As a sophomore who has attended this school for the past 2 years, do not send you're children here unless they want to be there.

I have personally been through life threatening situations and am still dealing with one of these, the administration brushes off any actual concerns.

One of the many situations I previously mentioned was when another student threatened to r@pe me. A guidance consular told me it was my fault because I had rejected the student.

As far as academics I am in honors math but cannot perform past an middle school math level, it's extremely frustrating. Some teachers even quit in the middle of the year for example my Spanish teacher whom we had for maybe a little less than a quarter just left and hadn't came back, nobody is allowed to tell us where he is but we are assigned work daily that is not what he was teaching us but new lessons which nobody takes the time to teach us.

Bullying is very common and accepted sometimes administration will even target or show favoritism to certain students.

We have a very strict dress code that doesn't even make sense as all other schools in our district are allowed to wear pink,white,black,blue,navy blue and sometimes red collared shirts plus jeans. The highschool only allows us to wear white,black and navy blue, me and one of my friends both got in trouble one day for wearing a blue shirt that was maybe two shade to light for administration (mind you my shirt was a school sponsored shirt from a coach). I have also gotten in trouble for wearing a white skirt beacuse we cannot wear white as a bottom color.

Nobody here is ever on the same page.
Materials are not given to students.
They don't give us freedom (walking around during breaks, walking during lunch,no outside time and no phones)

I have had horrible teachers and a few awesome teachers. Some teacher's say slurs and cuss while others actually care about what you're learning.

Most of the time the good caring awesome teachers get fired because the school doesn't have enough funding to support them and would rather pay subs who are 10x worse than a bad teacher.

I have been bullied,harassed,stalked, threatened, hurt and stolen from in this school. They do not care about you are you're students constitutional rights. They will slience you're student and kick you as a parent out of the school or dismiss you by saying there is nothing they can do.

If you're child does not want to go to this school consider other options, believe them.

Many of the students look like they don’t want to be here. I don’t blame them! Many of the students are mean and don't care about their academics at all. The environment is really toxic! Some teachers are nice and really care about the students. Others seem like they don't know how to teach. Many of my peers almost failed a class all because a teacher couldn't explain what they were teaching. Some teachers aren't even in the school and instead are online. Late busses are very common so be sure you have a ride to get home. Even though the principal makes very reasonable points and is trying to make things better, the school is very chaotic. Nothing is stable. As long as you ignore all the mean kids and surround yourself with students who like you the way you are, you will survive this school until senior year. If you’re about to be a freshman, I feel sorry for you. After I graduate, I will be sure to get rid of everything that has to do with this district.

Although I like school, I would not suggest this school to anyone in the region. Some instructors are extremely respectful of their students, while others are completely disrespectful. I wouldn't say it's completely the student's fault for being distraught, but the administration also plays a role, with the clothing code being more concerned than our real educational level.

The administration is more focused on graduation rates and numbers, rather than making sure the students are actually learning. A child who cannot read nor write, will most likely pass through every grade with only minor setbacks. In the eyes of CCHS, "it's more important that a student moves on to the next grade than for the student to take the time to comprehend what is being taught. We don't teach comprehension, we teach testing. All that matters is that a student can repeat answers onto a standardized test, it is not important that they actually understand what it is that they are writing down". Please beware, if you are considering raising your child in Colleton County, you would be better off home schooling or even moving your family one county over. I write this not to degrade the school, but as a warning to any parents out there who have a sincere concern for their child's education. If you are looking for a high quality, friendly, safe, and engaging learning environment for your child, I suggest you search elsewhere.

Colleton County High School is the worst school ever. We have terrible lunch and poor education rights. They would rather us out of school than in school. The uniform policy is the worst, its way too strict.
