local families reached out to us and helped my son fit in sooner rather than later. He has had a lot of clubs, sports and challenging classes to participate in over the last 3 years. Teachers and counselors have been great as well. CHS is a diverse school with lots of options. My daughter started at CHS last year as a 9th grader as well. She too has had a great experience. Both kids are active in Model United Nations as well.

We are a military family here for just one year. We found the administration difficult to deal with to get into the classes that we needed. Jumping through hoops two weeks before classes start to get all the required paperwork for advanced classes. The student body is used to the war college kids coming in for a year so they just ignore them. If kids don't make friends with other military kids they will have difficulty making friends. We have attended 9 schools in 11 years and find this one the most unfriendly and unwelcoming. As far as education, I would say that the huge size of the school makes it very dependent on the teachers you get. Average at best.

This school puts way too much emphasis on getting the grade rather than actually learning. The teachers aren't great and the classes aren't very good either. It would be nice to actually retain information rather than have it shoved in our brains only to be forgotten after the test. I

The school district doesn't know what it's doing. There's a vocational wing, but the programs are terrible. Certain rules within the school, such as the bell system, are misconfigured and obstructive. That's not even half of it.

This school is much like most schools. The kids who want to excel do. I graduated from Carlisle and I didn't have any issues. My son is a current student and he has far more opportunities than I did. I'm thankful for the rules the administrators enforce. Most people in the world today are CLUELESS on what is right or wrong. Why do you think we have so many stupid laws? For stupid people. Sorry but it's true.

Carlisle High School has some severe problems that involve incompetent teachers they cannot get rid of because they give them tenure after three years. About 25% of the teachers are excellent, another 50% are ok and about 25% have no business being in the classroom. The poor teachers refuse parent involvement to hide their incompetence, and the administration does not hold them accountable. It is a free for all because it appears no one is disciplining the poor teachers. In fact, they are enabled by the administration. It really does a disservice to the children. Their special education department is a failure, staffed by people who attempt to diagnose every kid they can with ADD - without meeting them in some cases. If you have a child who is different or has special needs, run far away from this school.
