The teachers and staff are check collectors. If you have a problem, good luck trying to talk to the principal or the vice principal. Both are non existent. The staff will talk about you in front and behind your back. And they want to stop the bullying among the kids. It starts at the top. Considering removing my child from this school next school year.

Worse school ever!!! Please do your homework before buying a home in this school district. Administration will say what you want to hear, and you as a parent must report bullying or a blind eye is turned to it. Please, please for your childrens sake, do your research.

My kids are new to this school for the year 23-24. I hate it for them. Their grades have dropped tremendously and it dissent feel like it’s a high priority to get the kids where they need to be. As a parent I’ve heard my kids express to me the kids are not the nicest and can be bullies. I’ve had several interactions with the principal and don’t feel like enough was done. I feel this school need intervention training or close down. This school is failing the kids and are not setting them up to be the best they can be in life. The test scores are low, grades low and a lot of self esteem problems. I pray the school board look at this school very carefully and make better decisions for these babies of the feature.

My daughter came home from school and I always ask her if she had a good day. Well she told me what happened and I called the school furious wondering what happened. I didn't get no call or anything Im confused and concerned about my child and on how she's getting treated there. The principal basically blamed everything on my kid. There's more to the story then what I'm getting. My child said she got hurt. I'm getting 2 different stories. She says she got hurt and they said she didn't. She got dragged to the office and I didn't get a call from them! This is a new school for her and it's still the beginning of the year. What is wrong with this world and what is it coming to...

Their tolerance for bullying is garbage. Their willingness to address & take ownership is disgusting. a teacher took my child off their assigned bus and put them on the wrong bus . My child was lost for 2 hours I had 2 to call the police in order to get assistant or acknowledgement that my child was put on the wrong bus. My other child was bullied, spit on and not only that a child popped my chain off my child neck, they had no type of disciplinary action taken out against them or their parents.

My son does not bring a lot of homework home, right now we do complete sight word learning and basic math skills to include clock reading and money recognition

I think the teachers are doing a great job, sure there are some tough days...but kids and parents are not easy

The kids learn how to handle problems and use different ways to express their dislike with a situation

Teachers at Saunders Elementary School are really putting forward the effort needed to improve our test scores.

The school has great counselors and positive role models. Kids join safety patrol, do morning announcements, recycling collection, and have the option of learning proper flag handling.

Our previous Principal was a great team player and worked very well with the students. We have a new Principal this year who I believe is going to do amazing things to help improve this school. Looking forward to what the next 5 years will be like.

I know my son is given the H.W. list on Monday and all is collected on Friday. Really helpful when our schedule gets full. Gives him time to get it done at his own pace.

My son has just completed Dual Language Kindergarten, and I am so impressed in all that he has learned. I'm also impressed with how much the PTA is doing with these students. I really love having my son at Saunders Elementary School.

I am a grandparent of a 4th grader at Saunders. She has attended since kindergarten. We have had a few issues with her, but all were worked out very easily. The administration is excellent and responds appropriately and timely to our needs. The front office staff is kind, helpful and respectful. I think a lot of things must have changed here since the earlier reviews! The curriculum is well presented and challenging. The SOL testing is bothersome, but necessary I guess. More parental involvement could help the overworked faculty. Parents need to step up and remember that the main job of the teacher is to teach, not to parent. The PTA here is hard working and vital to the success of the school. Kudos to all those who participate! Overall I am very satisfied with the learning experience my granddaughter has had at Saunders. She has one more year here and then middle school. That's when the praying starts!

Students are encouraged to be honest and tell the truth. If a child misbehaves, the parent is advised of the situation (hopefully the parent handles the situation like an adult).

Saunders Elementary is a good school. The teachers and administration staff are courteous and always helpful. The school has a great PTA that has done some wonderful things for the school. The school has a dual language program that students can learn a second language from K thru 5. Although Saunders is a good school it isn't perfect. One of the biggest issue is parents not getting involved in their child's education. Most of these parents expect the teachers to do all the teaching while they do nothing to reinforce what was taught. Like many schools in our City, we have parents who show the staff little to no respect and expect the staff to cower to them. When this does not happen, they run off and write rubbish about the school and staff. I am a parent of two girls at the school. I visit the school on occasion, I read to my daughters class, I volunteer whenever I can. if more parents did this we would have a great school instead of a good school.

The assistant principal is terrible! She is rude and seems to not like children. On the plus side, the principal and 1st grade team are great. There is a bullying problem, especially during lunch and PE (the time when there is not a lot of structure and/or supervision), that could be addressed by adding more adults who were engaged with the students during unstructured times.

The communication (or lack thereof) between the parents, administrators, and students is horrible. The ladies in the front office are very standoffish and seem to be unconcerned about any concerns parents may have. The curriculum is not challenging and my child simply does not enjoy attending this school. Parent involvement is lacking as well. I am praying I can find a new school for my son.

This school is fantastic! My son has attended for Kindergarten as well as First Grade and I have been incredibly impressed with both teachers, but mainly his first grade teacher. He's in full day TAG and I couldn't be happier with the education he's receiving. The office staff and assistant principal aren't the friendliest, but it's something I can overlook.

Not a good school. Teachers don't listen to the children. The principal don't listen to what you have to say. Assailant principal is rude. My son went to this school for two years and both years were bad.
