My child was treated poorly. He was made to eat a sandwich out of the trash.

Bullied and there was abuse by other kids that did not get reported to the parents. My child went from an A student to hating school. I wish we never enrolled them here, the school should have been closed sooner.

I am a former student at this school. I was there from pre-k to 2nd grade, when I was three my teacher would get upset with us for talking and take us to the back of the room and put hand sanitizer on our tongues. She showed clear favoritism and this treatment extended all the way to second grade with a whole different teacher. Although, this was not the worst long lasting affect this school had on me as a child.
I switched to public school in 3rd grade and my soon-to-be teacher noticed I was still reading at a Kindergarten level and called my Mom wondering what happened and had asked how in the world did I pass second grade, I was 9 at this point, and it still shows its affect in my math skills because I was also behind on that for years. Up until Junior year of High School I did not understand any basic principles of math.
When I was in second grade, my teacher did not like someone in my family and because of this she took it out on me. She refused to help when I would ask questions and made me put my head down for talking.
All that being said, this school should have been closed long before it was. I am glad no child will have to experience what I did.

Poor communication; standards not being applied equally among the children at the school; clear favoritism among the children of teachers.

I suppose they try to have a biblical approach, but it is difficult when children see that not every child has the same consequences.

Well, considering they lost 3 grades, I cannot see how this is effective.

I would say that they are ineffective with children who have a high IQ, so I cannot imagine that they are effective with any child who needs extra.

I have not had an experience with this, but from what I have seen, they are ineffective at problem solving period.

If I could go back and change one thing in my life, it would be that I sent my child to this school. He has gone from a straight A student to a child who is struggling, and the teachers never bothered to even say anything.

The homework my child brought home was way behind what other kids his age were doing - for middle school at least. He was bringing home things that should have been covered in elementary school.

I have worked there for about 4 months now, and I have enjoyed getting to know the students, the teachers, and the many opportunities available for the students. The teachers love their students and show that love ultimately by reflecting the love of Jesus Christ. Their dedication to their students is admirable, and it is shown in the time and effort they dedicate for every class period and project. God's presence is very real there, and it is a pleasure to walk through those doors every morning.

Homework is sent home in folders for each student. Parents are able to contact teachers if they have questions regarding the homework. Homework is strongly tied to the curriculum and is given in reasonable amounts for each grade.

The teachers at The Oaks are loving, intelligent, and creative educators. They love their students and show that love through the preparation they put into their classes, the projects and assignments they give to students, and their willingness to discipline students. Most importantly, they stress Biblical principles such as hard work, service to fellow students, and love for God and His Word.

This school is rooted in the principles found in the Bible. It promotes Christian living, kindness to others, and seeks to cultivate a Biblical worldview in all of its students. Beyond that, the teachers at this school help students understand the love of God and how it transforms them into kind, compassionate, respectful members of society and the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.

The leadership at this school is effective because it doesn't just rely on a single person's opinion on how to run things. The administration at the school is under the school board, which is made up of several people. The leadership at the school is willing to seek outside resources if necessary and allows open communication between parents, teachers, and administration. Decisions are made after careful consideration with concerned parties and then shared with teachers and parents.

This school is limited in size and specialty when it comes to students with learning differences. While teachers will work with parents to adapt lessons and projects for students with learning differences, there are limitations. Each parent needs to decide what kind of educational experience will work best for their child.

Teachers and the administration do not tolerate bullying in any form. Students are disciplined by losing privileges, demerits, and should the problem intensify, calls to parents, suspension, and eventually expulsion. Students at The Oaks are considered to be made in the image of God and thus deserving utmost respect and compassion.

Excellent place to teach. I have the freedom to help students see God in all the subjects that I teach. It has been a blessing to watch so many students grow in obedience, attitude, knowledge, and spirit.

I had a wonderful experience. The staff is top notch along with the education. The Christian environment is encouraging. Everything at the Oaks is filtered through scripture making it a peaceful place to be.
