I am a teacher at this school. I have been a teacher for decades, have taught at many different schools, and with many different administrators. I am very pleased with the administration team at this school and the leadership provided by Mrs. Kelley. It all begins there to establish the culture of a school. They are impressive and involved here as administrators. They know the students, are are responsive if there is a problem in the classroom with behavior. There is not a middle school in the world that does not have students in middle school who make mistakes and do dumb things. That is part of the age of our students. I love that if a student is not behaving they will remove that student from the classroom, so everyone else can learn and the lesson can proceed. I have never worked anywhere where that has happened, and it makes a huge difference. Our principal is down to earth and supportive, and she does not micromanage. She allows teachers to teach and to do what is best for students. She has a hands-on approach to building relationships with students and personally greets every busload of students to welcome them daily and remind them to put away phones and hats etc. She is walking the halls and engaging with them. They know her and want to please her because they have a connection with her.

The Josten's Renaissance Program is a huge bonus to this school and has been blooming this past year. It has created a more positive environment for all who spend their days within the walls of this school. Students, staff, & faculty (called staffulty) are all recognized for doing what they are supposed to and for improvement. They plan events for the kids and have lots of incentives for doing the right thing. This positive approach is far better than a focus on discipline and negative consequences. Everyone who comes to GMS deserves to be recognized & celebrated for good choices, improvement, and overall achievement. Effort counts & striving students who struggle are also celebrated. This matters. Some students will never be the top students in school because of their learning challenges. This system still gives those students positive recognition & celebrates their efforts to do their best in school. I can only expect the school to improve each year as this Renaissance mindset continues to grow & spread through the entire school. GMS was recognized this year at the Josten's Renaissance International Conference as a Josten's School of Distinction!

My child experienced a traumatic incident at Gregg Middle School. During a math class, some students made baseless and completely unfounded accusations, claiming there was a dangerous item in my child’s bag. The way the teachers and school administration handled the situation further exacerbated the emotional distress my child experienced. After the incident, my child was deeply shaken, frightened, and no longer felt safe at school.

I expect the school administration to take concrete actions to prevent such baseless accusations and ensure that such incidents do not occur again. As a parent, I am deeply disappointed by this situation and demand that the school places greater emphasis on the safety and well-being of its students!

Gregg Middle School is the best middle School in the district. The faculty and staff really care about their students.

This school could be a lot better. Most students are the worst people you could ever meet but others are amazing. This school has made me feel stressed and depressed at a point because of how I went through daily things at school. Although i did grow strongly as a person and i adore my teachers and the classes. The food is nasty most days but only private schools have fresh delicious food. The staff could be nicer and they should stop jumping to conclusions.

There are some nights where the homework is confusing and when we haven’t learned that topic yet while the teachers think we should know it. Sometimes the homework is very easy and can be done quickly.

Some teachers are very great at their jobs and help students excel. I had a teacher in 7th grade who cried whenever a student did anything wrong. She was old but she is the teacher. The one who is in control. I thouht she should have done something more. i adored this teacher but i thought she could do better in discipline. Other teachers taught their subjects very well and knew how to handle disrespectful students.

For a fact i know that students here have many fights and arguments but i don’t think it’s due to the school. I know that my teachers have definitely made me a better person and to become less shy.

Whenever someone reports a bullying incident they take it to their guidance teacher of course but the guidance teacher mostly never helps. I’m sure they were professionally trained to do their job but they would mainly report the behavior to a guardian hoping they could do something. I had a friend who has been to the guidance teacher many times because she was bullied a lot. She trusted the teacher a lot but i believe he did nothing too serious to help.

Plain awful in every way. A prime example of systemic incompetence! Inadequate teaching skills and lack of supervision where the kids are concerned. Victims of bullying get revictimized by the staff by suffering suspension due to unavoidable contact made in attempts to get their attackers off of them. Cameras are never where the incidents occur, nor is staff. Very uncaring, as another reviewer put it, sums it up perfectly. So happy my child has moved on to high school.

This school is the most uncaring school we have ever dealt with. Our daughter went from loving school (perfect attendance since Pre-K) to hating it. The stress and tension created enough physical pain she is no longer in school! Communication is non-existant. Emails go unanswered - phone calls as well. I wrote on her interim report in the remarks section - "We are concerned that our daughter is struggling with math. What can we do to help her at home". Received no answer to any of those notes on her interims. One teacher made the entire 6th grade walk the hallway for 20+ minutes because a few students acted up in line. When I asked about this she "explained" she was "teaching" the students how to behave in line. Our daughter (age 11 at the time) was made to carry all of her books for the entire 20+ minutes. She came home with bruises on her arms from the burden. The principal does a lot of glaring and eye rolling when she is asked about specific incidents (like the 20+ minute enforced march). She is condescending and disrespectful, yet expects to be treated respectfully. At this school, rules are more important that the students. We will homeschool next year.

Both of my kids loved Gregg. The teachers & staff are great. Both children were involved in the band and my daughter is in chorus, color guard & theatre club.

I now have my 2nd child at Gregg and we love it. They have great communication and a wonderful staff. My daughter had a problem with another student picking on her and it was immediately taken care of.

gregg is so lame i mean really. it's suckish and lame. i used to go until i was bullied. i'm in eighth grade and i already am cutting. these kids are awfully mean. i nearly attempted suicide after gregg. i am now homeschooled and recovering, but parents don't put your kids in gregg!

I work at Gregg an LOVE it. Unlike what some students have reported, I know that if an incident occurs it is fully investigated. The teachers, principals, and support staff care about the students learning the material and about their well being. My son and daughter have both attended here and both are starting college this year with no problems.

I am very dissatisfied with this school. As a student I know firsthand how bad it is. First of all, I am given the impression that the teachers, with a few exceptions, care only about paychecks. Teachers should care more about the wellbeing of a student, as well as their future. Second of all, I have written several reports on bullying, broken lockers, and stolen books. Nothing has been done for any of these matters. I had already reported my science book stolen, and now they are saying I owe 47 dollars for loosing it. Every time I try to report something, instead of talking to me about it, the shove a witness form in my hand and then they might as well throw it away, because nothing is done. I am especially very angry because I had to miss incentive day because my book was missing, and instead of helping me, they treated my as a suspect for "loosing" my book. I am very unpleased and I doubt I will stay here.
