I'm a current student at this school and over all it has been a pretty negative experience. The teachers at this school all kind over all but some of them lack teaching. The schools main problem is the moderation because the people in charge are not doing a good job at making this a decent school. to list a few problems the schools power gets cut off almost every day and and the people that are supposed to fix that are to pre occupied with making the social environment worse for students. firstly no phones and I can kind of see why this is until they go out of there way to find them like actually looking for them to the point that they act like its there whole job. A new problem that I have discovered is that they will monitor you and supposedly "not let you get off track" but the problem with that is they dont check if the thing there blocking is related to academics or if the student is finished with there work or not, not to long ago the admins blocked Google slides and a website that is needed for another class as well which prevented me to not be able to work and had to sit there for a our and a half while I watch my peers get ahead of me. Another problem is something called a "smart pass" which you have to make if you want to leave the class to the bathroom or something but on paper it sounds good until you see that you only get 5 min to go to the restroom which is already to short but you also have to realize that only one student per class can be out which sucks because if one person isn't coming back you will have to wait, and the best part is that you still have to ask your teacher to leave which ruins the whole point in the first place. put on a more sensitive side I have bad anxiety and I get panic attacks so If I think I have a panic attacks coming up I have to send a request to go to the nurse wait for him to accept it walk downstairs through hallways and knock on the door all of which might happen while having a panic attack so I either have to have one in class or in the bathroom which you still need a pass for. the last problem I have to talk about is mainly about how much enjoyment that's in this school so basically not much because they don't get you get on any websites and don't allow phones so you have to sit there for a hour and a half if your done for four periods

The policies here are very out of hand. Sometimes they're enforced, sometimes they're not. Students don't know what to do. The dress code is out of control, as girls are allowed to wear very skimpy short skirts, and the teachers get mad at boys for not wearing a uniform under a hoodie. The referral policy is ridiculous! You can get a referral on your permanent record for practically no reason! Most of the classes are very boring, which reflects on the low average test scores, and good teachers are few and far between! This has been my experience in only 2 months as an 8th grader!

If I could give zero stars I would. Should honestly get closed down if you ask me. Most teachers dont even teach and then complain that grades are low. Staff is always complaining about hoodies but like who cares if Im cold Im cold. You want me to freeze while in them boring classes. And phones, if people are on their phones the school shouldnt be making students lock them up in pouches instead see why they are on their phones instead of listening, youre obviously teaching incorrectly. Make things fun in order for us to listen.

left this school after 2.5 years there, dreaded going to class and was eager to leave, no opportunities to make friends because the school is so small, rules are extremely strict and they can physically force you to take off a hoodie if it isn't the perfect shade of navy blue, they are more concerned with students looking professional to visitors than how the students actually feel

the teachers from my experiences they often try there hardest to make sure everyone is on the same page like Miss.D for an example she tries her hardest to work with everyone so we are all on the same page because there is people who get it quickly and then there who don't grasp it the first time. she lets her students help teach other students because it helps kids see it from a different perspective

well I am a student here I am in 10th grade about to be in 11th. I overall am enjoying my experience. most of all the teachers try to help there students and gives out good amount of hw through out the course some more than others of course. Some of the students here do, do bad things and that because there kids and yeah not everyone is perfect and if you expect a school like that then well its a lie. Most of the high school has honer roll and most out of that there is straight A's (like 40% of them). The teachers are more than understanding if you are trying or if you act like you do not care but you do they still try to help you at the best they can (well most of them),they try to help after school, or during school when its the best time to do also. Yeah I might not like it all the time but that is just life there are way more good moments then bad by far to me. I fully recommend coming here

yes this school gives out descent amount of hw to use students and if you may be struggling to do so the teachers(most of them) are willing to help on it and may request to for you to stay after school if needed more help

I am student at CCSMS. I do not enjoy. All of the teachers here do not give homework, students here, let's just say do bad things, and all the good kids do not get recognized and the bad kids do!! this first quarter, only 1 person had all A's. That's not good!! All the teachers here are lazy and don't care about you, nor go by the standards. This school is not good and I do not recommend coming here.

I am a parent of a child in 6th grade at CCSMS. CCSMS is a wonderful school. The teachers are motivated, the building is adequate and new, and it is a small school which is what my husband and I wanted for our youngest child. Math and science are emphasized (hence the name), and in high school you can choose different tracks such as medical and engineering to receive college credit in advance. My son was apprehensive about going there at first because he had to wear a uniform, but there are dress down days so he does not have to wear it all of the time. if you have a child that is interested in math and science, and you would like the comfort and security of a smaller school, this is the school for you.

I have two children in Charleston Charter for Math and Science and they both love this school. Both my son's come home excited about their day and what they have learned. The teachers go out of their way to make every subject interesting and fun. I hear the thrill in my son's voices when they tell us about thier day at dinner and I know that this is the perfect school for them. I have told everyone about applying at this school if they want the best for their children. The adminstration makes you feel welcome as a parent and encourages you to be a partipant in your child's education. It is very evident that my boys are getting the best when they show a great deal of pride their projects and their homework. The communication is very open between the teachers and parents. It makes it easier to help your child succeed.

I love this school they have a great athletic program, a great academic program, and it has that Family feel to it. I personally like small schools and well this is a small schools . their are about 18 to 22 kids in a class, the class choices are spectacular, and the teachers are great. The ony thing that is looked down upon is the area, if you go their it isn't in the best area of town , but there has never ever been a problem with the environment . I would highly recommend you send your child to this highly diverse, grade a standing , school
