I have attended several schools, but none of them felt like the right fit for me. However, when I walked into this school, I immediately felt welcomed and like I belonged. The students are friendly, and there is a diverse mix of people. Most of the teachers seem to genuinely enjoy being here and teaching. Although Allegro doesn't offer many core class options, it makes up for it with the music department. During my time here, I have improved not only in music but also in my core classes, and I am understanding the material better.

Allegro is a fantastic school! Teachers are fully supported by administration in regards to curriculum and student behavior. I love the diversity of staff and students, and I appreciate the collaborative environment. There is a strong emphasis on differentiation. In addition to excellent teachers, the school staff also includes a significant number of learning coaches to help with individual student development. As a 1:1 school with Apple products, the access to and support for technology is fantastic.

There is a lot about this school that works. The music infusion is really nice, it brings a special flavor to the school. There are lots of special concerts and presentations, and the culture is fun with all the kids playing instruments, singing, dancing, etc. on a daily basis. Veteran teachers are very kind to students, and the kids have a good self esteem. The academics, however, are a joke. They claim to be academically rigorous, but students who do a basic job are given inflated grades while students who do nothing are allowed to pass. New teachers are let go for no apparent reason, or they put in a short time and move on to something better, so students see them as temporary. Veteran teachers, along with administration, run the school like it's their own personal social club. Students who succeed there often do so based on their popularity and are nowhere near ready for college. And the building itself is horrible, with plumbing issues, gross classrooms, and a nasty excuse for a lunch program. Send your kid there if you want them to have a great self esteem, enjoy themselves, and develop a horrible work ethic.

Students do what work the feel like doing, and teachers just drop the bar lower and lower to make them feel good about themselves and avoid complaints.

Teacher-student relationships are very close and that's heartwarming to see. However, nobody holds kids accountable and they just do what they feel like doing.

Administration is supportive, but the school's lack of resources are crippling. Teachers get let go for no apparent reason, and so they are afraid to stand up for themselves. The students see teachers as temporary.

Good special ed. teachers but lack of resources and general work ethic is awful

Bullies can get expelled, but only after many referrals and egregious behavior. A huge amount of social bullying goes on, especially surrounding the "dating" scene, which is unpleasant to see

My child has always received outstanding instruction with allotted time after school to address any areas that require additional support. All of the teachers Ive been in contact with are positive and give my child constructive criticism when needed.

My child has a 504 plan and the admin/teachers have done an outstanding job implementing interventions and addressing changes and/or new concerns as they arise.

Currently in our second year at Allegro. My child loves the staff and the majority of her peers. We love that music is the basis of this school and I strongly encourage potential parents and students to schedule a tour.
